http://www.myspace.com/thejohnstones - they live and pratice next door to me, it was hard to NOT like ska as a kid.
since 6th grade. so 12 years old? and i liked punk before that. |
it's so great when your full music collection is on shuffle and an amazing song comes up!!
bloody southerners :(
up the north !
I went North of London for the first time ever the other day! I thought peolpe were just lying....but true enough it exists! I only went like 30mins out of London though. But in a couple weeks I am going TRUE north! To Blackpool, then maybe Manchester, then Bradford/Leeds. Hells yeah! |
Wellll I beg to differ. I think a good band of any genre is just lovely to watch though. To me, I guess a good punk band is just as powerful as a good ska band, but cus most of my favourite bands are ska it just adds an extra something.
sketchyjoe man you missed a right party at mine last Tuesday! Hope the new job was worth it :) and are you coming to Lightyear on Saturday? EDIT: oh and I prefer UK ska/other genre shows tons more than seeing American bands, just like seeing people I know onstage and the kind of crowd it draws too (lots of my friends usually come out)....plus most of my favourite bands are UK bands too
Still skint as fuck. And living in Oxford. Pits > Skanking |
I do love me a great pit.
But i also enjoy singing with the band.. and skanking is fun. |
I love Disreantiyouthhellchristbastardassmanx so much. Powerviolence RIP is great.

Pits > Skanking
Ah I don't dig pits. Haha, dig pits. I totally didn't mean to do that. I way prefer just a mellow skanking/other dancing pit, it's always nice. Unless I'm pissed and at an Adequate Seven or something similar gig, in which case a pit is well received by me. Why in Oxford? Mentalist. Come back to London. I'm sick of the south coast and I'm relocating to London in...t minus 1.5 weeks. FEEL THE GOODNESS. |
I like pits and skanking pretty equally.
I love when I get in a big circle of people skanking, some I know some I don't. I find it silly that whenever I'm in a moshpit, people ask if I'm okay. Then they realize I know what I'm doing and am not some little girl getting hurt, and they think I'm awesome. |
I don't pit much. I'm kinda a pussy.
|

I got very pissed last time I saw Ad7 and totally owned the Pit and sang along into the mic for half the songs. |
ad7 make me hard

I pit sometimes, but I'm more of a skanking type of guy. Even though I look like a total idiot when I'm doing it.
|
Test.
|
I actually don't care for going in the pit. I went in once during a show and when I got out the band was done playing and I didn't even really hear/see them. I go to shows to see bands preform, not beat myself up.
|
You're just not punx enough.

Everyone looks like an idiot. I guess you have to take the good with the bad, pleasure and pain, etc.. It's the price ska has to pay for having the best form of dance ever created. |
I thought something was wrong with my computer but then I realised a book resting on the edge of my keyboard and pressing the Enter button down.
|
you cant see me joe.. but im shaking my head in shame..
|
It confused the hell out of me for about a minute. I thought my mouse was messed up and I was checking the connection and everything.

You're scared you'll get mugged? |
Guys, who sang that one song that went "you gotta die die die die for your goverment!" or something like that...
And what year was it released? |
You're scared you'll get mugged?
I'm not usually. There are a lot of people in my town that maybe I should be afraid of, but I feel right at home with. But it really pisses me off that this kid who lives in the rich suburb and has all the opportunity in the world would come to my town, where there is less money, and start mugging people. Although last time there was a major amount of muggings and such around here that didn't really stop me from going outside or anything. |
Ugh. I used to like that anti-flag album. Then it just got really annoying everytime I listened to it.

I had a fooking class day today like
