GurS 04-25-2005 09:47 AM

Good song.

Did you know that Bruce is one of the top 10 sporty rockstars ever?

Thunder Fingers 04-25-2005 09:55 AM

I don't lie. I play bass, I don't see them as very hard songs at all.

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 02:25 PM

I love Maiden. Seen them in 2003, best live show I've ever seen. Can't wait for them to come back to the UK.

where did you see them?

I failed in my latest attempt to get someone to lend me a bass :(

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 02:29 PM

SECC, Glasgow. It was amazing.

Josh 04-25-2005 02:31 PM

sweet, i saw them in Newcastle, at the metro arena (i think it was still the telewest arena back then though). absoloutely amazing show, i was about 10 12 rows from the front.

Stew_Blink 04-25-2005 02:34 PM

I just got The Early Day's like..2 day's ago. I was looking at getting Rock In Rio (DVD) or The Early Days, and I couldn't decide, so I called my friend up who is a maiden freak and I was all like "Hey man, Rock In Rio or The Early Days?" So yeah, it's pretty cool..I have a bit more respect for Paul now..before I thought he was kinda just weird but now he's pretty cool in my book. He looks extremely different now though. Only sad part about that DVD is that Janick isn't in it becuase he joined later on..Got to see Nicko Though :D

Josh 04-25-2005 02:36 PM

lol...if you get rock in rio dvd, bruce and adrian do some cossack dancing in the clansman (i think)

I havn't got to see Maiden yet. They don't really come to Canada so it sucks..I think the last time they came was BNW tour maybe..

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 02:36 PM

Wow, nice. I was front row. =D !! Right in front of Janick most the time at the right side of the stage, it was immense! I dunno if the set list differed from venue to venue, but mines was rather entertaining! Here's the lot.

1. Wildest Dreams
2. Wrathchild
3. Can I Play With Madness
4. The Trooper
5. Dance Of Death
6. Rainmaker
7. Brave New World
8. Paschendale
9. Lord Of The Flies
10. No More Lies (Eddie-reaper between H's and Jan's solos)
11. Hallowed Be Thy Name
12. Fear Of The Dark
13. Iron Maiden
ENCORES:
14. Journeyman (acoustic)
15. The Number Of The Beast
16. Run To The Hills

Luckily I had the setlist before the gig. =)

Stew_Blink 04-25-2005 02:37 PM
lol...if you get rock in rio dvd, bruce and adrian do some cossack dancing in the clansman (i think)
It's Nicko and Adrain I think..becuase Bruce is laughing at Nicko dancing lol

Josh 04-25-2005 02:38 PM

we had the same setlist, brave new world was amazing. and the way bruce introduced fear of the dark with that "light goes on, light goes off thing"...

GurS 04-25-2005 02:39 PM

hello all.

reading. I can't wait for it, but it's SOOOO far away!

AAH! it's killing me

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 02:39 PM

Yeah I know, the exact same happened! I liked Bruce's outfit for Dance Of Death. The only setback of our gig was the PA packed in during the start of Paschendale! It sounded like a gun shot, everyone was in chaos.

Josh 04-25-2005 02:42 PM

that would have been a bummer, how long did it take to get it fixed?

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 02:45 PM
that would have been a bummer, how long did it take to get it fixed?
Not long, I'd say around a minute. Apprently it just started wrong or something.

Aw I wish I was going to Reading or Leeds, I'd do anything to see Maiden again! Can't go to Download either. =(

Josh 04-25-2005 02:48 PM

ah well, they'll be back after the next studio album, ie in a year / 18 months.

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 02:50 PM

Yup. Are they not recording this winter? Have you heard Bruce's new album? I dont think its as good as his previous ones, but my fave track has to be Abduction.

Thunder Fingers 04-25-2005 02:51 PM

anyone know what Dimarzio Pup Dave Use? (im thinkin of cleaning up an old and cheap guitar i might get, if i dont get that, i might clean up a new and cheap guitar...)

Deth 04-25-2005 02:53 PM

Bringing up Early Days, don't you think that all of the former members of Maiden look like old farts? I can't imagine them still in Maiden.

Josh 04-25-2005 02:54 PM

I havn't heard his new one, but yeh they will be recording this coming winter :)
Bringing up Early Days, don't you think that all of the former members of Maiden look like old farts? I can't imagine them still in Maiden.
i don't have early days (still), i really should get round to buying it.

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 03:01 PM

Good stuff, cant wait for another studio album!

Josh 04-25-2005 03:03 PM

yeh, it will be interesting to see what it will be like, as on dance of death they kind of...mellowed out a bit, IMO.

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 03:04 PM

yeah, although still a good album I thought.

Josh 04-25-2005 03:06 PM

yeh, the guitar work was great, although i didn't really like how it was mixed, i preferred the mix from the older albums because you can hear the bass better :)

and i suppose now they will have to tone down the music, as Bruce can't reach the notes he used to be able to :(

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 03:13 PM

Yeah. The older albums had a better sound bass wise.

I hope they dont. Bruce still has a strong voice I guess, but regardless, I think they'll produce another great Maiden album. They've yet to produce an album that disappoints me.

Josh 04-25-2005 03:17 PM

yeh, same here, although IMO Fear of the dark isn't one of the strongest albums ever, but still good. theres a few albums i still haven't heard though (X-factor, virtual XI, no prayer for the dying of the studio albums, only live album i have heard is rock in rio, and i have edward the great of the compilations)

GurS 04-25-2005 03:24 PM

i don't like the POM bass tone

GurS 04-25-2005 03:26 PM

/goes undercover

Josh 04-25-2005 03:29 PM

what the hell?
and i like the bass tone on PoM, what don't you like about it?

Thunder Fingers 04-25-2005 03:29 PM
i don't like the POM bass tone
Ah! im not the only one... i find his one rather anoying on POM... exelent album non the less though...

Thunder Fingers 04-25-2005 03:30 PM
what the hell?
and i like the bass tone on PoM, what don't you like about it?
it sounds like hes going through a blown cab, its a very farty tone....

x_Evilized_x 04-25-2005 03:32 PM

Heh I dont really mind it, a good album regardless.

Josh 04-25-2005 03:32 PM

meh, i don't mind it...and the album is, without doubt, great.

EDIT: now going for sleep, bye all

GurS 04-25-2005 03:51 PM

mmm, great album, probably my favourite, but steve's bass sounds like the strings are made of harderend mud

Deth 04-25-2005 07:09 PM

Best bass tone is either Powerslave or Brave New World.

I agree with you on POM tone.

Lightning_Rider 04-25-2005 08:25 PM

I kinda like Fear of the Dark, I've been listening to it a lot recently. It's got a lot of songs I like. Be Quick or Be Dead, From Here to Eternity, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Childhood's End, Wasting Love and a few others I can't remember really stand out to me. And I don't listen to the others enough to know if I really like them that much yet. And also not to mention Fear of the Dark (song) is on this album ;)

the_uber_penguin 04-26-2005 05:32 AM

Did this just slip to the third page?

I'm ashamed in you guys.

Fear of the Dark RiR version is amazing...gotta love the crowd singing the riff near the start.
