ATM 05-21-2005 12:36 AM

Have any of you tried salvia? I read about it in the classic rock thread, and I might check it out.

Illmatic 05-21-2005 12:37 AM

what in the name of Fred Sanford is salvia?

ATM 05-21-2005 12:39 AM

It's something you can put on your bud. It is legal, and can be purchased from head shops.

It's a hallucinogen.

morrissey 05-21-2005 12:39 AM
Yeah Chris. WTF are you talking about? Is that some new crazy street drug?
Yes.

I think this is my first post in here. woot.

edit: oh and I don't know if that's true, I just wanted to post in here. :)

Illmatic 05-21-2005 12:40 AM

It's not often that mozza ventures into R&M

Arucard 05-21-2005 06:00 AM

Wow, i can tolerate a Linkin Park song. I cant stop listening to 'Somewhere i Belong,' even though the lyrics are so bad i want to be sick.

In other news, my exams are going good.

Riva 05-21-2005 06:30 AM

My god. If anyone can pull off dressing up as a woman as well as Barry Humphries, I'd like to see it. I just saw Dame Edna on Parkinson, and this "woman" from Mudgee Flats does all Aussie's proud.

Joe, good to hear! And my friend loves Somewhere I Belong, though I find it less than appealing...

Attention, all... I have come to realise Iai and Ramsey are brothers...

Arucard 05-21-2005 08:10 AM

Oh God. Is that the truth?!! Those pictures are scary!

Dancin' Man 05-21-2005 09:38 AM
Have any of you tried salvia? I read about it in the classic rock thread, and I might check it out.
It's big in my town and from all my friends and brother who have tried it, it hardly works. But then again, I think I unwittingly had some mized with weed and if it was there, it made for the best high I've ever had.

Good morning everyone.

Riva, it's true. They are brothers. Similar facial expression even.

CemetaryGates9 05-21-2005 09:44 AM

Hmm, last night was cool. I went to some party, which started off pretty gay, but when I showed people that there was Baccardi Silver, things got interesting.

Badmoon 05-21-2005 09:44 AM

Salvia is a legal drug in USA. It can be bought at smoker's shops, and is basically an intense 15 minute trip.
it hardly works.
According to what I hear, (for that 15 minutes) it is very intense. Scenario changes, out of body experiences, etc. A few users in the CR thread have done Salvia.

Eitri Is Berserk 05-21-2005 10:15 AM

Morning everyone. I downloaded I on a 56k last night.. Oh but it was worth it! Speaking of downloading.. any of you got Catch 33? :)

CemetaryGates9 05-21-2005 10:21 AM

Im downloading Ceremony Of Shiva by Behemoth right now. I might get I though, because I'm trying to get into death metal right now.

Downloading I on 56k will suck, but I downloaded Dogs by Pink FLoyd, which was....six minutes shorter. That song better be good.

KittensInMicrowaves 05-21-2005 10:26 AM

I've smoked Salvia out of a bong before.... it is VERY intense for like 20 minutes, I felt like spiders were crawling all over me

Not a very social drug, but yes, it is legal in the US

On an aside, I have experimented with a ton of different drugs, if anyone needs info on anything (what it feels like, how much to pay, how much to do), I would be glad to assist..... IM me or something

Jom 05-21-2005 01:09 PM

Meh, I was disappointed in the Conan performance... but I guess when you've been touring non-stop promoting a new album until Ozzfest, your chops might be a bit sore.
I heard Ramsey stopped posting on MX as much because he joined this band:

http://tinypic.com/5aj97n
This would have been funny if you got a more recent photo, considering they dropped the facepaint years ago.
I don't get it.

It's Mudvayne.
It's a metal band. Of course you wouldn't get it to begin with :)
I was trying to find a picture of Jom to put on there, but I couldn't find one :upset:
There's a reason why I don't post pictures often anymore. Take a guess as to why.
Just MS Paint some dopey aviator shades on one of the guys there; we would have gotten the idea
Heh. I sort of chuckled, I guess.
http://tinypic.com/5ajade
Wow, you give my MSPaint pictures a run for their money when it comes to overall shittiness.

///
I watched Mudvayne on Conan. The singer now looks like he should be in Good Charlotte, and the song "Happy?" is a bunch of nu-metal schlock, but God-DAYUMN can Ryan Martinie play bass!
Well, they stick with what works, I guess. They were polite to Conan when he came to shake their hand, which was cool to me. Chad said, "Thank you, sir." That was nice. The performance was horrid, though, considering the album version is so much better. But like I said, after endless touring to promote a new album, and then mainstaging Ozzfest, Chad's vocals and everyone's chops are probably worn down. And yes, Martinie is an awesome bassist :jealous:
I bet you guys will do heroin at least once.
I'll guarantee you, right here and right now, that I will not. No questions asked. Same goes for any other illegal drug.
/post
Well, this was a surprise, to say the least. Was The Pit that boring? :p

PS: I'm writing the letters next week

/doubts she's going to see this
Look, Iai and Ramsey are brothers [sic]
Hahahahha.

///

So I got sent home from work today because-- get this-- it was too slow. After getting slammed for two weeks, barely anyone came in today. It was weird.

Basically everyone there is from mx, and most of the members are classic rock/metal heads. So give it a look, it's a pretty sweet place

I'm a memeber there but I think that might be advertising, maybe not though.

munky_magik 05-21-2005 04:32 PM

No Advertising. You should know that.
I wonder what an IP search would turn up...

Illmatic 05-21-2005 04:48 PM
It's a metal band. Of course you wouldn't get it to begin with
I saw them on Conan.

They're not metal.

YDload 05-21-2005 04:50 PM
I saw them on Conan.

They SHOULD be. Their first album was great but they're falling into the trappings mediocrity.

Mudvayne, right?

Illmatic 05-21-2005 04:57 PM

Yeah, we're talking about Mudvayne. The song they played last night feels like every sludgy nu-metal song ever released, with a comical lead singer to boot.

Also, top-notch usertitle. I laughed when I first saw it.

YDload 05-21-2005 05:02 PM

yeah their lyrics and singing are horrible but don't tell me you didn't notice the bassist.

he's excellent, and i think he has the most votes of any nu-metal bassist so far in the top 100 poll. which is good because he's one of the few competent ones.

Illmatic 05-21-2005 05:05 PM

I don't remember the bassist all that well, to be honest.

Arucard 05-21-2005 05:22 PM

Mmmm, you guys seem to hate new Mudvayne. I think Happy? is a freaking awesome track. The clean vocals in the verse are awesome, and the bass is of course, great. He plays his bass so cool!

I don't think he is anyone else. He just got off of a two month ban for advertising those forums though, so he is a bit of an idiot.

YDload 05-21-2005 05:31 PM

Hey Bartender I'm done with the nominations. Can you close the top 100 bassists thread now?

Bartender 05-21-2005 05:38 PM

I'll go close it now. It might take a while though /56K
I don't think he is anyone else. He just got off of a two month ban for advertising those forums though, so he is a bit of an idiot.
Well, perhaps I think otherwise :p

On another note, I'm gonna go CD shopping on Monday. Bye bye £150.00 :D

Jom 05-21-2005 05:58 PM

It's not that I have a problem with the new Mudvayne, it's just how disappointed I was in their sound last night.

Of course, I should have expected it, since SOAD sounded like crap on SNL a couple weeks ago. I wasn't even fazed when Daron's F-bomb slip happened.

I'm also not particularly surprised with Ray's opinion. Should I be?

Thought not.

Illmatic 05-21-2005 05:59 PM

What exactly is that supposed to mean?

munky_magik 05-21-2005 06:00 PM

Mudvayne have always stood out from most of the nu-metal crowd, at least for me.

The amount of typos I originally had in this post was unbelivable :(

YDload 05-21-2005 06:22 PM

I'm done counting up all the nominations! Ugh. Soon I will unveil the top 100 R&M bassists!

There were like 276 nominations, so less than half of them made it. But it's a pretty good list I think, even though I'm not pleased with the order as it stands.

Well, that's to be expected on a forum such as this... not everyone knows about a majority of the more talented bassists, so yeah, everyone will go to the mainstream.

I'll look forward to it, though.

EDIT: Also, thanks for the Minutemen upload in the YSI thread.

You would've be subjected to it anyway, as per usual.

Here's a snippet of bassists who didn't make the cut. As you can see, I was not above editorializing the list when it came time to count Eleventeen's votes. :)

171. Fieldy (Korn) HA HA hA hA HA HA
172. Dave DeRooADEMA HA HA HA
173. Keller Williams (What?)
174. Some Linkin Park Faggot (Sucks)
175. John DeFarrella (Opeth)
176. Jean-Yves Theriault (Voivod)
177. Marco Hietala (Nightwish)
178. Pete Steele (Type O Negative)
179. Eddie Jackson (Queensryche)

Yeah, I've heard things about Mudvayne not being the best live. I still want to see them because they are one of my favorite bands at the moment.

... L.D.50 is just so **** good.
Mudvayne have always stood out from most of the nu-metal crowd, at least for me.
They have for me as well. Them and SOAD are the two nu-metal bands I fully respect. I have sort of lost my liking of Slipknot over the past few months. Their music has just started to sound all the same to me.
