MetalOz 07-22-2007 07:28 PM

Another one is Biomechanical, they sound like power metal meets Pantera...

Twelfth Gate has good vocals. They're usually described as Progressive Thrash, but there's a lot of power in them.

Dimmu Burger 07-22-2007 07:43 PM

Sweet, I'll have to check those out. Thanks guys!

CityOfEvil 07-23-2007 10:00 AM

Symphony X has really great vocals too. Allen has an amazing voice IMO.

Lord Abortion 07-23-2007 12:53 PM

What ho

How's the new 3IOB shaping up for everyone?
It's catchy as hell for me.

Steerpike 07-23-2007 01:14 PM

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.

But Against the Wind is swiftly becoming one of my favourite songs. Dungeon is fucking awesome.

Lord Abortion 07-23-2007 01:17 PM

It's very very cool.
Massively uplifting, in the One shot at Glory stakes (got to be the most uplifting song ever.

How are you Alexi?

It's decent, but better than their first two albums imo.

Riva 07-23-2007 04:43 PM

I still like Advance And Vanquish better. And Dungeon does indeed still own.

Stormrider 07-23-2007 04:47 PM

Under Jolly Roger was great. Finally gave then a listen.

For Symphony X, I saw them live a week ago;was great. Sea ofLies was the best part of the night for me. Russel does indeed have a great voice.

Riva 07-23-2007 04:52 PM

Yeah, Running Wild is an awesome band.

Shattered_Future 07-23-2007 09:15 PM

Driving around to Running Wild is awesomesauce.

And Symphony X live is still the best band I've seen live so far.

Stormrider 07-23-2007 09:18 PM

PASSING THROUGH THE VOID

his voice was incredible. They played The Odyssey(sp?) as an encore.

mikem1234 07-24-2007 03:26 PM
Rhapsody is simply awesome. All of their albums are great.
Yuck...I could do without Rhapsody. Man, I can you stand that stuff?

Shattered_Future 07-24-2007 03:36 PM
PASSING THROUGH THE VOID

Man, I thought that was a NYC only thing. Sellouts...

pate 07-24-2007 03:46 PM

They did that in Chicago too, I hear.

Lord Abortion 07-26-2007 08:08 AM

I'm going to see Dream Theater again soon, SX are supporting, should be great.

MetalOz 07-26-2007 01:04 PM

Anyone heard the new Slough Feg?

LegionsofMarduk 07-26-2007 01:56 PM
I'm going to see Dream Theater again soon, SX are supporting, should be great.
That would be really good. Somewhere I've got a vid clip of me attempting to play Inferno. I've got the intro and main riff down, just not up to tempo. I can play along with it at about .7 speed in windows media. Any faster than that and my fingers end up tied in a knot.

I am gonna see 3 Inches of Blood in a couple weeks. They're supporting Behemoth. Should be a good show.

NP: Blind Guardian - And The Story Ends

Deth 07-26-2007 02:15 PM

3 Inches of Blood and Behemoth does not seem like a likely pairing. 3 Inches are about as much fun as music will allow though imo.

LegionsofMarduk 07-26-2007 02:16 PM

No I didn't think so either, but they're both ozzfest bands just playing a few off-fest dates together. Whatever. It should be a good show.

Riva 07-26-2007 02:28 PM

I dunno, I can see a lot of Behemoth fans enjoying 3 Inches Of Blood.
Anyone heard the new Slough Feg?
I haven't, but I've heard that they returned to the same style as Traveller.

Stoic 07-26-2007 04:16 PM

^You wish :\

Riva 07-26-2007 05:23 PM

Oh? What direction have they taken?

Stormrider 10-22-2007 04:47 PM

Finally found it! ****ing page 14 of R&M.

Anyway, so I listened to Persuader's The Hunter today, and it was great. Especially the title track.

Anyone else?

Riva 10-22-2007 04:58 PM

I prefer Evolution Purgatory.

pate 10-22-2007 06:20 PM

I like Evolution Purgatory and When Eden Burns.

Stormrider 10-22-2007 06:22 PM

NP Running Wild

I only had Under Jolly Roger for a while, but then got Port Royal. Much better overall IMO. The title track off UJR was the only amazing track on the album for me.

Deth 10-22-2007 06:25 PM

NP: Death or Glory

Have to love Running Wild.

Riva 10-22-2007 06:39 PM

Get Black Hand Inn, Jammie.

pate 10-22-2007 06:58 PM

I only have The Brotherhood, and I don't really like it.

Stormrider 10-22-2007 07:08 PM
Get Black Hand Inn, Jammie.
Yeah, thats' the one I wanted to get next.

Along with Blazen Stone and Death or Glory, but I won't rush into them.

Shadows Within 10-26-2007 05:53 PM

Anyone heard of Aina?

MetalOz 10-26-2007 07:46 PM
Anyone heard of Aina?
A lot like Avantasia, a bunch of different vocalist playing different characters in a metal opera but not quite up to par considering all the big names involved

Tyler 10-26-2007 08:00 PM

Aina is pretty average and bland.

ExitWound 11-01-2007 06:14 PM

Gamma Ray's new album comes out in a few weeks in Europe. Some of the promo material is availalbe though.

Here are three tracks from the uncoming album. Kai Hansen has never sounded stronger, both through his guitar and his voice.
I only have The Brotherhood, and I don't really like it.
You're missing out. Go get Port Royale. The Brotherhood is newer and is kind of weak.

Angmar 11-01-2007 10:42 PM

I have not heard Port Royale, but of the three I have I like Black Hand Inn the most.

NP: Blind Guardian - Into the Storm

FatalEnergy 11-01-2007 10:44 PM

Port Royale is by far my favorite. I highly recommend it.
