Or do your own screen-printing. It's not too complicated, and it'll cost about 30-40 pounds (that's paint, which is expensive for this type, though you can do it with acrylic mixed with Textile Medium, and there's the screen-mesh, and the squidgy to apply the paint).
That's a brilliant idea, I'm gonna be on the lookout for typewriters now!

I like the drawing of an Incan Sun God.:p
 thanks...

Today my mum tells me my grandpa has a couple of typewriters he's trying to get rid of! After I bought one, argh. But it only cost me £5, you should easily find one for that or cheaper if you keep a look out in charity shops :thumb:

Making space cakes today! Does this belong in DIY? I hope so, I have some questions...

Converge#12 05-28-2006 11:09 AM

Does anyone have a Malcolm X stencil or know where I can find one?

A good photo of X and a tutorial on photo-to-stencil conversion.

He was an asshole at one point in his life but then he got cooler.

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 12:14 PM

Sorry, I don't look up to racists.

coheneran 05-28-2006 01:03 PM

Whatever Mr. David Byrne Was A Saint.

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 01:09 PM

Agreed.

coheneran 05-28-2006 01:27 PM

You know he was a pro-fascist right?

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 01:31 PM

lol, David Byrne from the Talking Heads, man. The guy in my avatar.

coheneran 05-28-2006 01:38 PM

He preached black superiority before he traveled to Mecca and realized he was wrong so then he began to preach racial equality. So like I said before, he was an asshole but then he changed his ways.

Too bad he was assasinated kind of soon after that, and is generally remembered for preaching black superiority.

Well I still don't support violence, and he still used his influence mainly to advocate hate and prejudice. I don't care if he changed his mind later, he was a racist for most of his life.

Like Bin Laden.

asdf 05-28-2006 01:48 PM
Like Bin Laden.
Explain.

coheneran 05-28-2006 01:57 PM

Bin Laden preached Muslim superiority (by blowing things up), and when he killed three thousand people and set off a chain of events that started a world war against the middle east, he saw the error of his ways and hasn't attacked anyone since, but instead wanders the mountains in solitude and ponders, with the occasional prophetic message of peace.

That's not true in the least. He still advocates war against America.

Converge#12 05-28-2006 01:59 PM

Honestly I only asked cause my friend wants a Malcolm X shirt. Yes, Malcolm X was a jerk. But this isnt the politics thread.

coheneran 05-28-2006 02:02 PM

Look what you did Converge! You're just like Bin Laden! You set off a dangerous series of events by making one silly little statement (and somewhere, three thousand lives are dying).

Guys, I was kidding about the whole Bin Laden thing.

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 02:03 PM

So what point were you trying to make?

coheneran 05-28-2006 02:06 PM

What are you talking about? It was a friendly exchange of insults and talking crap at each other!

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 02:07 PM

Oh, sweet! You filthy racist pig!

coheneran 05-28-2006 02:08 PM
Oh, sweet! You filthy racist pig!
Dude, harsh. I have a porcine left ventricle which I'm very sensitive about.

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 02:11 PM

Soo-eeeeeeeeee!

/hopes you get that

coheneran 05-28-2006 02:18 PM

Hah! Nailed you!
