Metallica won't do a thrash album, I read an Interview of Lar$ saying that Metallica got all of thier "Extreme Aggressions" out on St. Anger.
1. St. Anger was not Aggressive 2. Metallica will never be Kreator, or be half as good as Kreator, or even come close to touching that ledgendary thrash album Metallica blows NP: Sodom - Volcanic Slut |
Kreator is awesome. So is Sodom. And yeah, St. Anger wasn't aggressive at all, if you ask me, it was totally pussified.
Information on the new Nuclear Assault album taken from their official website:
PersecutionMania :thumb: whats yours cos i have a feeling i added you on my list ages ago.
Ahh thats it, i knew i added you, but that was before i lost my list on that 155 update. Mine is Kreator |

Oy, I forgot what Slayer's new album would sound like. Apparently Jeff said something like "Payback", hopefully not the downtuned guitars and lyrics, but more like the energy, speed, and aggression of the song... That'd be sweet. |
True, I hope Tom isn't as "shouty" as he has been, because obviously by watching the new Slayer DVD he can still almost pull off the Angel of Death scream

Meh, im not gonna get excited for the new slayer cause it will probly be similar to GHUA.

As long as Jeff gets a fair share in writng it should have some good moments, but yeah I fear it may just be GHUA mk.II. I think Slayer may be starting to tow the corporate line :upset: NP: Metallica - Creeping Death |
I reckon Lombardo will give 'em a kick in the ***
|
So this year we got new Metallica(Hopefully not Nu) New Exodus, New Dark Angel and now new Nuclear Assualt?
Sadus are supposed to release a new album this year. I think the new Slayer will be a big dissapointment. |
Lombardo is one of the only things I really look foward to on the new Slayer.
|
Actually I hope the new slayer album sounds more like seasons in the abyss. I quite liked that album actually. I don't follow slayer that religiously (suddenly seems wrong to say that) but I would like to hear more stuff like that album.
On another topic could anyone recomend a good exodus album to me. or for that matter any good thrash albums, I'm not that up to date on thrash really |
I would be happy if it sounded like SITA too.
As for the reccomendations I will give you some nessecities of thrash: Exodus-Bonded By Blood Dark Angel-Darkness Descends Megadeth-Rust in Peace Overkill-Feel the Fire Coroner-Punishment for Decadence Kreator-Pleasure to Kill Vio-lence-Oppressing the Masses Destruction-All Hell Breaks Loose Annihilator-Alice in Hell Sabbat-History of a Time to Come Iced Earth-Night of te Stormrider Death Angel-The Ultra-violence Sodom-Persecution Mania Sepultura-Schizophrenia Slayer-Hell Awaits Possesed-Seven Churches Testament-The Legacy Forbidden-Twisted into Form that should start your thrash collection |
Ok cheers. already have a little foothold..Have a bunch of megadeth albums including rust in peace, and I have a best of testemant. But that looks like a pretty sturdy list so cheers :)

Somehow, I get the feeling it's like all our legends seem to be burning out. However, it might just be the record companies.
You will get what I mean if you own the Destruction DVD, especially right after Schmier and Mike talk about Release From Agony (which definitely sounds shIbbY!) XD |

Worst. Spelling. Ever IMO Slayer were pretty poor after Seasons in the Abyss, but everything before that is solid. NP: Legacy (Pre Testament) - Burnt Offerings |

I though Slayer released one good early album. South of Heaven. The rest just don't do it for me |
Are you saying that you only like South of Heaven?
|
Are you saying that you only like South of Heaven?
Yes |
EDIT: To Penguin - Can you read?
I'm not a huge fan of South of Heaven, mainly becuase i don't like the slower Slayer songs. |
I'm not a huge fan of South of Heaven, mainly becuase i don't like the slower Slayer songs.
That's the reason why I like South of Heaven. I'm huge on Thrash, but Slayer's fast stuff p*sses me off. It's too bland |
Same here, I like the speedier stuff.

^Hardly
I don't have SOH so I shouldn't be talking. |
So has anyone yet heard Overkill's Relix IV??
|
I think Slatanic has it and said good things about it.
|
So has anyone yet heard Overkill's Relix IV??
Not i, but the guys on the Exo board mostly think its very good. Only a few people think its mediocre/tired sounding |
Yeh I heard from many that it was better than Killbox
|
Just a useless fact for everyone, the song Darkness Descends is actually based on a Judge Dredd comic. No joke, i can find the interview where Gene says it if anyone doesnt believe me
|
I heard about that somewhere too some time ago
|
I was a little surprised myself
|
Yeah, I have RELIXIV, I like it, it has energy and I really can't say a bad word about it, didn't really like 'Old School' too much though.
NP: Dark Angel - Perish in Flames \m/ |
So has anyone yet heard Overkill's Relix IV??
RCA said it wasn't anything special if i remember right. |

A bunch of Anthrax's songs obviously were about Judge Dredd (I am the Law), and Holy Wars....The Punishment Due, well actually just The Punishment Due part is about the punisher Mabye If I start reading more comics I'll write better lyrics |
Y'know i was always figured Lone Justice was about Dredd in some way
|

Mabye If I start reading more comics I'll write better lyrics
I think it's Killing is my Buisness that is also about The Punisher comics. It's in the booklet of the album somewhere. |

NP: Dark - Perish in Flames \m/
Well that's good to hear |
Found Flotsam and Jetsam's "No Place for Disgrace" for 11.99, and then Sepultura's "Chaos DVD" for 14.99
I am a true bargin hunter XD |
Megadeth's Choson Ones is about the rabbit in Monty Python.
|
Megadeth's Choson Ones is about the rabbit in Monty Python.
The Ravenous Rabbit XD I loved that movie man. "Oh it's just just a small little bunny rabbit" *one gets murdered* "RUN AWAY!!!!!!" *rabbit glides in mid air with red eyes and fangs* "QUICK! USE THE HOLY HAND GRENADE!" Ok so my memory really sucks, but I know it goes something like that. It's still a timeless classic. More Songs with Inspirations Testament's Disciples of the Watch was inspired by The Children of the Corn. Kreator's Bringer of Torture was inspired by the song "My God. My Father" by the Kermits, and Stream of Conciousness was inspired by "Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul". |
