No. In your opinion it was their peak. In my opinion the first four albums are better than the Black Album in every aspect. Except maybe the lyrics on Kill 'Em All.

Metallica r the reason i got into metal, and i still believe that their first 4 or 5 albums are completley essential to any metal cd collection ( even if they did use sum of dave mustaines material on Kill 'em all and ride the lightning.... not the place for this discussion??) Any way, St Anger is a huge dissapointment, not only because its production was a joke ( i have no idea why u would deliberatly underprodue any album), but because is lyrics suck too (invisibe kid, never seen what he did, got stuck were he hid,..... somthing about a grid - its a bloody joke :D) . When i saw metallica live earlier this year i realised that as much as albums like load make me want to say that metallica r past it, they r still ripping it up on stage - they deffinatly still have what it takes. Also one positive that comes from st angers poor production is that the tracks on the album sound way better than on the album when there played live!

I think I found the dumbest person on earth recently (concerning music). He made this statement about Metallica "All that this awful band does is just play guitair solos, cause thats all they can do." What an idiot! They suck cause "all" they do is play solos? Solos are one of the hardest things to do on guitar so even if that is all the do, they'd still be gods. Look at Joe Satriani for instance. He was a solo dispenser that couldnt stop. Did he suck? Hell no. Thinks he knows what hes talking about but I wanna punch his ignorant face. Plus his name was PUNK Rocker. No wonder. Hes into power chords repeated and whining little boys. Some people. :upset:

I'm no punk fan but i have to say it isn't all power cords and whinning. You are a little hypocritical to say that this guy is ignorant about your style when you just said about his that was ignorant yourself.

I believe that Metallica are the best band in the world BECAUSE they keep changing. Even if Load/Reload/St Anger suck (which i personally think they don't, not compared to 90% of the other bands out there...) then at least they haven't benn pumping out the exact same style of music for 20 years e.g Slayer. I like Slayer, but quite frankly, it's all the same.

dunno bout that. Its great dont get me wrong but I think And Justice for All and Puppets have better songs.

Battery, MOP, Sanitarium, Orion, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!!, Blackened, One, To Live is to Die, Dyers Eve, Damage, Inc, Disposible Heros

Lightning has great guitar but the singing on it is kinda weird. Its growing on me though. IMO the best 3 on RTL are Fade to Black, Call of Ktulu and Fight Fire With Fire

woo hoo i finally pulled off the Creeping Death solo after about an hour n a half i got it down to where i can play along with the cd :) really fun stuff, Kirk's leads are always very flavorfull and enjoyable to play.

I agree but i still wish a solo could be found on St Anger, not to mention the drums are very strange. I hope their next album blows all of us away. All they need is to stop the Drop C thing, have solos, and fix the drums and youve got good music in the 00's :amaze: which these days is almost unheard.

IMO it's 'I Dissapear' very cool clip indeed.

I just realised that Metallicas videos are pretty dull - nothing much to them.

Suppose my favorite would be, *thinks*, Nothing Else Matters - i just liked seeing them as people rather than their musician persona.

After that, i think I Disappear was the second best.
