I just saw the Dammit, making of the video, and Mark said that 182 was added on because he was overweight and his doctor said his ideal weight should be 182. Therefore, Mark had 182 written all over his post its and stuff to remind him. I never heard that "182" theory before it was pretty interesting.

its just a random number because Blink was already a band when they first started...i read in a tom delonge interview in some magazine i picked up waiting to get my haircut or something one day...he said that mark just makes up **** when people ask that question, but Blink called them and they would sue if blink182 (who was also Blink at the time) didn't change the name to something else, so they just added the 182, i guess it just sounded good

Butler found this way out and it hasn't been told to people. It's pretty cool how it works, but I'm not entirely sure how it works.

There was an interview where someone told Mark about the number theory. Mark laughed and called Tom over. They thought it was amazing, but just said its a coincidence.

The Blink book 'Tales From Beneath Your Mom' has a list of possible meanings for the 182. I think I said it in the old thread somewhere.
