I don't think guitar magazines are really worth it. I'll buy one every once in a while, but there isn't much that interests me in there, it's usually because of one interview or song they have tabbed out.
I'm listening to Pink Floyd at Live 8 again, very cool. Can anybody upload any other Pink Floyd bootlegs? I'm really dieing to hear anything live by them. |
I rarely buy guitar mags, but if you dig pink floyd/jimi hendrix I'd reccomend picking up the new guitar world, its also got an interview with buddy guy if your into that sort of thing. It's only about 8 bucks in the US, and comes with a pretty cool CD-rom
I don't get any guitar magazines. Are they worthwhile?
I think Gilmour is amazing, but I can see how someone who's a big fan of Malmsteen or Petrucci or any of those types wouldn't like Gilmour.
Actually, I'm a big fan of Petrucci, but I'm still a big fan of Gilmour. |
I am a huge Gilmour and Petrucci fan as well. I'm a sucker for SRV too.

If not, I can upload that. Also, if you don't have it, you should get the David Gilmour acoustic DVD, it's really amazing. |

I do have the David Gilmour DVD, but I don't have Prism, or any other bootlegs. |
K, I'll upload Prism later today.

I can upload a 1972 (I'm pretty sure) concert of them playing DSotM, but different in a few ways (On The Run is an instrumental jam, Time is extended, etc.) ad also they start playing SOYCD, but the file ends before they start singing. I was cofused about this at first (why they did SOYCD with DSotM) but then I read that they performed it a lot live before WYWH, and also that when this concert was played they hadn't finalized the tracklist yet. I would go ahead and upload it, but the jerkoff who made the file made it a movie file, even though there's no video, so it's way bigger than it eeds to be. If anyone says they want it, I'll upload it
(PS: It's the same thing I uploaded a while back) |

I'd definitely like to see that uploaded, if possible.

I read through the first 65 pages of Inside out Today is office work. Very interesting read.
|
Interesting good or interesting bad?

On the Run was awesome on that. I remember when BigTrav uploaded that, I heard it once but then the file somehow got deleted or something. I should search some folders to see if it was moved. |
If that could be uploaded again, I would heart whoever did it.
So, I can't upload Prism right now, because YSI/my internet seem to hate me. But, I'm sure other people can do it, and if not, I'll upload it when I can. |
I'm actually thinking that lyrically (though maybe not meaning wise) Roger really shines on The Wall.
Interesting good or interesting bad?
Good. Roger used to be the rhythm guitarist, and they almost had 2 guitarists in the band during PATGOD  |
Yeah, Roger's never been that much of a bassist. Imagine if the band had sticked to two guitars, and picked up a jazz bassist?
|
Ha, I need to post a quote about that tomorrow
|
Apparently when the band was known as the Architectural Ahabs (or something like that) Roger played lead, Richard Wright played rhythm, and Nick Mason played bass. Not sure how true that is, but I recall reading it somewhere.

Thats really...crazy...can't imagine that at all. |
Yeah, I'll see if I can find where I read that and put up a link or something.
|
i got addicted to a new song that i never really paid attention to
Why wont you talk to me on the Pulse video wow that talkbox solo is :thumb: |

I heard they were called Sigma Five, except with Roger on Guitar, before Barret formed Pink Floyd. |
Keep on Talking is definitely a good song.
The members of Pink Floyd went through quite a few incarnations before stumbling upon Pink Floyd. |
They were even called Megadeath
|
Were they really? That's pretty funny.

Hi
Just wanted to pop in and say im a big Pink Floyd fan. My favs are DSOTM, The Wall and Meddle. Would you like to learn to fly? Would Yah! Would you like to see me try!! lol anywayz |
I listened to Animals on vinyl while I was packing today. That's gonna be one of those immortal ones. It occurs to me every time.
|
Well, due to the response of people wanting to hear that DSotM concert, I shalt upload it! YSI, go!
*Searches folders for file* Ok, it's uploading, but keep in mind that it's a 43.2 MB file (**** idiot made it an MPEG :upset: I think it's so he could get more hits on Limewire) |
