Do bands ever play in China?
rarely. usually, even if they're GONNA come, things go terribly wrong. the rolling stones' SARS-related cancellation of their tour comes to mind. deep purple came once in maybe 2002. otherwise, not a lot of bands have come.

we got the backstreet boys once :/

Jev 02-02-2006 11:05 AM

I see. That must suck.

That must suck for you dude.

Britton 02-02-2006 12:10 PM

We get some good concerts here.

But the real music is up the road in austin.
I can imagine nothing better than Dream Theater followed by megadeth.
Testament followed by Megadeth.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-03-2006 07:03 AM

Testament and DT are both very average.

Testament less so

Jev 02-03-2006 10:16 AM

Never really liked Testament. I'll stick to my wankery.

Aw3someman 02-03-2006 04:17 PM

Symphony X then Megadeth

Quickdrop 02-03-2006 05:27 PM

No. DT followed by 'Deth followed by Opeth followed by 'Tallica.

That'd do it for me, i get a stiffy just thinkin about it.

Bazarov 02-03-2006 06:35 PM

I laugh at the thought of Megadeth opening for Opeth.

But shoot it could happen. Dark Tranquility is opening for Devildriver here in San Diego... it's not right.

That's jacked up (I really like DT's newest album)

Just the thought of Megadeth and Metallica in the same bill gives me shivers

You put that line-up on backwards and it'll work.

Aw3someman 02-04-2006 05:47 PM

Best one ever

Megadeth followed by more Megadeth with a little 'Tallica on the side. And by "little" i mean shitloads of 'em

Jev 02-05-2006 11:46 AM

I wish Metallica and Megadeth would get together for a concert sometime. I mean, Dave's apologised, it just seems to be Lars and James that are the problem.

I agree.

That would be cool. But, Metallica would get more fans and Dave knows that, and Dave probably doesn't like that fact.

Though I'm just guessing about that. When I went to see Metallica, tix sold out in one hour. When I saw Megadeth the tix didn't even sell out. And Metallica was in a stadium.

Jev 02-05-2006 02:09 PM

I like the fact that Megadeth don't sell out. It makes it more special somehow.

Bazarov 02-05-2006 02:18 PM

Uncrowded shows are nice..

The Megadeth concert was really vacant until Dream Theater's set came about, that's when the arena was really starting to fill up.

Fear Factory got barely any attention there was probably only 100 people when they were on stage, and only about 10 were getting into the music, the singer started to criticize us.

Jev 02-05-2006 02:21 PM

Wow that's harsh. I'd hate to have only a handfew of people watching my band at a major gig.

Quickdrop 02-05-2006 02:45 PM

My buddy saw FF live, and he said they were the worst band he'd ever seen. If thats the case, then i dont blame the people at the show for not watching...

Jev 02-05-2006 02:53 PM

has your buddy seen My Chemical Romance live?

Quickdrop 02-05-2006 02:54 PM
has your buddy seen My Chemical Romance live?
NO. If he had, he wouldnt be my buddy.:smash:

I like FF they where the only band that talked to the audience, the only thing that Burton said was," these people tell me to get out of your seats, but i guess you are already drunk to do that"

True they did do a bit of talking. Basically all Dave said was "I live up the street from here" "and goodbye"
I didn't really hear him say that. All I really remember about them was that, the singer started yelling, "Hey! Hey! Hey!" nobody did anything and he said, something about the only true fans being up front. I was really to busy waiting in line to get some autographs.

Jev 02-06-2006 01:41 AM
NO. If he had, he wouldnt be my buddy.:smash:
I haven't seen them myself but from what I've heard they really are a contender for worst live band.

Dave probably didn't talk much because he wanted to get more songs in.

ghettoeddo 02-06-2006 02:08 AM

actually, when i saw em on gigantour...they had this awesome pyrotechnic stuff.

ok but i ain't gonna lie...three doors down's pyrotechnics were a lot cooler :upset: they had green/blue/red/yellow fire

Sph 02-06-2006 06:34 AM
Dave probably didn't talk much because he wanted to get more songs in.
It'd still be nice if he talked a little more than he normally does.

NP: Norther - Tornado Of Souls

Anyone heard this? Not a bad cover.

Jev 02-06-2006 10:02 AM

I've only heard Norther's cover of The Final Countdown. Which is okay.

No I haven't. But I imagine it's really good

when did they do it?

Jev 02-06-2006 01:19 PM

How many cover songs do Norther do?

Metallica pyro show > Megadeth pyro show

Megadeth only did a few blasts of fire and that was it. But a very awesome show nonetheless.

Father_Jack 02-06-2006 03:32 PM

Since we are on the topic of pyrotechnics and the like. Just thought I would post a couple of random pictures from a gig I went to last night.

Guitar on Fire

Firework thing on guitar

The guy's tone sucked and his playing was ok. But the crowd seemed to like the tricks. T'was ok.

/knows this has nothing to do with megadeth

Adam Bomb? Man I saw him a while ago. His setlist was pretty long but he was good.

/still off-topic, just shocked someone else knows Adam Bomb.

Yeah songs were good, and he did stuff like using a drum stick to play (the drummer looked well pissed when he took one of his sticks lol). But his tone was aweful, far too much presence, it was just sooo piercing. Seemed like a cool guy though.

Jev 02-07-2006 11:27 AM

He had a different drummer when i saw him. A better looking one.

Jev 02-09-2006 01:53 AM

Don't let the Megadeth thread die :(

Megadeth should have their own MTV Icon, minus the crap covers.

blue3 02-09-2006 02:05 AM

Yeah, that'd be awesome.

Father 02-09-2006 02:18 AM

Yeah, But MTV is sh!t

Jev 02-09-2006 03:33 AM

True, they'd probably all let us down with Greenday playing a punk version of A Tout Le Monde.
