Well, good thing I'm not a pit dweller as much as I used to be.

coheneran 07-25-2006 01:07 PM

You guys, I love being me!

But I still was. :(

/starts contributing here from now on.

I can't believe I never really posted in the Punk forum considering the bands I listen to.

Hungry Bald Fists 07-25-2006 01:08 PM

I enjoyed the pit but im not gonna miss it, this is my favourite forum now anyway.

I've barely seen you post anywhere but the pit.

I find it odd how I've probably made under 20 posts in the bass forum in 3 years.

Hungry Bald Fists 07-25-2006 01:11 PM

i started off on mx in here, then went to the pit, then pop-punk and now i guess it's here mainly.

Mostly ska. Streetlight Manifesto, RBF, Bosstones, Planet Smashers, Catch 22, Ska-p...on and on. I was a huge Blink 182 fan when I was younger and still am. I dunno. I listen to a lot of stuff, a good portion of it fits into Punk. If you ever listened to my radio show you'd get a decent taste of what I like.

Thats where I started out, but I haven't posted there since 03-04. Just isn't interesting anymore.

That's kind of how I started too.

I posted sporadically here and in the Pit, mostly the Media Center. Then I posted in Pop-Punk, joined the chat room, and now I know tons of people.

Jessizzle 07-25-2006 01:14 PM

Hey mark?
if you like ska, i love you.

Hungry Bald Fists 07-25-2006 01:14 PM

Oic.
i used to listen to vince on the radio every so often hhaa.

I can talk about bands and music until the cows come home, but for some reason talking about bass... not really. I enjoy playing it, but there's just not much for me to talk about. Espcially since I'm not that good. But there are some amazing bassists in that forum.

sketchyjoe 07-25-2006 01:16 PM

I used to post sporadically in The Pit but haven't been there for at least six months. Closing it is a good decision.

In other news, I'm addicted to Everybody's Golf on the PSP.

Hungry Bald Fists 07-25-2006 01:17 PM

yeh im like that with guitar. ive never posted in guitar, well once i posted in the Community thread then they all ripped it out of me for the music i listen to so i was like "blah fcuk you twats"

Jessizzle 07-25-2006 01:18 PM

Yeah, I joined cause, I got tabs all the time, and saw punk topics on bands i liked, so i joined.
/defending anti flag..

I've been into it for like 3 years now, so I wont pretend to be some lifelong die hard fan.

But I love the stuff. In the last three weeks I've seen RX bandits, Streetlight Manifesto and Reel Big Fish and I'm hoping to catch a Big D and the Kids Table show and then a Toasters show after that.

Yeah, I saw the slm/rbf show. And i will see the Catch22/BigD/ Voodoo glow skulls
Planet smashers soon too. but then i would have to see rancid.
I like local shows better anyways.

ps: i was born a ska whore.

asdf 07-25-2006 01:24 PM

without local ska, I may have never gotten into ska and punk at all.

I'm thankful that a family friend joined a ska band, and we went and saw them out of curiousity. After that I was hooked, and I went and saw his band every chance I got. Even when the band reformed without him, I went and saw them. I got into a bunch of local ska and punk, and eventually into much more.

And soon I might join a ska band, which I've wanted to do for so long now.

Send me some good stuff when I get my new computer. :)

Jessizzle 07-25-2006 01:28 PM

aye Aye!

sketchyjoe 07-25-2006 01:28 PM

Ska is always good live but a good punk band live is usually better than a good ska band.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-25-2006 01:29 PM
aye Aye!
:p Thx babe.

Black Ink 07-25-2006 01:30 PM

I don't remeber what exactly got me into ska. I just remeber downloading a bunch of ska songs in high school and really enjoying them. Then I just got more and more and started going to shows.

the-UK-ska-scene 07-25-2006 01:30 PM

Wellll I beg to differ. I think a good band of any genre is just lovely to watch though. To me, I guess a good punk band is just as powerful as a good ska band, but cus most of my favourite bands are ska it just adds an extra something.

sketchyjoe man you missed a right party at mine last Tuesday! Hope the new job was worth it :) and are you coming to Lightyear on Saturday?

EDIT: oh and I prefer UK ska/other genre shows tons more than seeing American bands, just like seeing people I know onstage and the kind of crowd it draws too (lots of my friends usually come out)....plus most of my favourite bands are UK bands too
