I can't rep aborition or ash OR sack man

and yes, it's an incredible album.

And on a lighter note...

My band has had it's singer for 9 days. On saturday night, we came 3rd in a huge battle of the bands (our live debut, we've only been together for 3 months), beating bands that have been playing and giging for years, and we got invited to open another huge gig with a 20-min slot on tuesday week.

not bad for 9 days, eh?

MAthiAS 02-07-2005 04:53 PM

Awesome Gurs. Have fun with that. Do you have any recordings on the web?

GurS 02-08-2005 01:19 AM

regrettably non yet, but hopefully we'll be recording our debut ep this month, so when we've done that we'll be putting up a track or two from said ep.
I heard that he did get hit by Eddie and broke his leg or ankle and he had to carted on and off the stage... poor guy, I doubt he'd be smiling then...
Come on...it's Dave. He's always smiling.

He'd have the sort of smile which suggests cartoon birds flying round and round his head, but he'd still be smiling...

icebase 02-08-2005 05:39 AM

Guys i think we should do to the mods about this whole de-rep'ing thing. Im sick of it now.

ashman 02-08-2005 06:05 AM
ha, i have 837 or something, thanks to whoever repped me in this thread earlier. i'll rep+ whoever i can now...
There's always one who has to show off... :upset:

P.S. Thanks for the rep :thumb:

well done. where abouts do you live / play?

Lord Abortion 02-08-2005 06:47 AM

alright Gur!

what did you play?

ashman 02-08-2005 07:55 AM

Good job Gur, I'd like to hear some recordings when you do some recording...

the_uber_penguin 02-08-2005 10:21 AM
I think he said one time he got hit really hard by him, not sure if he said he got knocked out.
I just checked on this Mathias, you were right. He spoke of a cut lip and lots of blood and lots of embarressment.

He also said he tore a ligament in his knee jumping off the drum riser, and had to play 12 shows with his leg in plaster of Paris and because of the ramps on and off the stage he had to be literally carried on and off.

Josh 02-08-2005 12:44 PM

ouch, who was it that did that?

IAJP 02-08-2005 12:54 PM

My drummer jumps off his drum riser after we've finnished our gigs.
But in a really dramatic style, looks so silly, he better watch out he could really do himself an injury by the sound of it :p

Josh 02-08-2005 01:08 PM

yeh lol. what songs do you do at your gigs?

Lord Abortion 02-08-2005 03:30 PM

Josh is a twat!!!

he says he's not going to leeds to see maiden... or download to see sabbath!!
Boo!!! hiss!!!

GurS 02-08-2005 03:30 PM
alright Gur!

what did you play?
all our own songs, i'm afraid, so the titles would be somewhat meaningless.

this gig we're playing tuesday week MAY be recorded, so if yes you can expect live mp3's up next week.

Anyway: I just realised that the tape from the Ruskin Arms is the only thing I haven't watched yet on Early Days.

12 Wasted Years > Early Days, in terms of Documentary vs. Documentary. The bit with Derek Riggs on Early Days is from 12 Wasted Years, except only about half the length - if that.

the_uber_penguin 02-08-2005 03:54 PM
ouch, who was it that did that?
Dave.

Lord Abortion 02-08-2005 04:03 PM

I f maiden are at leeds as seems likely... I'm just getting a day ticket on the day maiden are playing so I don't hear the rest of the **** - going all weekend to download though , who else?

Josh 02-08-2005 04:21 PM

i might be able to afford leeds, ollie, but i cant stretch to £135 for download, plus travel and food (and of course alcohol)
by the way, theres buses from newcastle so you can get there easy, check on the download website to see where buses go from to the festival.

and i will also get a leeds day ticket for maiden...

ashman 02-08-2005 04:33 PM

I'll be getting a day ticket too, that's if I can find someone to go with...

willis2441 02-08-2005 05:40 PM

maiden is cool.

led_zep_luvr 02-09-2005 12:28 AM

hello maiden fans

i always thought iron maiden was alright but then i felt like buying the greatest hits. i was quite impressed, i don't know much about iron maiden but i think bruce dickinson is the best singer of them all. they have great musicians. i want some people here to suggest me

1) best iron maiden songs that are not on the edward the great album

2) fairly easy iron maiden song to play on guitar, (not that any iron maiden is easy but the ones that are the least hard to play)

thanks in advance :thumb:

phantom of the opera

CreepingDeath~ 02-09-2005 01:03 AM

Iron Maiden rules :thumb:

I havn't been into them but long, but I have downloaded part of Powerslave, all of The number of the beast, edward the great, and 7th son of a 7th son.

My favorite songs by them are

Hallowed be thy name
Run to the hills
Number of the beast
Fear of the dark
Aces high
Powerslave
The Trooper
etc...

Dannyboy15 02-09-2005 01:18 AM

In the wicker man The verse is kinda easy and so it the pre chorus and chorus. Though like all maiden solo's they'll take you some time.

the_uber_penguin 02-09-2005 03:24 AM

The Wicker Man solo isn't too hard. The only two I can play all the way through (including solos) are Run To The Hills (not at full speed though) and Blood Brothers.

Dannyboy15 02-09-2005 03:57 AM

The trooper solo has me stuck **** you Murray!

Lord Abortion 02-09-2005 06:48 AM

download will be cool and then leeds...
will be maiden!!!!
hahaha
