I like your style. |
@squirrel: so, what's your training plan?
I usually do -Chest + Shoulders -Arms + Back -Legs + Stomach using free weights as much as possible to improve coordination. plus a little running here and there (after the exercise), I <3 running
i'm not lifting atm cause i'm training instead and havent really got around to putting weights into my routine yet I started on rippetoes Starting strength with one HIIT session a week Then I moved onto a 3 days split of push, pull and press, with two HIIT sessions a week. inbetween that I experimented with various splits and High Intensity training before i settled on the above. I was a big fan of super sets and rest/pause training :) You shouldnt really do "arms" on the same day as the biceps and triceps are antagonistic to each other - you should do biceps on back days and triceps on chest days. If youre doing a 3 days split and are looking purely for mass then i would recommend Rippetoes program.
you're in york aren't you? where is that, st nicholas' fields?
I go to uni there but dont live there, I live in Ripon.
in the defense of everyone else squirrel seems to enjoy being a general cunt
another retard |
I wanna do drop sets but it's an arse on in your own home. In the gym it's dead easy.

Definitely agree with you, especially for beginners (and people making the "transition" to intermediate). i think a lot of people start on a new regime and quickly get disheartened/change it/ stop compeltely cause they dont see results after 3 weeks. i think a lot of people are oblivious to the timeframe needed to assess how well something works for you.
also a lot of people are hung up on getting "big", by which they mean "big arms", which they mistakenly think = big biceps. |
Squirrel, I need to start some cardio stuff for the next couple of months now I can't play football, I was just gonna do a run every other day, maybe more often, is there anything else I can do other than just running to keep my fitness up/avoid the boredom of running?
|
What kind of results are you after? are you aiming to "keep fit" in the sense of not stagnating and maintaining your current physique? Increasing explosive fitness? endurance?
Based on what you've said so far i'd say run twice a week - some argue with this next point but i stress it a lot - but make sure to have good shoes and not run on concrete much. I'd advise swimming and cycling too. Or you may want to do one long distance run a week and one session of sprint training a week. |

How tall are you like?
As i said 9i think previous page) i really settled into a push pull press routine, it really worked for me and i wish i'd been recommended it sooner. I guess it was partly my fault for lack of research as well, to be fair. I ****ing love press movements. actually i just ****ing love compound movements, i remember when i really nailed my deadlift form and my lift skyrocketed. I really had to hold back from doing them too often. again, as i said before i should really work some weights back into my training, something for me to do in about a week or so when im done with my masters. |

Huh, I just noticed I'm below the median weight.
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=75+kg+lbs but then again I'm all muscles so it's fine :naughty: edit: I'm starting to like Wolframalpha: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=180cm+feet |
if you were all muscles you'd likely be over the median

Nice Skynet find  I wish it had existed when I had to do calculus assignments. Now I'm a TA and everybody gets everything right, so it's fine with me - less time needed for marking the assignments :chug: BTW I'll be doing a semester thesis on modelless automatic control in Sept, it's gonna be AWESOME. @squigs: I'm not the bulky type but my getting in shape programme is working really well. |
skinnypack and 5x curls a week?

Squigs: I'm just trying to maintain my fitness levels; I can't really lift anything until my hand heals up but I'll be pestering you for advice when it does. Cheers.
|
I'd recommend 1 or 2 moderate intensity distance cardio sessions, basically a jog or w/e.
And a sprint training session once a week. mix things up if you get bored though with cycling, punchbag, jumprope, swimming etc. |
