That's the women

peeted 09-17-2004 08:55 AM

bah fasion is just another way for rich bastards to get richer by manipulating us dumb working/midle class retards by telling us that one expensive pece of clothing is beter than another less expansive pece ofr clothing through advertising.
The dress code always seems to be enormously thick glasses, a mullet, and extra chins.
Frighteningly enough, that description fits a very dear friend of mine... I love her to death, I just wish she'd either own up to the fact that she's a bull dyke, or at least stop dressing like one.

bass_raptor 09-17-2004 09:14 AM

<nerd> I just did the coolest thing, I decided that my laptop hardrive was done for (all the not working thing and all) so i took the casing off if, then then plugged it back in. I left the laptop casing off and turned it on. It was awesome, you can see the disk spinning and the reading head move and all. The head moves way fast, kinda like those little lizards running over short distances, you dont even see them move, it just appears in the next position. I was stuffin with it and all, touching the disk, moving the head, and this is all while my laptop is running commander keen off a floopy! </nerd>

Wintermute 09-17-2004 09:24 AM

Heh - your laptop has an A: drive. How quaint.

Dressing is a way of self-expression, so you shouldn't get worked up about that :).

ShelBel 09-17-2004 09:30 AM

LMAO

My old laptop had an a: drive, but it was an external one. I think I used it to boot once, when I was wiping the drive...

Wintermute 09-17-2004 09:32 AM

Mine doesn't have an A: drive at all. I considered getting an external one, then decided I'd never use it anyway, and to buy a 160GB hardrive, smack it in a caddy then throw in a PCMCIA USB2 card instead.

ShelBel 09-17-2004 09:38 AM

Since most everything is CD-bootable now, they're fairly obsolete. I just got a 256MB usb drive, had it for 2 days and I'm hooked. I don't know how I lived without it!

peeted 09-17-2004 09:39 AM

........my computers ****, thats about all i know about it

bass_raptor 09-17-2004 09:41 AM

yeah mine is old as. p1 233

bass_raptor 09-17-2004 09:52 AM

bass_raptor 09-17-2004 09:55 AM

hehe i know a guy whos got a drive for the disks before 5 1/4" its like an 8 inch disk

and the drive is 2 drives side by side. Its funny cos this disk drive is bigger then an computer

ShelBel 09-17-2004 09:59 AM

The old phone system for the hospital had these HUGE hard drives in it, they were like more than a foot across. Make nice clocks!

And I've seen a 10" floppy and drive. What a trip!

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 09-17-2004 12:00 PM

ShelBel 09-17-2004 12:38 PM

You hot dawg, you. ;) I gotta work again until 11pm tonight. But tomorrow I can sleep in for a while, and in other news, I found out the new geography professor here (who looks like he's barely out of uni himself!) is a drummer and we're talking about starting a band! It'd be my first, and I'm all excited and terrified at once, such a girl thing to say, but there it is.

Radiobass81 09-17-2004 12:44 PM

Congrats, BFAG. Now that college is starting for you, thinks seem as they are looking up. Hope everything goes well. Umm.... enjoy your lunch (?).

Lay_Down_The_Groove 09-17-2004 01:50 PM

Geez page 90 this thing could go to 100

Radiobass81 09-17-2004 01:51 PM

I thought most Casual Threads were around 30 pages :amaze:... I didn't notice this one was this big.

Lay_Down_The_Groove 09-17-2004 01:53 PM

They have recently got a lot of attention in the last 2 casual threads

Wintermute 09-17-2004 01:54 PM

This is a goliath of a Casual thread. No previous Casual has breached 1000 posts. This one just breached 2240...

Saitoku 09-17-2004 01:56 PM

I'm preparing myself for work as of right now.

I work at the laptop service center for my University.

Buuut... it's Friday night, so that means 80% of people are going to be too busy being drunk or high to come bother me. :D

Saitoku 09-17-2004 01:57 PM
This is a goliath of a Casual thread. No previous Casual has breached 1000 posts. This one just breached 2240...
The casual threads are nice.... it's like a clean version of the pit.

Wintermute 09-17-2004 02:01 PM

Yeah, I just got back from work. Normally Friday nights are peak time for people buying booze, but the utility bills are due this weekend, so it was pretty quiet.

Lay_Down_The_Groove 09-17-2004 02:03 PM

you work at a beer store Wintermute

Wintermute 09-17-2004 02:07 PM

It's a Newsagent, primarily, but it also does alcohol, cigarettes, sweets, and general household items like cleaning stuff, meat, milk, tins of things, and so on.

Lay_Down_The_Groove 09-17-2004 02:10 PM

so pretty much a convience store

Wintermute 09-17-2004 02:16 PM

Basically, yeah. Except it's English, so it's a Village Shop.
