Trippy was the wrong term I guess. There's just some strange element about it. I haven't heard it in forever though so I may be mixing it up with something else. But it is quite strange.

It's psychedelic, but I've heard plenty of trippy psychedelia that blow it away. I know what you mean though, it is a very good song.

It's more that they just kind of listen but don't care.

I don't normally try to introduce my friends to my music. If I'm driving then I'll play what I want, and same goes for them. Every now and then I recommend a song or album that I think a certain person might like based on what they already listen to.

Just to bring up something interesting, I'm sure most've you have heard of the Paul is Dead scandal.

I'm shove my music down my friends throats. They all hate Jane's Addiction, Rolling Stones, Mike Patton in general, Joy Division, Fugazi and various other bands. But once in a great while I'll get someone turned onto a band, mostly freshmen and the Beatles - [I]Sgt Pep's[/I]. In fact one of the kids I turned onto music basically (I'm not even kidding when I first started talking to this kid he said he only listened to music when he was going places in the car) any way he asked me if I would teach him guitar; I don't play guitar though...

I'm with Lunch, I don't usually start music conversations with my friends. Because when I do, I always end up showing off my knowledge and collection and end up acting like a jerk. So I have a few friends that have similar tastes to me who I talk music with all the time, but other people who I know not to bother discussing music with.

Um, the Beatles, CoB, the Dead, the Byrds, Tomahawk, the Stones, Of Montreal, Iron Maiden are the big ones. But he is a huge Beatles fan now after I loaned him all my albums from those artists he sorta branched out on his own, he loves Bob Dylan and Nick Drake now days.

There was a period where you constantly brought them up in this thread whenever you could. Not that I really care, but I think you could keep a thread on them alive anyway so you don't have to overlap their discussion into threads like this one.

I have just stopped bothering with trying push music onto people. I'll tell people they should check band x out, and just leave it at that.

Yeah that's like me too. Luckily the friend of mine that I mainly talk music with has a pretty open mind, and will listen to almost anything I recommend to him just so he can say he at least gave it a chance. I do the same in return with his music. Our tastes are relatively similar though.
