entombment of a machine is fun to do vocal covers on...

when no one's looking
Well unless your at a band practice or playing a show, screaming is kind of silly.

Old JFAC = win though.
even worse

they actually look like a metal band on stage now though, watching old videos of them with the sound off would be like watching a hawthorne heights cover band.
They used to look like a metalcore band (and they originally were).

there's some stupid faggot at my school that walks down the hall breeing sometimes. I make a point to insult him regularly.

But seriously, my high vocals kill me. I need a better technique because all my other vocals (low, mid, bree, queek etc) are inhaled, but inhaling highs is really hard and hurts alot.

Give me a suggestion for good exhale high technique!

oh, I also do vocal covers at home after school for fun+to get my technique better.

i am the robots 10-13-2007 05:03 PM

I practice on my own when nobody's around.

And me and my friends all used to do brees in the hall last year. =/

Treebeard 10-13-2007 05:49 PM

I wish I could do any type of metal vocals that I want. :( can't do crap though...

Way to fault a band for how they look. Kill yourself.
And All Shall Perish is a less talented version of The Faceless. :)
Yeah um they're not the same at all.
you're meh.

can you provide a reason for Symbolic being meh?
Slow songs, samey structures.

If I want slower stuff with some techiness, I'll take TSOP. And Symbolic isn't even technical. It's just too simple all around.

i am the robots 10-13-2007 06:08 PM
Yeah um they're not the same at all.
THEYRE FROM CALIFORNIA AND THEY HAVE BREAKDOWNS THEYRE IDENTICAL

It's unfortunate that Elliot left JFAC for that band... almost as unfortunate as Andy leaving for Knights Of The Abyss.

Simply great, you mean. Yeah, Symbolic may be Death's simplest release but every single song on it is memorable. The riffs are structured in such a way that Chuck can get away with having "samey structures". Plus, these samey structures and intertwined riffs give the album as a whole a feeling of completeness and fluidity. The lyrics on it are breath-taking as well. Then again... reading Death lyrics is like a ritualistic ceremony to me.

rattlehead42147 10-13-2007 08:18 PM
Death really blows. SBG was okay for a while when I first heard it. Then Leprosy only has one good song which is Pull the Plug. I'm not going to even bother checking out their "tech" stuff. I've heard songs like Flattening of Emotions and that one instrumental called like Sounds of Perseverance or some ****.
The ultimate blasphemy.

i am the robots 10-13-2007 08:19 PM

You like gay stuff.

The title track is good, but the whole thing just needs to be injected with some serious speed.

Stormrider 10-13-2007 08:40 PM

Misanthrope?
The title track is good, but the whole thing just needs to be injected with some serious speed.
I happen to enjoy the slower side of Death. The main thing from Symbolic for me is that every single song is so god damn catchy.

btw, since you seem to like speedy Death, is your favorite album TSOP or ITP?

LifeInABox 10-13-2007 08:42 PM

Slow Death = Fast Death for greatness tbh

NemesisDivina 10-13-2007 08:42 PM
Misanthrope?
hater of all mankind. there is some hope. for those who own their mind. they came, they saw, and acknowledged. some good. some bad. opinion: dangerous. I quote that to my brother all the time... great line

this from the guy that "screams in the following bands" and likes JFAC! BREES ARE KOOL!

i am the robots 10-13-2007 08:49 PM

rattlehead, you're a fucking faggot.

rattlehead42147 10-13-2007 09:03 PM

Cosmic Sea for ultimate Death greatness.

my human shirt shrunk and now i cant wear it. :(

LifeInABox 10-13-2007 09:06 PM

Okay Chuck's lyrics are overrated. Come on. They're really not that good, and on the later Death releases he didn't even deliver them well.

i am the robots 10-13-2007 10:31 PM

i liked his voice on the later releases, but his lyrical content's very bland agreed.

rattlehead42147 10-13-2007 10:42 PM

im going to be forced to disagre with you on both accounts cause the human vox are peak, and the lyrics on spiritual healing are great, especially altering the future

nah, those lyrics are mediocre.

good lyrics = wormwood, radiotion by ampere.

VomitStainedCretin 10-14-2007 03:00 AM

Together As One is one of my faves off Human and lyrically reminds me a lot of the Cronenberg film Dead Ringers (to the extent that I wondered if Chuck watched it before writing TAO). Chorus of Suicide Machine is perfection, I particularly love the "I request to die with dignity" part.

I'm somewhat getting into Deicide's s/t, my main qualm is that it feels a bit samey and primitive instrumentally in places (I've heard Legion is an improvement in these areas). Faves are Deicide, Blasphereion and Sacrificial Suicide.

AA-12 10-14-2007 07:56 AM

What do you expect? It's a defining DM album.

On Death: Everything about Death is good. Lyrics, music, vocals, everything.

I <3 Josh.

and no Death's lyrics are NOT overrated

and Chuck's voice is fantastic. on all releases... except SBG >.<

pate 10-14-2007 11:38 AM

No...on all releases.

NemesisDivina 10-14-2007 11:42 AM

Fine. :D

TOGETHER..... they absorb each other's lives
AS ONE...... they will live and they will die
A LIVING HELL..... HAS BEGUN!

and to the deicide thing, i think legion is about the same quality of songwriting. but i really like the song trifixion on legion.
No...on all releases.
pate's got you there, nemesis. SBG is great and all but i'm really glad Reifert got fired or left or whatever. but John Hand's solos on the album are some of the best I've ever heard.

LifeInABox 10-14-2007 01:15 PM

Legion > S/t

Barely.

Invicta_Veritas 10-14-2007 02:11 PM

IMO.

I hate Scars of the Crucifix.

2muchket! 10-14-2007 02:26 PM

Meh legion is good I still prefer their S/T.

rattlehead42147 10-14-2007 02:27 PM

id have to call the two equal overall.

The video for it is absolutely hilarious.

FatalEnergy 10-14-2007 02:31 PM

Because it sucks. That album is so weak.
