200 exciting programs!

kitsch 12-19-2011 06:07 PM

lol the copy for that is so lame. i was playing around with it at guitar center and they have some nasty filters. got this drone going and was plinking some really 80s sounding synth on top of it. its really intuitive.
Kitsch, good work man

danke, she's sweet

and gregorian chants are very cool, have to be in the mood for them. dreary winter provides that though

i reccommend this, it has mideval religious music in a post-music/ambient atmosphere

kitsch 12-19-2011 09:55 PM

i expected you to lol at my use of the term 'post-music'

and i could, but the phrase pad synth just seems much cooler
Ron get Calva Y Nada's Dies Felizes
Listening to them on youtube right now, seem cool

Haz 12-19-2011 10:02 PM

term? i never saw it. was posting on my phone all morning at work though

thing is synths generally sound ass and don't have a lot of versatility unless you pay in excess of like $1500. to my knowledge this is probably one of the cheapest synths you can actually learn anything on and even then there are mixed reviews on how it actually sounds -

http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2010/03/23/roland-gaia-synthesizer-sh-01-is-a-world-of-sexy/

midi keyboard device with knobs and sliders set up to be used with say, Tone 2 Gladiator would be the way to go

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gln7-k5XPhY

kitsch 12-19-2011 10:07 PM

that looks pretty cool but that korg kaoscillator sounded both beefy and clear when i demo'd it at guitar center

Haz 12-19-2011 10:13 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80-1srmO0vk

that looks so cool. wonder how he does that. i feel like wikihow is not going to cut it.

Haz 12-19-2011 11:16 PM

There seems to be circuit bending communities online if you google them. i'm under the impression it's fairly easy stuff on a base level that you just need a soldering iron and few components to begin with.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=circuit+bending&x=0&y=0

amazon has books

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy1mdLpy0SY

interview with the godfather of circuit bending, he's a mad hippie. lol

Bitchfork 12-19-2011 11:33 PM

i'd really like to know how to circuit bend. i know a few performers who do crazy shit with broken distortion pedals and hard disk drives and stuff like that and there's some basic-level to intense electrical engineering to it.

or you could just by a no-input mixer and be done with it
