against me were great
they played TSR, Pints of Guiness, Sink florida Sink, Cliche Guavera, Those Anarcho Punx..., and one other song i dont remember.
nothing off of SFAFC.
and ALL of them drank beers while playing
That's great news.

AndreTheHyena 08-10-2006 11:34 PM

My myspace got deleted, and I'm pissed.

ATM 08-10-2006 11:34 PM

Why'd it get deleted?

AndreTheHyena 08-10-2006 11:44 PM

No idea. It was without warning.

asdf 08-10-2006 11:47 PM

That's very strange.

Today I went to a friend's comedy show. It was awesome, but it just made me really nervous/excited for my band's gig tomorrow. It's our final show.

Brain Toad 08-11-2006 12:08 AM

Probably offended someone. I don't think it takes much effort to get someone's profile deleted. I know someone who got their profile deleted just because a former classmate thought she was disrespecting someone with her page title thing.

Why is it your final show?

AndreTheHyena 08-11-2006 12:20 AM

That's ridiculous. They should at least give you a chance to remove the offending material, if that's the case.

four out of the five members (meaning all but me) are going off to college. Even though two of them are going to college in town, they wont want to be in a band together or with me.

We weren't even meant to be a band anyway. We just formed on a whim for our school variety show, and ended up doing a few more things. Tomorrow we're playing at some bar for an hour and it's going to be awesome.

I mean, if we knew we were going to last past March, would we have named our band "Volrath, The fallen"?

What kind of music do you play?

sketchyjoe 08-11-2006 08:25 AM

I played an excellent drinking game last night. Now it's 2:30 and I'm already pissed.

Instrumental Jazz-Rock? I don't even know. We do mostly covers, but covers that a lot of people (at least in my age group) wouldn't know. Estradasphere, Herbie Hancock, Jaga Jazzist, Frank Zappa, Uz Jsme Doma, King Crimson, Gravity (the tuba ensemble)...

It's fun stuff.

Anxious 08-11-2006 10:14 AM

That sounds challenging.

asdf 08-11-2006 11:10 AM

Yeah, but a few of the people in my band are actually really talented musicians. I'm probably the weakest member of the band, but that's okay, because I'm the bassist.

http://www.myspace.com/volraththeband

There's a really crappy recording of our cover of an estradasphere song. It was from our first performance back in march, and the quality is really poor.

Yeah, I know. But keep in mind it's a cover band, and it's just for fun.

I'm theoretically also in a ska band.

World Burns To Death 08-11-2006 12:55 PM

I'm in too many bands to actually be in any. except myspace.com/incubatingdinosaurhatchers \m/

Song.not.found.

Also friend request.

Liebensaft 08-11-2006 02:17 PM

I recently joined a band my friends had.

http://www.myspace.com/themidnightcowboys

We suck, but it's fun. And I think we have a show this month? Maybe.

Bukowski 08-11-2006 05:39 PM

My friend's old band split, and me and him and another guy are forming a thrash band. We need a bassist though. I'm on drums.

Me and another friend make noisy, atonal stuff. We're gonna record soon, and I want it to sound as much like the album in my avatar as possible. I'm on drums and vocals for this one.

I want to go on tour. That'd be so much fun. If the thrash band works out, who knows.

sketchyjoe 08-11-2006 06:46 PM

I've been in a series of theoretical bands.

Nerdcore753 08-11-2006 07:14 PM

I was in a pop-punk band that turned to playing alt. metal.

Then I was in a metalcore/hardcore band.

Haven't been in anything since.

Excursions 08-11-2006 07:43 PM

I'm sort of in a Pink Floyd cover band. Pretty much we sit in a garage and do salvia.

Anxious 08-11-2006 07:49 PM

I got fed up with making a band. So I do my own ****.

Brain Toad 08-11-2006 09:42 PM

I was in a theoretical ska band once.

Now I just write my own stuff that is somewhat decent, but I get lazy and don't finish stuff off.

Glitterati 08-11-2006 09:44 PM

I said to my friend today that I'm gonna form a screamo band with me on vocals. And we're gonna do screamo covers of Leonard Cohen songs.

Lazybassplr56 08-11-2006 10:35 PM

I'm in a metal band. We've played a couple of shows already and everything is good.

TakeWarning 08-11-2006 11:19 PM

I'm in two real bands, we both played at school yesterday.

I'm also in a theoretical band who are kind of broken up, which is a shame becuase we had a really really good name.

**** yes! i love Incubating Dinosaur Hatchers. I'm Jakey on myspace btw.

And P.S. How come you forgot to record? If you guys make a CD I'll buy one.

_JR 08-12-2006 10:54 AM

i own a record label/ recording studio with my friend. if anyone in the greenbay, wisconsin area wants to record. were your guys

asdf 08-12-2006 11:16 AM

Man, my band's last show was so much fun. By far our best performance in our 5 months of existence. I'm so glad my brother actually put his recording equiptment to use and recorded it.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 08-12-2006 11:55 AM

i have yet to record anything live with my band. it would be fun though.

Liebensaft 08-12-2006 12:23 PM

At our shows, everyone in the band gets drunk, and anyone who is coming is usually going to bring or share booze, or bring weed. I've been sober for some of a show before, and the music was still good. But everyone enjoys themselves no matter what.

At the last one, there were only 2 bands because it was snowing heavily that night. We ended up having a snowball fight in a library basement. Everyone fell on the floor afterwards because it was wet.

Our shows rule.

Lazybassplr56 08-12-2006 07:15 PM

One time me and the band got super drunk and tried to play. It was only practice but is so bad. I was so drunk, I couldn't even feel my bass. My hands were numb.
