the sabbath bloody sabbath video does have the end cut, as for the timing parts of it look like ozzy is really crap at synching then other parts it looks like he is just pissing about so its kind of hard to tell whats going on

rippa32 07-17-2006 11:44 PM

I should really get that DVD, I might get The Last Supper as well.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 01:20 AM

Just a question, are any of you guys into any Doom?

rippa32 07-18-2006 03:55 AM

I am, in fact I have just started posting in the Stoner/Doom thread.

Although ive always felt that only the first 4 Sabbath albums influenced doom, the rest although heavy kinda lost the "Doom" sound to it.
Just a question, are any of you guys into any Doom?
I'm a huge fan of doom.

Brew 07-18-2006 02:44 PM

Doom is still a kickass game, the sub-genre of metal is pretty kickass aswell.

Deth 07-18-2006 06:57 PM

I just aquired Sabbath's first 3 albums

I need more Sabbath fast. I'm planning on getting Vol 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Heaven and Hell rather quickly.

shadow_stalker 07-19-2006 01:51 AM

i think the only doom stuff i really have is Cathedral, still kicks arse though

Hehe, doom is a good game.

Also to Deth, theres some good choices there I would also add Sabotage to that list.

I would recommend you Mob Rules. It's my favorite Sabbath album.

AA-12 07-19-2006 12:16 PM

Mob Rules is fantastic.

Brew 07-19-2006 01:42 PM

Nuts to making a list of albums to buy...buy them all!

rippa32 07-19-2006 07:54 PM

I agree :thumb:, but considering buying them all at the same time is kinda silly. A list is a nice way to prioritise(sp) I think.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-20-2006 01:50 AM

I just got Black Sabbath and Reunion from the library

rippa32 07-20-2006 02:46 AM

Hey nice. Is reunion any good? I already have Past Lives and i'm not in any rush for another live album.

pate 07-20-2006 10:44 AM

Reunion sucks hard.

rippa32 07-20-2006 05:44 PM

Whats wrong with it? Ozzy's ageing vocals? The greatest hits style setlist?

pate 07-20-2006 06:57 PM

Mainly the vocals. As I recall, the sound isn't that great either. And Ozzy never shuts up also, during non-vocal parts.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-20-2006 11:34 PM

It's not that bad.

pate 07-20-2006 11:36 PM

Ah, maybe I just don't like live albums with Ozzy on them, as I detest Past Lives/Live at Last even more than I detest Reunion.

rippa32 07-21-2006 02:56 AM

Really? I found Past Lives to be very good.

shadow_stalker 07-21-2006 09:38 AM
Hey nice. Is reunion any good? I already have Past Lives and i'm not in any rush for another live album.
i think reunion is a very good live album, not up to the standards of past lives but still very good. despite what alot of people think i still say ozzy sounds good on it, maybe not as good as he was in the past but compare it to last years ozzfest performances by sabbath and it blows them away
And Ozzy never shuts up also, during non-vocal parts.
would you prefer if he just sang the words then just stood still while the insturmental parts are on? one of the reasons i like listening to sabbath live is because they get the crowd going and talk to them (well ozzy does Iommi just stands there like a log and moves about 2 foot during the whole set), its alot better than when bands go up play their msuic then bugger off at the end of the night

Well, I would rather him shut the hell up during guitar solos, for starters.

shadow_stalker 07-22-2006 01:34 AM

he deosnt talk non stop through all of them, there are just parts where he does abit more talking than others

rippa32 07-22-2006 08:07 PM

I never noticed him talking during guitar solos in Past Lives.

pate 07-22-2006 10:41 PM

I meant Reunion.

rippa32 07-23-2006 03:37 AM

Ah, I just assumed you were reffering to what Ozzy does live in general. I gotta admit though talking during a solo is kinda disrespectful to Iommi.

pate 07-23-2006 10:13 AM

Agreed.

rippa32 07-23-2006 08:22 PM

Has anyone here seen Ozzy live with sabbath or solo? Id always heard he put on a good show but he was a bit boring from what I saw on the Never Say Die DVD.

shadow_stalker 07-24-2006 11:35 AM

i was going to see him but he had his quad crash the day after i bought a ticket :(

i chose to see ozzy over Iron Maiden aswell
