Noone ever does drugs at our partys, non of us use them.

People tend to snort coffee and suger though for fun and laughs.

cobert 12-09-2005 07:02 PM

Yeah, none of my friends except one does drugs, but pretty much all of tem drink a little (i dont). I remember at one party i was the only person not drunk, and i felt like everyones dad because i was trying to convince them it was a bad idea to set the pool table on fire. Then they were singing each others arm hair by spraying fire using a lighter and a can of RAID.

Gnarmageddon 12-09-2005 07:07 PM

Haha, sounds fun.

Nothing like having a raging fire of hair under your arm.

Untitled 12-09-2005 07:11 PM

Someone i know coverd there hand in deodrant and set it on fire, it was quite funny.

Kif 12-09-2005 07:13 PM

My friend set his skateboard on fire and did a boardslide down a rail once. It was awesome, it was at night too so it was really standing out.

cobert 12-09-2005 07:14 PM

lawl.

I need to find more good msuic. Give me something.

Oh, and i bought mute print by AWS. I like Ruiner more, actually.

ZaaR 12-09-2005 07:16 PM

I've never been to a "house party" and I don't plan on it. I like good wholesome birthday parties.

That would look amazing.

Im offski. bye.

I'm not to interested in them either - i've been to the ones my siblings have thrown, they're fun - but if i had to go to one with my peers it would probrably blow

PDWAB 12-09-2005 07:29 PM
It is pointless and I'd never spend money on it. Luckily all parties I've been to have been free. But drinking to get drunk is indeed lame.
I used to think like that, but now why else would you drink?

I haven't been to any bad parties while I've been up here, but I went to a few lame ones at home. When your college has 28,000 people, though, there is no shortage of new people to meet so that's good.

cobert 12-09-2005 07:34 PM

GIVE ME GOOD MUSIC THAT WOULD BE EASY TO FIND IN A RECORD STORE.

kthx.

And i have finally realized the reason me and my guitarist dont get along: He likes music that is technical and 'sounds cool', while i like music that is more based off of emotion. His things come out sounding, as i put it, 'like atreyu', and mine are always 'gay and all hardcore and stuff'. I think alot of his music sounds formulaic, especially since he writes a chorus first. I prefer songs with either no chorus or short and thrashy choruses.

So,

HIS MUSIC = Mainstream rock. The closest resemblance is the band HIM. One song from him that i will play, however, sounds like what ive heard of new Finch (progressive pop-punk).

MY MUSIC = More punk/hardcore. Every once in a while ill have a slow part. The most mainstream band i resemble is Taking Back Sunday, but maybe a little heavier. Some songs, however, sound like Hot Water Music.

/end rant.

For the taste

And there's Dead Letter Dept and Hostage Life, but I don't know the purevolume links. I'll get it in a few seconds though.

Edit: Couldn't find them.

I'm not sure what kind of variety your record stores offer, but I'll see what I can do to help. I also don't really know what bands you listen to, so I'll just give you a short list, with some descriptions, in a few minutes.

If I want to drink something that tastes good, I'll have a Coke. Alcohol is for breaking down social barriers in mere minutes.

Well, I don't like the taste, or the idea of being drunk so I don't drink.

You should get into the music your guitarist likes. Expand your mind!

ZaaR 12-09-2005 07:50 PM

The music I showed you is just a bunch of Canadian bands that are on Underground Operations except for YouthInAsia who are on a different label.

Some hardcore bands you might like are Cursed, and Terror. Another band you may like is called Mare. You can find a Mare song called "They Sent You" on http://hydrahead.com

You can find Terror here: http://purevolume.com/terror

And I'm not sure about Cursed, but you can try http://purevolume.com/cursed but I'm not sure if it exists.

Edit: The Cursed link isn't the band. But you can probably find their clips somewhere on the web.

Also, I'll give you some metalcore:

Tell me if the links are faulty. That should hold you off for awhile man. :thumb:

Naw, B. The only band he likes that im not huge on or didnt get him into is pink floyd, even though theyre the only band from before the early 90's that is allright to me. Even though he likes some of the same music as me, i think he likes it just because i do. I honestly think, like i said, the only band he really like is pink floyd, although it doesnt show in his songwriting, which sounds like HIM. Maybe he does like the same music as me, but isnt nearly as passionate as i am about it. The most pumped he's ever been was whenever he said 'Coheed and cambria are good'. Thats pretty much the most hell get worked up over how good music is.

Thanks again Poisontheflag. Ive heard stuff from terror, i didnt like it.

EDIT: Darkest Hour = Nice.

ZaaR 12-09-2005 08:01 PM

And two more hardcore bands are Converge, and Poison the Well, but I'm sure you've heard of them.

Mute Print 12-09-2005 08:03 PM

^ They're both metalcore :p

Here are some hardcore bands you might like Cob:

Go It Alone
Modern Life Is War
Set It Straight
Set Your Goals (they have hardcore and pop-punk influences)
Crime In Stereo
Mental
Marathon
Dead Hearts

HomeCatMickey8 12-09-2005 08:04 PM

PureVolume won't work for me. I don't know why, and I want to download weird experimental rap.

Neither of them are Metalcore. They don't have metalcore guitars or vocals.

Music isn't a contest to see who likes it more.

ZaaR 12-09-2005 08:06 PM

I forgot about Trivium.
Neither of them are Metalcore. They don't have metalcore guitars or vocals.
I'm almost positive that both are regarded as metalcore. They definitely aren't hardcore.

Not to say that is a bad thing by any means, as they are two of the best metalcore bands around.

Edit - I don't want to get into an argument over genres. They're awesome bands, so it really doesn't matter too much what genre they fall into.

ZaaR 12-09-2005 08:14 PM

What makes them metalcore though? I hear no obvious influences in the guitar lines as you can hear in bands like A7X, God Forbid and like wise acts.

I forgot God Forbid:

Yeah, i've heard from both of them.

Thx B-ran, ill check out some more modern life is war, ive already heard a little stuff. Everyone likes them.

And Joel: Im not saying it is, im just saying it feels like he cant get excited over music, taht doesnt make me better. It's just that he aims to write music that people will like (whether he thinks its good or not), while i aim to write music that I like, and people buying it is just a nice extra. He just seems so sneaky all the time, like he's trying to get ahead of everyone else in everything that he does instead of having fun and making music.

So, my response just went into another rant.

Maybe that's just how he expresses how he likes music. It ain't no thang.
