Shadows 10-07-2009 03:18 PM

I've been thinking about getting a MacBook...it would be super handy to have a laptop that I can throw all of my music software on and carry with me everywhere. But considering how expensive my current computer was, I'll have to wait.

adb 10-07-2009 03:19 PM

lolmac

Deth 10-07-2009 03:21 PM

Shadows 10-07-2009 03:22 PM

yeah thats the only reason i was interested in one actually, then one day at work i was talking about the pros and cons of macs and my friend was like "ill give you a macbook pro for $50

so i couldnt resist

Tyler 10-07-2009 03:36 PM

I'm not a big fan of TB drives to be honest. Just more data to lose.

Just tell me you arent getting an external TB. Because that's a waste of money. Externals are terrible. I will never buy another.

Permanent Solution 10-07-2009 03:37 PM

I only back up my music currently.

Should start backing up movies and schoolwork but mehhh

Externals are good if you only have a laptop :p

Jaundice 10-07-2009 03:37 PM

A script on this page has stopped working due to low memory available.

I assume I'm the only one getting this ?

I have an external for backing up my music and some large files.

Looks like it. Let me know if it persists.
I have an external for backing up my music and some large files.
I've had too many bad experiences. Internals are cheaper and it's as easy as buying a cheap case if you decide to want to use it externally down the road.

TimJim 10-07-2009 03:40 PM

yeah but idk how to put a bigger internal into a laptop and i need at lest 750GB for all my shizz

Iluvatar 10-07-2009 03:41 PM

but my external hd looks so sexy

edit: you should never have a drive larger than like 320, 500 gigs TOPS

Jaundice 10-07-2009 03:41 PM

well i can't see any one's avatars and a lot of the buttons on my browser aren't showing

i suppose it's my computer doing it's own thing

Oh wait, yeah, this is your end. You're running too many programs or your local cache is too full. You're out of memory.

I have an internal TB......

why is that?

edit@ josh: yeah but what about all the stuff i need off of it, like windows and all the stuff i installed too

Iluvatar 10-07-2009 03:43 PM

drive failure becomes a much bigger and exponentially shittier problem with bigger hd capacity

Jaundice 10-07-2009 03:44 PM

mozilla is the only program i have running except for last.fm and virus protection, hoping its the local cache

Tyler 10-07-2009 03:45 PM
drive failure becomes a much bigger and exponentially pooptier problem with bigger hd capacity
yeah agreed. I have a 640 for media but I'm buying another one for back-up.

I'd buy a TB drive if it was a high quality one (a Raptor maybe idk) and I'd only use it for back-ups. As a failsafe, sure, but never rely on massive drives.

publicastration 10-07-2009 03:46 PM

whenever I come into some money I'm going to get a velociraptor or some **** just to run my os on, and use my TB for storage so it's not in constant use.

TimJim 10-07-2009 03:47 PM

i only have music and watched tv seasons on my TB

Arucard 10-07-2009 03:47 PM

yeah i wanna get a 12000 rpm raptor too, they are awesome

adb 10-07-2009 03:47 PM

so why do you guys need so much hdd space

Carl Sagan 10-07-2009 03:48 PM

so they can talk about it on the internet
