Fine, maybe that was a little over the top......
|
most guitarists that shred alot are overrated. That doesn't mean theyre bad.
and this shouldnt be in the death heads thread lawl. |
So, annihilating the notdeathmetal "Jeff Loomis" from the discussion....
....I like Bloodbath. |
well as long as we're talking about metal and not bringing about a flamefest... why are people so tightass about whats talked about in what thread? like i know itd be weird if emo got discussed in here but jesus christ getting off subject a little bit is ok, we'll eventually go back to talking about death metal.
and anyone heard Naphobia? |
No.
|
chuck sculdiner aka the greatest death metal guitarist of all time is featured on the first track of "of Hell"
you can add chuck to my love affairs. |
I'm sure we can.
|
You don't have to whore people out all the time. We know who Chuck is, we know who James Murphy is, and ****, we know who Jeff Loomis is.
|
And we know who Ray Charles is, so don't even go there...
///half ass attempt at humour. |
more like failure at humor
|
You don't have to whore people out all the time. We know who Chuck is, we know who James Murphy is, and ****, we know who Jeff Loomis is.
wtf? it doesn't matter how obscure an artist is if i whore them or not. its just my overall liking to the artist. just cause you know them doesn't mean i wont whore them. everybody loves chuck but ill still whore him around as the greatest of greats for dm. and speaking of common people i whore, add dave mustaine. |
thats just annoying
|
stop ****ing Whoring People Shut Up We Don't Care
|
im sorry. i'll go listen to some real dm now like meteora.
well if someone was actually talking about a dm band right now id talk about that but as you can see, no one is steppin up to the plate. |
because youre taking up all the space ejaculating all over about your idols
|
shut up, new guy. i dont see you talking about dm.
|
Ignore him, it's either Elim or another random troll.
He does have a point, however. |
all this name dropping, pigeonholing and "HOW CAN U NOT LIKE DIS HWO CAN U LIKE DIS" bullshit is sucking all the fun out of music.
no, i havent heard some random ****ing demo recorded by Chuck's neighbour's third born son's nephew and no, I dont ****ing plan on it. how about instead of all the name dropping or telling us to check **** out based on who worked on it you try to actually persuade people into listening to it. **** |
Coke, in Canada, are words like "color" and "neighbor" spelled with the "ou" all the time, or does it matter?
|
I think it'll come up with a little red underliny thing in microsoft word if you say color in canada
|
"ou" is a European thing, the U.K. more specifically. I think it's the same for Canada (British Commonwealth).
I use it more often than not because I was homeschooled by Scotch grandparents, though I live in America. |
"our" instead of "or" and "re" instead of "er". Etc.
And yeah guys stop posting stupid **** just to keep this alive. Srsly. Just because some trolls picked on you doesn't mean you have to hunt down every single release in the world and go "have you heard this"? |

Job For A Cowboy rules

bullshit
|
Not when such a statement is in reference to the Doom EP.
Scientifically proven. :o In all seriousness, some of the best death metal vocals evar. |
Doom ep is horrible. Forget all gay Death Metal/Metalcore hybrids except for All Shall Perish. The rest can just give up because they suck tbh.
|
dude, the red chord.
and doom is pretty bad. |

agreed, although i dont really like ASP either. metalcore is pretty much a "no" for me across the board |
Converge, Botch, Posion The Well, Dillinger Escape Plan (not really metalcore) are all awesome. ASP is pretty good, and The Red Chord is just death metal.
|
not really. I think we've had this discussion. Clients and Prey for Eyes are about 50% metalcore and guy's vocals have always been in the hardcore vein.
Even Fused has alot of metalcore/hardcore. Some of the moderately fast riffs with d-beat drumming are definitely hardcore and some of the breakdowns are definitely metalcore-influenced. I mean, compare the red chord to any actual death metal band and the differences are very obvious. |
Where's Coke, I don't feel like arguing :p
Fused was Death Metal/Grind Clients was Death Metal with Hardcore influences Prey is Death Metal with grind and hardcore influences, but it's really just Death Metal. |
So I bought Skeletonwitch's album Beyond the Permafrost on a whim, which was hard because their name doesnt really say "Hey this aint a joke", and Im actually surprised by it so far. Pretty cool thrash riffs and some "meh" melodic death riffs.
|

I honestly don't think you know much about hardcore. =/ Not trying to be an elitist or anything. That said The Red Chord are one of the few good deathcore bands, and one of the few bands of the genre actually influenced by hardcore. |
if it werent for jfac's cookie monster vocals i would like them, but not a big fan of those

my one friend has that shirt.
if it werent for jfac's cookie monster vocals i would like them, but not a big fan of those
not a big fan of growls, or not a fan of johnny's growls? and i love johnny's growls, they're mad unique. |
You could argue that there's a slight hardcore influence in Red Chord's delivery, but that would be a pretty weak argument. Fused has a grindcore influence, yeah, but hardcore is pushing it.
I always wonder why if a band has a tiny hardcore influence and breakdowns they're deathcore, but if they have a prominent hardcore influence and no breakdowns they're just Entomed. I ono!? |
Second album has more hardcore parts.
and its because metal kids didn't hear of hardcore before 2003, so they think bands like Norma Jean and such are hardcore. |
Second album has more hardcore parts.
I don't even think Clients has that many more, I mean they're there but I think they're just accented by the extremely generic metalcore-esque production. |
