I've got 1 of a minimum 3 pages done for my project.
I've had about 5 weeks to do this, yet I saved it for the night before it was due, and I need to make research notes too!

Stupid me! A minimum of 8 sources is needed, which I have, but I need to make notes even though I am just making the good copy first.

Crap! And I just remembered I need to make a research log too! ARG!!! I think it would be better if I didn't go to school tomorrow and just get my mom to call in sick for me, it's way too much bullshit work to do in a single night. Fuck.

^ That sucks. :upset:

I left a chem research paper until the last night once; 10 pages minimum, at least 3 refs per page, 1.5 spaced, and a bunch of other stuff that I forget.

I wrote a total of 17 pages. Got an A+. :)

You....take....that....back!

George Washington had wooden teeth. Who cares?
Bill's sentence is an infinitive phrase. Who cares?
FDR initiated his Emergency Bank Act in 1933 and the gold standard raised from $21 in 1933 to $35 oin 1934. The inflation helped bring in-debt farmers out of economic strife and gave them the ability to pay their mortgages. Who cares?
Oh look, this character has developed throughout the book! Who cares?

I know I don't.

Science and math move society. You can sit around weaving baskets and discussing essential human truths all day long but it won't mean a **** if society doesn't have logic to function on (math and science dictate human life. That's my theory anyway).

psh are you saying logic would work without history? you might have your science and math, but history is the test to see if it worked or not. thats how we know communism doesnt work with humans. are you saying we could communicate without english? (i know we could but this is an english dominated forum).

^ You should learn to speak your native language, yes, but I think telling students what part of speech is what is BS myself. Honestly, who cares? If I wanted to, I could type with absolute perfect grammar on here (I have some sentence fragments and other minute grammatical errors). It's not whether or not it's perfect; if you understand the person, you're good.

Not that I HATE English, history, etc., I just don't like the subjects.

psh not that i hate math or science, in fact i liked them all the way up until high school where they were promptly ruined for me by bad teachers.

i dont type with correct grammar ,its a waste of time. but to say that the quadratic formula is better than Of Mice and Men is a mistake =P

Honestly, I think CERTAIN aspects of writing (I.e., correct sentence structure in whichever language...) are useful in tandem with other things. Though, honestly, I could care less if a word is a verb or an adjective, or an adverb (I still wonder to this day who got the genius idea to call them that...).

History, well...*shrug* A person with a large amount of logic will have an easier time predicting the outcome to something and figuring something out as opposed to one with a heavy history background.

Math we use daily, so that's obviously up there. Science, like Gav said, is the driving force for the technology that we currently rely on.

Obviously, though, history has it's place as well, and to one who wishes to control a group fo people (I use that term loosely :p), certain aspects of history are useful. (Economic, etc.) However, I can tell you now I don't care who wrote something important on a napkin in an inn.

That might be the stupidest thing I've heard all day...

Communism doesn't work for humans? And what you call democracy does? It's not even real democracy (atleast not like it used to be)...

No political system will ever be good in every way, since they will be created by men.

IMO, every system has their advantage.

Spaceman Spiff 03-23-2005 08:27 PM

I like English.
Other than music, it is what I like.

bottlerocket 03-23-2005 08:27 PM

^ Let's see:

Develop a key theory to provide the basis of making human life easier and better through mathematics to solve problems of technology

or...

...discuss a book some drunk womanizer wrote?

I'll take the former, thank you.

:p

I jest. I know all the school subjects are important, yes, I just prefer math and science. I consider certain aspects of math extremely important and others extremely useless for most people (graphing parabolas, calculus, mind you, by "most people" I mean those who will not go into scientific of mathematic felds). The same goes for English.

Darn, my short and not-well-explained post will be ignored, it being in the end of the other page :upset:.

And all subjects are important. It doesn't matter how much science stuff you know, if you don't have the ability to, umm, express it?

Meh, I suck at examples.
