- Ive just started getting in to them, but I really like that song "Schism".
Well in my expierence in being a Tool fan. That is there most popular song, and any person that dosent listen to there music will know that song. When i first started listening to tool, I didnt think of it much. But after listening to them for so long i have come to love the song. The guitar solo with the bass in the middle gives me goosebumps. |

I didn't like it at first either. Now I think the song is beautiful. Go figure. |
When you hear the story behind it, it is 12 times scarier I have to listen to that song with one eye open.
My favourite bit in reflection is when he says "The moon tells me a secret"
What story? The one about it being a hoax? |
What story? The one about it being a hoax?
Yeah, I guess. Supposedly, there was this guy who called into a radio station, claiming he was an ex-employee for Area 51. He was saying something about how they had a lot of secrets, they were out to get him, and something about aliens. That kind of fun stuff. Into the conversation, the whole place just shut off. I'm not exactly sure what part of the radio station went down. Later, the guy admitted to it being a hoax. But it really makes you wonder. Maybe the government shut the radio station down, and forced the guy to say it was a hoax. Unlikely, but I like to somewhat believe, or at least think about that stuff. Freaky anyway. |
It's always fun to believe.
Well I just finished listening to Lateralus for the first time, and what an experience that was. Now I understand why there are so many Tool fanboys out there. I must say that there are some insanely sick riffs in this song, and incredible vocals as well.
My favorite song off of this album has to be Parabola.
adam jones does have some cool riffs, but if you listen to songs like the grudge and eulogy he almost seems like another rythm section to the band. if you like lateralus, you MUST pick up Ænima its my favorite album from them...that might be a little biased cause it was the first album i bought from them....but hey, all there albums are different and can fit or soothe the mood you are feeling or living. there a very open band, sound wise...they almost have a song that everyone would like. for me its H. but on lateralus, parabola is my favorite too:thumb: |
I dont understand why people would hate someone for being fortunate, they should be happy for that person.
Heh, I feel the same way, yet not many people share that idea. |
August 16, 2005 is like 3 years away.
I know, I know. |
August 16, 2005 is like 3 years away.
Yeah, I guess.

Even cooler. I don't know everything exactly, so thanks. |
Actually I was wrong, I thought I had read that somewhere...
http://www.ufomind.com/area51/list/1997/sep/a16-001.shtml Try that link Also, another interesting site I found, try intering in Lateralus or Faaip De Oaid or Schism, or other songs into the thing at the bottom. http://thelemicgoldendawn.tripod.com/english.htm |
thats really trippy
tool are really trippy |
August 16, 2005 is like 3 years away.
I know, I know.
I missed something...what's the significance of that date? |
I assumed it was the DVD release date.
|
I see. I guess I need to read back a few pages.
A live DVD I assume (hope)? |
tool are really trippy
Yes they are. My friend jsut got into them because I gave him a mix CD which had like the whole Aenima CD, and some other songs. He says he loves the CD, but it freaks him out when he listens to it while he's sleeping. Like he has really bad dreams and **** when he does that. And I remember some people had the same problem with the song Stinkfist, which he says is the main song that freaks him out. Crazy stuff. |
Faaip De Oiad is freaky, but I can talk my mind into focusing on the drums in the background, and all is well.
Teleincision definitely isn't a Tool name. They've been able to come up with amazing names with references to philosophers etc., not ridiculous word combinations, so unless they've "sold out" it's not the name of the DVD. Remember, with Lateralus, Tool released information that is was called "Systema Encephale" and is had song names like "Alcowhore" or something. |
Yeah, Teleincision doesn't particularly sound like something Tool would name to me.
Anyway, I got bored tonight and had a crack at making that Aiden guys Lateralus Code. It sounds ok I guess, it's cool in parts but nothing amazing. Here's a screenshot of the final product I got in Cool Edit Pro. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v305/G_Mac07/CoolEditPro-TheLateralusCodeGregsWork.jpg /will post audio if requested |
Here is the story I put in ages ago about faaip de ooaid it was from the tool website so...

Okay I'm really bored and I feel like being really nice today, So I'm uploading all the Tool videos I have. This is going to take forever but you'll thank me.
|
Is it just me, or is the riff at 4:06 in Parabola one of the coolest riffs ever?
|

You own.
Teleincision definitely isn't a Tool name. Teleincision sounds more like something that a thrash metal band would come up with. I thought that Ænima and Lateralus were great titles and I'm expecting their next album, for some reason, to be in Latin... I have no idea why. But yeah, I loved the pun with Ænima: Anima (soul) and Enema (cleansing). |
/didn't know about that pun
/feels embarrassed |
Jeeze, this thread is dead today.
|
Yeah, we pretty much out talked tool.
|
Yep.
|
I wonder why the threadstarter "toolownsyou" is never on anymore...
|
Well once I get my uploads on here it'll be a bit busier in here.
|
And I guess that whole song project's never going to happen.
|
I wonder why the threadstarter "toolownsyou" is never on anymore...
If he was here this thread's first post would become the definitive tool link page. Many of the early regs have moved on to greener pastures. But without explanation
And I guess that whole song project's never going to happen.
If I was slightly richer and not saving for a festival it would have. We were only missing guitar and vocals. And with the amount of guitarists, im suprised no one ever put up their tracks |
I didn't know we had drums recorded. I figured we were waiting on Ken, since I know he's really busy with his own band, etc.
I might be able to do guitars and vocals, now that I'm off school and will have a lot more time. |
I would, but my tone isn't Jones enough, and I don't have any of the proper effects. But my recording always turns out good.
