gangsta rap from the early 90s with groups like NWA was the best thing to happen to hip hop/rap music.

the hip hop/rap industry will never see a phase like that ever again. modern rap music sucks. it focuses too much on club music. they don't have the well written stories of early gangsta rap. that stuff actually made sense, told a story, was relate-able, and was well written.

modern rap just talks about the money they have. who the hell cares about some dumbass with a third grade education and talks like an idiot's money. people can't relate to that crap.

easy e and tupac were the best two rappers of all time.

gangsta rap is to hip hop/rap as classic rock is to rock. they were the best things to happen to their respected genres and we will only see another time such as them.

well he doesn't claim to be a rapper, so it's alright. it's all these rappers who make crap that's repetitive and the beats are clearly club driven and not what a real rap song would have.

They're good for club muisc [except a lot of it, 'specially these days, REALLY blows for dancing too..it's like, the tempo is too slow for fast dancing and too fast for slow dancing].

But they arn't rap.

People just like throwin' 'em together so they don't have to distinguish.

Like when somebody calls the Dave Matthew's Band "Rock 'n Roll" 'cause like...for them, all of that "white boy music" [which is a terribly ironic name for it] sounds the same and it's the same junk.

When really it isn't.

there's so many categories out there that it gets hard to distinguish a lot of the music it out there.

i only like club music for the club. i could never listen to that stuff anywhere else.
