MM is incredible too because of how progessive it is. If they make an even more progressive from what MM was, I can see them possibly topping CI.

I have never gotten into "Miss Machine", but the earlier sh!t is solid (IMO) and I really like their Patton EP. They don't interest me as much as they once did. But they're awesome live.

"Under the Running Board" is solid stuff as well, "The Mullet Burden" is what got me into DEP to begin with.

Irony would top both if it wasn't just an EP.

Come To Daddy kills it (in a good way). I mean yeah it's boring, but the fact that they actually managed to take that song and record it is unbelievable, especially in the drums.

I could see why people hate on DEP, they are kind of same-y after CI. I know that's ironic because their goal is to be as dissonant and [whatever] as possible, but even that blurs together.

That being said, I like it that way.

They're more dissonant an incoherent on "Miss Machine", I think, and just more intricate and technical on the other stuff. There's a difference.

Agreed on both points.

People fault MM way too much because it has some hooks. Honestly, to make hooks work in the context of what they're playing is a pretty incredible feat.
