LIFE IS
WHAT YOU MAAAAAAAKE OF IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT NO HOLDING BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK z |
is it tekkazfvck?
|
I'll have to listen to it some more first impression is that it's too top heavy and repetitive
pretty cool at times pretty cliche other times |
'top heavy'
it's mad good, heavier than the old stuff also, finding it hilarious that you, tech death fan 9000, are complaining about cliches... |
too many albums are
/veil of maya crashes through ceiling |
veil of maya's production works perfectly for their sound, tbh
also, idk what exactly top heavy means, but yeah |
never mentioned their production, its better on CMC though
top heavy means the songs get weaker as the album goes on oldest trick in the book is to put the best song first on an album |
you mean like arsis does? :p
|
Oh, well in that case you're full of shit.
Best song on Common Man's Collapse is It's Torn Away. Only bad song really is Pillars. |
you mean like arsis does? :p
actually no WATN was the weakest song on that album ACOG yeah |
Arsis has one good album, js.
|
arsis is one of the only bands ive ever deleted from my library. pretty sure obscura is next. csb.
but yeah, i like common mans collapse all the way through. at least id is consistent too, even though its because its horribly disappointing all the way through. |

adb just shed a single tear |

I'm disappointed that they dropped a lot of the awesome harmonized guitars, but hey, they pulled off the "djent" thing better than shit like Periphery. I like it tbh. All Things Set Aside and The Common Man's Collapse Are Clearly better though. |
best songs on new veil of maya are first two
ADFD is clearly the best arsis album, their discog has worn off a little yeah |
nigga Periphery pulled off Djent so good you just don't like the vox.
but forreal, mowgli off that album is pretty sweet. |

Same actually.
Well wait, does Within The Ruins count in there? |
ADFD is clearly the best arsis album, their discog has worn off a little yeah
Except A Celebration Of Guilt is their only good album. And Dan, I just think Periphery is boring as fuck. |
Periphery is boring as fuck
^^^ Chimp Spanner and Animals as Leaders >>>> tbqh |
eh within the ruins is kind of borderline. i wouldnt throw them in with the other djent crowd, but idk.
and yeah, forgot about animals as leaders. they're pretty awesome. |
Yeah, they rule. Chimp Spanner sounds gay just cause Brent likes them.
New Whitechapel has djent-y breakdowns, and it's broot as fuck. |
Chimp Spanner sounds gay just cause Brent likes them.
*every band |
Well any band that's nutjocked by you alone turns out to suck as a rule.
|
Just read that After The Burial has too many, "core," breakdowns.
 Meshuggah is my favorite hardcore band. Downloading The Contortionist's new album, also, finally got their first one, and it's fucking brutal. |
Chimp Spanner are good.
V V V V V V V |
Link me your favorite song by them and I will judge for meself.
Do you like The Contortionist Aaron? Shapeshifter sounds like you might like it. |
The Contortionist are one of the few better bands around atm, its on my list of albums to buy
|
There's mad good shit around lately.
Deathcore has been surprising me tbh, I thought it was gonna all be Whitechapel/Acacia Strain rip-offs anymore, but I was wrong. |
most of them are going for more of a death metal feel, tryin to avoid the stigma but bands like Chelsea Grin and I Declare War are hangin on and succeeding
|
IDK about I Declare War.
And I'm gonna disagree, new After The Burial and Within The Ruins still have very metalcore influenced sounds, and are far superior. |
new After The Burial?
how the fuck did I not know thart?? and yeah Within The Ruins we've been whoring for like ever. its on that list too |

Shapeshifter sounds like you might like it.
Just listened to a few of their tracks then but they're okay, vocals aren't really my thing, i like my vocals bellowed, but... Well, Rareform Re-Release.
|
 @ ADB calling this djent.
|
New Contortionist is holy shit good.
|
New Contortionist is holy shit good.
1 2 bree |
solid
|
New Contortionist is holy shit good.
so was Apparition, but i still need their other ep Shapeshifter |
Shapeshifter is a lot more death metal and metalcore based, and a lot less post-metal based.
I say death metal and metalcore because it's more metalcore-y than most deathcore, and also more death metal-y. And the clean singing on it is a lot stronger than the new album's, not to say that I'm not ecstatic they brought back the cleans. Just that he sings a more post-hardcore style on Shapeshifter. |
