theres another called CD Zone that delivers within 48 hours in the UK...heard of that one?

Is there anything else you have to do to get the CD's?]
thanks for the help :) :thumb:

DimebagDarrell 01-02-2005 10:30 AM

yeh ive heard of cdzone there pretty big but ive not ordered anything off them i think. Amazon make it easy just find the album you want and if you want to buy off amazon themselves click add to basket straight away if you wana but off the used and new section go to it and find the company you would like to order from, simple. I only order of reputable companies and i never buy used stuff off the net they will charge a few penny for p&p as well if you decide to buy/

Lucky. Everyone in my town wants to start a band like Nickleback or Shinedown. Lord have mercy on them.

CaptainWaits 01-02-2005 03:07 PM

Right now I'm in two bands

My main one is a very unique style, as we combined alternative funk (primus style) with death metal elements

And my other band I've started is a Power metal band w/ harsh vocals (not like CoB though, more death vocal sounds)

ForiegnPenguin 01-02-2005 07:22 PM

I think its time to move.

Griffin_Page 01-02-2005 09:15 PM

I am gonna get Kreator's new DVD when it comes out man.. I'm not letting that one pass me up whatsoever.

So whats goin on people? It's been a while since I've been here man... lately, I've been listening to a lot of Megadeth, Kreator, and Opeth. Me and a couple friends are finally getting a sort of band together, but we still need a drummer to complete it. Anyway, as for our sound, imagine Opeth-style octave harmony riffs mixed with some technical Megadeth-style riffing with a dark thrash voice, similar to that of Sodom, Coroner and Kreators. I tend to write a lot of melodic black metal style riffs, like Myrrdraal and Berserk, with some dark symphony stuff like early Cradle. Anyway, the second we press a demo, I will have files on here for you guys to listen to. Thrash on, brothers (and sister) \m/

DisposableHeroes 01-03-2005 06:18 AM

SLATANIC-666 01-03-2005 06:46 AM
Yeah. Happy new years all. I went to a local show with a few local bands. Was average for local metal gigs around here. Then headed to a girl friends b'day. Was fair ****ing awesome as there were 5 or so other metal heads there - I can't remember when metallica was as fun as it was. Oh yeah, and Elimination is the best party song EVER! Pretty much 6 straight hours of head banging. Downed half a case and was feeling fine since bed at about 10 pm new years day. This proves that the best hang over remedy is not to goto sleep at all. :D... although, it doesnt improve the neck was slightly aching... Hope everyone else enjoyed their celebrations and that metal was included in some small part.

Anyway... Me and a mate decided to form a thrash band. \m/. Watch out ****ers, a year or two from now, we will be raging all around the world!.. or something....
Goddamn, If my New years celebration was just half of that I'd be ecstatic. The forming a thrash band was the 'iceing on the cake' I bet.
Is that the Amazon new and used system? I've thought about using it before but I didn't think I'd ever see my money again :(

Has anyone here ever used the new and used thing at Amazon and is it any good?
Yes, it's the new and used system, I was a little cautious to begin with aswell, but I must have bought over 30 albums using the system and I've only had minor problems like late delivery. There are certain third party sellers I try and avoid if possible but obviously a good indication of the quality of seller is the feedback. Saying that though Amazon themselves have recently fucked me around. I ordered a Destruction album about a month and half ago and still no show :upset:

Edit: and try to avoid buying second hand too, unless of course it's a discontinued albums like, thinking..., Eternal Nightmare- Vio-lence, don't know the exact details, I just know there isn't any or many new copies left.

metal-militia 01-03-2005 10:43 AM

Picked up Overkill - Under the Influence today and almost got Feel the Fire as well but was £1 short :(

What does everyone think about Overkill's newer stuff like Killbox 13, Necroshine, Killing Kind etc?

FatalEnergy 01-03-2005 06:42 PM

I got the We Give You Pain bootleg by Kreator the other day, it was the show when they were the first band to play Berlin after the wall came down . Its good stuff, I'm happy my favorite Kreator song Behind the Mirror is on there........speaking of Kreator only 8 more days until the US release of Enemy of God !!!!

Overkill's new stuff is nothin short of amazing :thumb:

It's not as thrashy as their older releases, but stuff off of "Killbox 13", "Necroshine" and "Bloodletting" is da*m heavy and fu*king wicked

I'd almost recomend it over their earlier days

ForiegnPenguin 01-03-2005 07:16 PM

Got Metal Church self-title album and Overkill-Horrorscope. Two great albums.

CaptainWaits 01-03-2005 07:19 PM

^^Yes Yes, Overkill :thumb:

ForiegnPenguin 01-03-2005 07:25 PM

That is such a great cd. Metal Church is great but doesn't seem too thrash.

CaptainWaits 01-03-2005 07:30 PM

^^well they're more "traditional metal" than thrash i'd say

But yeh Overkill = best active band

P.S - For liking Overkill, you're getting +rep :thumb:

ForiegnPenguin 01-03-2005 07:39 PM

Thanks. Same goes to you and the rest of the people here for recommending great bands.

ForiegnPenguin 01-03-2005 07:57 PM

Hey good news! I just checked Voi-lence's website and it said they are re-releasing Eternal Nightmare. Finally I can get it for lower than 150 dollars.

Griffin_Page 01-03-2005 09:10 PM

Alright, with so many people suggesting Overkill on here, I'm going to let up on my hate for Bobby Blitz and give them one more chance. Any song recommendations?

CaptainWaits 01-03-2005 10:39 PM

O here come the Ultimate List dude:

-rotten to the core
-hammerhead
-overkill
-deny the cross
-wrecking crew
-powersurge
-in union we stand
-shred
-hello from the gutter
-time to kill
-elimination
-i hate
-nothing to die for
-birth of tension
-evil never dies

-coma
-infectious
-thanx for nothin
-new machine
-spirtual void
-where it hurts
-fast junkie
-they eat their young
-gasoline dream
-battle
-god like
-let me shut that for you
-feedinf frenzy (instrumental)
-cold, hard fact
-it lives
-long time dyin'
-necroshine
-let us prey
-revelation
-forked tongue kiss
-thunderhead
-bleed me
-what i'm missin'
-let it burn
-my name is pain
-devil by the tail
-****ed
-crystal clear
-sound of dyin'
-until i die

So there it is dude......every song off that list is amazing, and yes Bobby's voice can get annoying at times, but once you get to like Overkill as much as I do, you'll enjoy it

P.S the gap between the songs seperates the more thrashier Overkill from the newer Overkill, but both era's are great!!
Alright, with so many people suggesting Overkill on here, I'm going to let up on my hate for Bobby Blitz and give them one more chance. Any song recommendations?
Haha. Good on ya man. Try something from their first two albums. Blitz' voice was more well rounded i guess back then, before he got complete bon scott-ish on us. Feel the fire is my favourite song on their first album. Give that a shot. I mean, if you hate his vocals, you hate his vocals... But when you hate vocals of awesome bands, look past them and listen to the riffs. ;)
