The latest album that I can stand listening to is the Black Album.. I usually like RTL-AJFA

MAthiAS 08-06-2004 04:01 PM

^^yeah no kidding man everyone on this board thinks the same way

Holyed 08-06-2004 04:22 PM

The Black Album, is what I see as Metallica's turning point down hill, but it was only so they could appeal to a bigger audience, with tracks like Enter Sandman for example, so if theres money to be made, you can't blame them. But saying that Black album does have some good tracks, its the load and reload albums I cant stand.

Today on the radio they played a Metallica song that was described as a cover of a Diamond Head song on the B-side to "Harvester of Sorrow." It was really awesome, and a lot heavier than almost any original Metallica song. Anyone ever hear of it?

gnarkill_07 08-06-2004 08:14 PM

...i wonder what would happen if bruce dickinson and james hetfield traded places. i bet metallica would still be good....bruce rules, metallica rules, i just wish st. anger wasnt so disappointing, good cd, just not a METALLICA cd. oooh everyone, heres something to get some movement in this thread going, ok. if metallica had broken up like right after ...ajfa, where would you have liked to see the guys go? im talkin in terms of different bands/careers and such.

Metallica has covered Diamond Head's Am I Evil, The Prince, Helpless and the very rare and hard to find Sucking My Love.

YDload 08-06-2004 08:47 PM

^ I think it was either The Prince or Helpless. I remember it was only two syllables, but couldn't quite understand the DJ. Which one starts out with a blistering solo?

gmoneyguy 08-06-2004 08:48 PM

hate to break it to you gnar but, hetfield is the pillar of the band, beacuase he writes most of the music (alot of kirks stuff btw) and the personalit of the band

Bulldogabel 08-06-2004 08:56 PM

Does anyone know why they kicked Dave Mustaine out of the band? This was a long time ago before they were anyone, and I was just wondering what the band would have been like having him in there, rather then Kirk?

Bulldogabel 08-06-2004 09:01 PM

The Band would probably be nothing but a memory now! Because Kirk Hammet is what kept James Heitfield and Lars Ulrich from ripping each others throat out! If Dave was still in the band, they would be over already, because he probably would have just let them (James & Lars) go at it. And say, " Let 'em flush it out of there system.". Kinda scary.

they where complaining about mustaine coming to practices drunk and late etc. yet hetfeild had his onw alcohol problems

Bulldogabel 08-06-2004 09:12 PM

They all had alcohol probs.
They should have dealt with it in a more reasonable manner.

well there nothing that can be done about it now

Bulldogabel 08-06-2004 09:20 PM

True! But something could have been done then, if they would have been smart enough to asses() the situation. But then again if they would have assesed the situation back then, they probably wouldn't have made some of the greatest, & most memorable, songs in the world.

you never know... hetfield is very controlling same with mustaine so if mustaine stayed in the band would that have destroyed metallica????

Good point! It may sound like i'm just agreeing with you just to agree, but I think that if Mustaine would have stayed in the band with them, he probably would have tried to gain control and kick James or Kirk out, if he could.
