CaptainWaits 12-29-2004 10:54 PM
Just wondering what instruments do you guys play? I'm a drummer.
I'm a drummer too :D

RavenousMetalist87 12-30-2004 12:13 AM
And I think you, Ravenous, posted about Shadows Fall a few pages ago. Crushing Belial is pretty decent, but the rest of the songs I have heard are crap metalcore crap. So you will want to be continuing avoiding them :p
That wasn't me. It was FaceInTheSky.

It's ok though. I've given up all hope in Shadows Fall after their new album. The Art of Balance was cool, but when I heard the War Within, I just...cried XD

I cried how such a band with the potential to bring back a thrash sound went generic and how millions of my friends into metal have gone and worshiped them after it...

I started a thrash thread on my other forum, and so far, some other guy there who is into the new **** has respect for the old, but wants us all to listen to the newer stuff...I saidly say no...for I know what it's like.

Anyways, I was listening to The Legacy today, and I love the sound of it...I still prefer TNO at times, but The Legacy is a classic.

FatalEnergy 12-30-2004 12:23 AM

**** right the Legacy is a classic......its sad to heard that the rest of Shadows Fall catalouge sucks.........oh well, **** metalcore in the *******......I got some Believer. supposedly they were Christian 80's thrash metal....but there just as brutal sounding as everything else. I also got some Rigor Mortis, and its pretty good, not great, but far from sucking

RCA 12-30-2004 12:27 AM

Have you Testament fans heard their demo before they actually became Testament? If not, you can get it from me off of Soulseek. You'll love it.

I love the Legacy as well, but you have to admit that the band members sound like they are trying to keep up with each other. Other than that, it's great \m/

NP: Psycroptic - The Colour of Sleep

RavenousMetalist87 12-30-2004 02:00 AM

I was very bored when I came up with it XD

and JAtomic, when i go to browse your files, it just says no files shared :(

JMetallica 12-30-2004 04:41 AM

Argh, i hate Psycroptic. I saw em live a few months back and they blew arse. Crappy music and crappy live. So a big /m\ for that band.

My soul seek is ManicThrasher.

Does anyone know where GPB went? She seemed to vanish totally from msn and forums?

ThrashMaster27 12-30-2004 05:04 AM

I've only heard Battling The Misery Of Organon and I thought it was pretty crappy. Yeah! I've wondered where she disappeared to aswell....wasn't she our only active Female member of this thread? god knows I've not seen any other chicks round here.

JMetallica 12-30-2004 05:39 AM

She was indeed. And God no, neither have I. Although, if the theory of the internet is correct, myself, you every other guy and girl is an overweight, middle aged, man called Frank. So does it matter? Does it really matter?

NP: Accept - Losing More Than You Ever Had in memory of GPB. Haha.... Or not?

metal-militia 12-30-2004 05:48 AM

^^^^^^

This quote sums it up

Welcome to the internet where the men are men, the women are men, and the little girls are FBI agents

I've noticed a few members don't post here much anymore too.

My Soulseek is Persecution Mania

LordDargon 12-30-2004 07:18 AM

I'm too lazy to quote everything so I'll just reply in chronological order:

I've been meaning to check out Watchtower for a while.

My slsk is Lord Dargon.

PSYCROPTIC ARE FRIGGIN' AWESOME

Yes, lots of the old members have left us. I think some of the new ones are more knowledgable though, so :D

And I think the correct quote is:
"On the internet, 9 out of every 10 people are men. The 10th is a man pretending to be a 14-year-old girl."

DisposableHeroes 12-30-2004 08:28 AM

does anyone know what the hell Dark Angel are up to now? I know they recorded the Creeping Death cover but thats all i've heard from them recently

LordDargon 12-30-2004 09:26 AM

You can only see stuff in the News section of their site (www.darkangelmusic.com) if you sign up to their boards, which is probably a good idea.

RavenousMetalist87 12-30-2004 12:40 PM

Ok, so JMet's on but I can't seem to browse his files x_x

Do I have to do something to get in there?

RCA 12-30-2004 01:08 PM
does anyone know what the hell Dark Angel are up to now? I know they recorded the Creeping Death cover but thats all i've heard from them recently
They're working on a Live DVD and a new album titled "Darkness Returns." The album is going to take long to make due to Ron Rinehart's injurys, GET WELL SOON RON!

My Soulseek name = -I-Freezing Moon-I-

NP: Immolation - Furthest From The Truth

RCA 12-30-2004 04:45 PM

There's a channel on Soulseek called "mxrockandmetal". Everyone add that to your autojoin list.

JMetallica 12-30-2004 11:37 PM

Yeah, know how to turn a Netgear Dg834 firewall off.... It seems to let random people download, and others not. Stupid piece of **** thing.

Oh, and for all those special people who are choosen to browse my files, download my list, as i dont share everything at once.

RavenousMetalist87 12-31-2004 12:51 AM

SoulSeek hates me XD

It froze when I hit refresh...

JMetallica 12-31-2004 12:56 AM

What's everyone doing for New years? Im heading to see a few local bands including one that plays accoustic covers of skid row, motley crue, wasp etc etc. It'll prove to be an interesting night...

CaptainWaits 12-31-2004 01:04 AM

Well your New Year sounds a lot better than what I have planned, a small get together with family and friends, man i'm gonna be bored to tears, hopefully I can escape to the PS2 with a few beers to pass the time.

Oh, I also picked up Practice What You Preach today, I'm not sure I like it as much as The New Order but still, it has some kick ass songs on there, I was a bit worried though when 'The Ballad' came on but I like how it develops, some thrashy parts with some melodies.

My friends and I are hopefull getting a 30 case of beer, some hard liquor, and watch the Slayer dvd at my frontman's house.

Is it only me that thinks that The New Order isn't that great? There's too many pointless bits, like the beggining of Disciples of the Watch, which ruins a great song.

Happy New Year!  :thumb:

Half of "The New Order" can be pretty much thrown away, But "Into The Pit" and "The Preacher" make that album IMO. I still think The Legacy is their best work.

Aside from Testament, I picked up Quo Vadis' "Passage In Time" album, and I must say that it kicks ass. Not entirely thrashy, but there are some wicked awesome thrash breaks in that album.

EDIT: Fvck, I just realized that the album was a "best-of" compilation.

CaptainWaits 12-31-2004 02:16 PM

I picked up Overkill's "Bloodletting" yesterday........and yes, it's another solid, heavy as h*ll Overkill album

Bloodletting \m/. I loved that album as well :chug:

Any news on when that "Get Thrashed" DVD is coming out?
