Tightest band I've ever seen, seriously. The thing is, it wasn't the best show I've seen (kudos Mr. Harper) but it's just that all of their songs are so good and half of 'em are damm near perfect. The first few notes of [I]Suicide Invoice [/I] are just deathly. I'm gutted I didn't get [I]Our work fills the pews[/I]. The Sydney show got a 10 minute rendition of LUAU (DLJ) to finish the night off. Bastards.

It sure was a great show. Dam[font=]n[/font] loud too. I was hoping to see them do "Salton City," but it was a close to perfect set anyway. They finished with a lengthier version of "Let It Come" in Brissy.

F[COLOR=Black]u[/COLOR]ck, I'm still pumped over this. The next rock band I see has got some work to do to try and top or even match that show.

Early Minutemen stuff. A few days ago a guy I know sent me the three Post-Merch compilation sets. I just listened to [I]The Punchline[/I] and [I]Buzz and Howl Under the Influence of Heat[/I] 12''s and they're both awesomely awesome.

Double awesome, eh? I should check Minutemen out.


My two favourite bands at the moment are Hot Snakes and The Smiths.

You haven't listened to Minutemen? [I]Double Nickels on the Dime[/I] is something you will hear very soon, in that case.

Yeah, Minutemen is an awesome band. "Spillage" came up on my playlist and I just had to play along with it on my bass. Mike Watt is one of the coolest bassists ever; all of his basslines sound perfect.

Yeah, I've been meaning to for a while, seeing as they get so much praise around these parts.

None of their other albums get enough credit. Don't stop with [I]Double Nickels On The Dime[/I].

Well, after I got DNotD I got [I]What Makes a Man Start Fires?[/I], [I]Ballot Results,[/I] and [I]3-Way Tie For last[/I], and none of those are very good. Now that I'm going through this post-mersh stuff I'm finding that some of their other albums [I]are[/I] actually worth hearing.

Yeah, I know what you mean. At first I didn't care much for [I]Ballot Results or 3-Way Tie For Last[/I], but after a while of [I]DNOTD[/I] being my only Minutemen interest I decided to give them another chance, and I found them to be more enjoyable than before. I've never heard [I]What Makes a Man Start Fires?[/I] Anyway, check out [I]Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat[/I]. It's my favorite MM album after [I]DNOTD[/I].

Yeah I checked out some of their other albums, but the only one that really appealed to me was [i]Buzz or Howl[/i].

[I]WMaMSF[/I] really isn't so bad, it's just not great. It doesn't have the same sort of momentum that [I]Buzz Or Howl[/I] and [I]Double Nickels[/I] possess.
