I do not dislike pitchfork for giving low ratings to bands I like. I despise pitchfork for being pseudo-indie (but really quite corporate) frighteningly powerful entity that trades good reviews for any number of favors including exclusive interviews, appearances at Pitchfork sponsored events,... it's all about who scratches their back. If you're in a band on tour and can't schedule a 3-hour interview while packing up the tour bus, you are going to see the 6.2 end of the rating spectrum.

or if you aren't super above p4k and play extraneously inaccessible music (search tima firmosa; it's worth a 4.0/10 [if that], coming from an improv nut who likes all those artists)
