Why would you want to listen to a stereo recording on a 6.1 system?

And besides, what surround sound recordings are mixed for 6.1? In America we do 5.1 and in Germany they do 7.1. But 6.1? Haven't heard of it.

Interstate 03-19-2007 06:28 AM

Man going back to work after a week off is sooo crap.

ATM 03-19-2007 08:06 AM

Argh I know I can't get going this morning.

RedMorningLight 03-19-2007 11:34 AM

Hi, i'm having a second go on the forums after I didnt really get 'into it' the first time, probably because I never introduced myself. I am 17, coming upto 18 from around Nottingham in England and musically i'd say I cover many genres but I can be quite picky within those genres to what I like. I have played bass for a couple years and dabbled with other instruments as i'm lucky to have them around from my dads band. Favourites artists include Incubus, Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, Interpol, Broken Social Scene, The Roots and so on...
...fingers crossed I dont get flamed

Kyle 03-19-2007 11:38 AM

Hey dude, I think I remember you.

I'm the resident Pumpkins fanboy so obviously I like you.

RedMorningLight 03-19-2007 11:46 AM

Oh yeah I think I remember you, theres a few names i've seen I remember. Also I was wondering what the kind of 'etiquette' is on posting reviews? I dont really want to post a second review of an album if it is going to either, 1) Not get read or 2) Just get deleted for re-reviewing a record.

Kyle 03-19-2007 11:53 AM

Ok well as long as there aren't more than 4-5 reviews of an album, you generally won't get flamed. If you are going to re-review an album though, try offer a different perspective, improve upon or just highlight different things to the other review(s).

Some people might flame you for posting reviews of albums that have already been reviewed. I usually flame those people in turn. Review what you want to. Obviously, it's best for the site to have its database expanded and/or get new perspective on already reviewed albums, but if you want to write a review just do it.

RedMorningLight 03-19-2007 12:40 PM

Thanks for the advice guys. I've gone and posted a MSTRKRFT review as a first attempt if you wanna have a look and it was previously unreviewed so I might be keeping everyone happy :]

Sepstrup 03-19-2007 12:42 PM
Yes please flame those people in retaliation, I have nothing better to do than clean it up.
I got back from classes last night and was all like, "Ok, it's 7 O'clock, if I take a nap now, I can wake up maybe in like three hours and start to write my essay and study for my next midterm" and then I woke up 12 hours later.

Neoteric 03-20-2007 12:57 PM

and you felt awake and refreshed when you woke up?

Robert Crumb 03-20-2007 01:01 PM

For a second. And then I remembered I had to write and essay an study for a midterm.

perriwinkle 03-20-2007 01:18 PM

Seconded.

I already feel that 2007 is the year for good albums. So far.
I already feel that 2007 is the year for good albums. So far.
Yeah, there have already been some great ones. My favorites are Busdriver, Of Montreal, Deerhoof, Eluvium, and Dälek. I'm sort of disappointed with the Andrew Bird record, but I'll get over it. The ones I'm anticipating most are, of course, Björk and Radiohead.

I just started listening to the new Low album. I bet it's going to be good.

Sepstrup 03-21-2007 08:32 AM
Kweli tries to mix the ideals of the rap world and the hip-hop world as he balances between the two. None the less, solid album.
Wtf. How are they different?

Man I need to listen to Busdriver.

superpeer 03-21-2007 10:00 AM
Wtf. How are they different?
That's what I was thinking.

Glitterati 03-21-2007 12:29 PM

I'm always up for Deerhoof.

I was walking around the kitchen in my pajamas making breakfast when Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on my door. They gave me a pamphlet inviting me to remember the anniversary of Jesus's death on April 2.

It all happened so fast I couldn't even think of something clever to say.
Hip hop is music you can admit to liking, and rap is what black people listen to.
I thought hip hop was a cultural thing, and rap was the form of music, or something.
