im really digging vatican shadow (minimal syth/industrial/noise)[/QUOTE]

yeah they were in St. Louis weren't they, or was that the night before?

I would have loved to be there but unfortunately science hasn't figured out how to allow me to be in two places at once.

Lovin' me some Cathy Davey, specifically, the live versions of Universe Tipping and Little Red. She is amazing live. Also diggin' Holy Moly.

Rites of Spring is amazing, I wish I knew more orchestrated pieces that were as inventive sounding.

Blake Babies - Sunburn
Lustmord - The Place Where The Black Stars Hang
Stabbing Westward - Ungod (I used to listen to this when I was like 11 or 12, wow I must be depressed)

kitsch 09-21-2011 11:16 AM

is stabbing westward more industrial or more alt rock? ive been going thru an industrial streak lately.

sweboy 09-21-2011 11:45 AM

Animal Collective - Feels
Wolves in the Throne Room - Celestial Lineage

they straddle the line, very aggro like most "nu-metal" bands of the early 90's but also pretty tech-y with a hard edged electronic sound. The singer just happens to have a ballsy voice capable of aggression and squalls of melody, and the band sounds like they try and are capable of making good songs. It all ends in pop hooks and playing towards those affections, but I was certainly a fanboy from a young age. Listening to them now makes a lot of sense, strangely.

you can see the seeds of the branches that you are precariously perched upon now?

SugarCoatedSour 09-21-2011 02:07 PM

it would seem so, that and the ex is finally with another guy so the music carries some emotional baggage

DBlitz 09-29-2011 10:52 AM

^ lol. actually listened to "east hastings" a couple of hours ago, forgot how epic it was.

img tags were done away with entirely at one point, due to people hacking and posting pornographic material throughout the whole forum. this was years ago though. i guess no one begged for them to return to this subforum.
