Hello chilluns.

I've got three vinyls [vinii?]: Jethro Tull's Aqualung and Songs From The Wood, and George Benson's Breezin'.

gaslight 05-14-2009 11:19 PM

My favourite that I have bought myself is the Trio Of Doom vinyl.

nevertoolate 05-14-2009 11:40 PM

My fave vinyl I own are my Nirvana ones, Nevermind, Bleach and In Utero........cherished much.

Meatplow 05-14-2009 11:55 PM

i would love to collect some vinyl, it's rather hip

also, stuff by bands who only release on cassette.

Aaron 05-14-2009 11:58 PM

I don't like Nirvana.

I want to release onto 2" tape.

Meatplow 05-15-2009 12:01 AM

nirvana had a few banging songs, a tad overrated but any band that has a cult following is

getting my post-punk on

They were a big part in my late high school years, got me thru VCE, and into guitar and drum based music too.

Aaron 05-15-2009 12:26 AM

I find them boring, tbh

gaslight 05-15-2009 12:35 AM

Releasing on cassette would be a ridiculous choice for a musician, the only thing it does is say "look at me, I'm on cassette, that thing nobody bothers with anymore, isn't this so old school and retro-faux-hip?". It'd be cute but stupid.

I don't think they even make things that play cassettes anymore, you may as well sing your songs into a jar and put the lid on quick.

Aaron 05-15-2009 12:39 AM

Music-box is the emerging medium. Those rolling-steel things have a much better sound than v0

I have buttloads of tapes sittin at home, i do miss the arduous task of the 'mix tape' making.
you may as well sing your songs into a jar and put the lid on quick.
LOL I used to do that with farts and make my sister smell em. Fun times.

Meatplow 05-15-2009 12:59 AM

mmm a lot of the noise artists I listen to release exclusively on cassette, there are only a few places on the web I can find rips of these. you can get pro cassette decks that would have cost thousands of dollars years ago on ebay for $90 or so

mix tapes were so much fun back in the day

nevertoolate 05-15-2009 01:02 AM

yeah those pro decks were ace, idk how many times i made tapes with me talking or singing backwards and then playing it in reverse

Meatplow 05-15-2009 01:26 AM

yeah I always had a cheap Kmart job :(
LOL I used to do that with farts and make my sister smell em. Fun times.
hilarious

gaslight 05-15-2009 01:28 AM

Well if you're a noise artist releasing on cassette isn't that silly because sales won't really be a concern.

Meatplow 05-15-2009 02:51 AM

i ordered a noise tape from sweden still waiting for its arrival

otherwise i have seen aficianados of the genre on other boards taking snapshots of their 1000+ noise cassette collection and comparing each others noise music ePenis with one another

Wow, seems like anything you play at any time is made to fit together. I started with that touch synth at the top, then the clarinet... then every other piece once and it sounded really good.

Meatplow 05-15-2009 06:21 AM

yeah, it's really clever. like a custom post-rock machine

horseypie 05-15-2009 06:31 AM

thats awesome
i love it

That's just terrible. Was forcing myself to stick with it from the start but after about a minute I just had no charity left in me.

This is the weirdest website I've come across:

gaslight 05-15-2009 08:18 AM

I concur.

What's everyone up to? I'm watching X Files and jamming out some Jamerson lines. What a god.

Aaron 05-15-2009 08:26 AM

Meatplow 05-15-2009 08:26 AM

I'm having some desires towards an Electro Harmonix Voicebox.

It is very cool looking.

Meatplow 05-15-2009 09:33 AM

sounds awesome.

mission of burma is pretty tight

gaslight 05-15-2009 09:54 AM

Yeah they were good value.

If I have anything left over from my next payday I'll try to get the Nick Hempton band album and one of Avishai Cohen's.

Meatplow 05-15-2009 10:09 AM

sounds jewish. moar talking heads, working wonders in the small hours of the morning

gaslight 05-15-2009 10:31 AM

Yeah he's an Israeli-born jazz bassist.

gaslight 05-15-2009 11:16 AM

Let's go Waratahs :smoke:. Brumbies carked it so if the 'Tahs win with a four try bonus point then they're in with a chance for the play-offs.
