Yeah I might be able to make it the 4/5th

Foxfire 03-23-2005 09:37 PM

I couldn't do either of those. :p

Oh well.

I can, however, do the second and third...

Penaltyplaybass 03-23-2005 09:38 PM

ok. Theres about a 1/3 chance ill get there tho. Were on vacation, and im not sure my parents will drive me to guitar center that far from where were staying so i can meet some kids i met on the internet.

Maybe i can talk them into letting me drive...that might work.

PaulSimonon 03-23-2005 09:38 PM

Purple Onion is pretty cool.

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 09:55 PM

This project on Paul Allen is going to kill me.

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 09:59 PM

It's for computer science.
And my computer science teacher likes metal: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Judas Priest, Metallica, etc...
I guess that's what happens when you grow up in the 70's and 80's.

JoeDaddio 03-23-2005 10:01 PM

What's up ladies?

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 10:07 PM

I'm almost done the project part of my project, I still need to make research notes and a research log though.
Research is for douchebags, it's way easier to just get the information as you go.

Agreed.

But for websites and such it's a pain in the *** to write a bibliography.

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 10:27 PM

I don't know the proper way to do it, so I just put the URL for each site. :)

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 10:30 PM

Hahaha, I am the worst procrastinator ever.

Or am I the best?

That makes me think: If I always put stuff off and pull a good grade on it, am I a good procrastinator or a bad procrastinator?

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 10:35 PM

At least I don't need to lie in my research log, I'll just put everything down that I did it tonight. It's not like I'll lose marks, I have done this entire project tonight. :D

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 10:41 PM

You a fan of Iron Maiden Spaceman?

FlamingCouch 03-23-2005 10:46 PM

Good procrastinator.

You're like me, you pull your best material under pressure. I had an essay that was to be done for tomorrow, but I mixed up the oral presentation and the essay due date and actually had my essay done a day early! Still, I finished it all in about an hour and a half of work (and I say that cause last night I'd do it for 10 minutes, then do something else for an hour :))

And, I did the best speech on my essay out of the whole class so far, even though I didn't have it cause I couldn't print it.

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 10:51 PM

I stayed up until 12 on a project that was due the next day.............. woke up at 4 to finish it.

Got an A :thumb:

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 10:58 PM
You a fan of Iron Maiden Spaceman?
Only a little bit.

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 10:59 PM

oh......

I was just wondering why it is that the main force and sound of Iron Maiden revolves around Steve Harris's playing, but when they're live you can barely hear him.

FlamingCouch 03-23-2005 11:01 PM

Nice.

My worst one ever;

Two years ago, I wrote a 6 page essay for french class in 10th grade. My computer was messed and didn't like Microsoft Word too much, so my saved version was read-only, no problem, I just copied it onto a new sheet. Then, the computer decided to freeze. I was so pissed, and here I was doing it a second time. Finally, it's done. I save, FREEZES AGAIN. The third time, I'd been doing it that whole afternoon, night and everything. I had to rewrite it a third time by memory, but saved every ten minutes this time. Strangely enough, after writing and rewriting my old essay for a long time, the new built-from-memory and new stuff added got me an A, which was good, cause I woulda burned the school down if I woulda stayed up till 6 AM doing that essay only to get a B or C.

edit: in reference to the procrastination topic.

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 11:02 PM

I still have plenty of time to work though, it's only midnight. :thumb:

I'm a good procrastinator, I've done a project in one night before and got a 95% or so on it.
And I usually write essays the night before they are due, no matter how long I am given.

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 11:05 PM

I despise long-term projects.....

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 11:05 PM

I've had this project for 5 or 6 weeks, and here I am doing the whole the the night before it's due.

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 11:07 PM

Not just projects either.

I'm sitting here looking at two assignments: an entire Chapter in my Science book
and a History Study Guide.

I've had time to do both............. but I'm gonna be up for a while just finishing them.

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 11:11 PM

Now that my report is done, I get to make research notes, which, for any normal person, would have been made prior to writing the paper. :p

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 11:12 PM

Hahaha, I've made up so much stuff about projects.

80,805th post in thread!!

BeastontheBass 03-23-2005 11:14 PM

ya making up stuff is fun. ive learned that it works alot better when its a project based on opinion and not fact though.

cliffburtonrules 03-23-2005 11:17 PM
ya making up stuff is fun. ive learned that it works alot better when its a project based on opinion and not fact though.
Good point.

I like stuff that I have to write my opinion on. Like I kick *** on creative writing assignments. But if I have to write like a factual paper.............. forget about it.

FlamingCouch 03-23-2005 11:17 PM

Well that's certain, with fact it has to be actual things and whatnot.

FlamingCouch 03-23-2005 11:18 PM

I like papers where I can choose my own topic, or it's something that really interests me. If I can get into it, chances are it'll be done faster.

Yman 03-23-2005 11:19 PM

i pretty much hate papers in general. we should have like discussions or something instead. VIVA LA REVOLUTION

PaulSimonon 03-23-2005 11:20 PM

I think that it is the most fun to make things up in a research paper myself. Just something totally random. Say, on a certain medicine "According to research at Yale University, 9 out of 10 wildebeasts subjected to testing on this drug did not survive. The other was accidently fed placebos." Stuff like that.
