MEGADETH: 'Arsenal Of Megadeth' DVD Collection Details Revealed - Jan. 28, 2006

MEGADETH has teamed with Capitol Records/EMI Music Catalog Marketing to unleash "Arsenal of Megadeth", a new comprehensive two-disc DVD collection available March 21. A visual career anthology containing 32 previously unreleased clips, "Arsenal of Megadeth" chronicles the rise and evolution of the band, providing fans with a heavy metal armory of music videos, interviews, home video shot by MEGADETH's own Dave Mustaine and hidden tracks. Clocking in at almost three hours, "Arsenal of Megadeth"'s tracklist was personally compiled by Mustaine, ensuring the ultimate head-hammering MEGADETH experience.

Following the 2005 release of MEGADETH's "Greatest Hits: Back to the Start" CD and deluxe CD/DVD collections of singles and fan favorites, "Arsenal of Megadeth" provides fans with the most in-depth look ever provided into the band's storied history. In addition to 20 of the band's music videos, "Arsenal" contains a bevy of career-spanning previously unreleased material, including behind the scenes audition footage, a 1995 band appearance on MTV's "Most Wanted", a clip of Dave Mustaine's guest appearance on "The Drew Carey Show", and concert footage from 2005's Gigantour — essential cuts for every Megafan.

In 2005, MEGADETH was the headbanging, headlining act of Dave Mustaine's Gigantour, a tour founded on the principles of "fan-friendly" pricing and accessibility to the music. Mustaine's vision for Gigantour was to "put together a festival that consisted of positive bands that play heavy music in a high energy environment." 2005's inaugural Gigantour did just that and was an immense international success. "Arsenal of Megadeth" contains previously unreleased concert footage from the tour, including a live performance of MEGADETH's metal anthem, "Peace Sells".

MEGADETH was formed in 1983, and in the words of "The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years" director Penelope Spheeris, "[have] always been intelligent and uncompromising; they gave an entire generation a new perspective on our troubled world."

MEGADETH members Dave Mustaine, Glen Drover (lead and rhythm guitar), James MacDonough (bass) and Shawn Drover (drums) keep themselves engaged with their fanbase by regularly posting to the official MEGADETH web site (www.megadeth.com). The site connects fans to the MEGADETH eBay auction site and fan forums, and provides up-to-date official information on all things MEGADETH.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-30-2006 03:32 AM

I wish there was more live footage though. I don't like Rude Awakening.

.:Thrashman:. 01-30-2006 07:44 AM

my friend keeps on saying that Alexi Lahio from COB is better than Dave. but i think Dave is better. whos is better at guitar?

Apocalyptic Raids 01-30-2006 07:57 AM

Well I prefer Dave's songwriting, so I choose him.

Alexi sure can solo though.

.:Thrashman:. 01-30-2006 08:08 AM
Well I prefer Dave's songwriting, so I choose him.

Alexi sure can solo though.
IMO Dave sure owns Alexi in songwriting.

123 but IMO i think that Alexi is at his best when he solo's and Dave isnt.

superdigg 01-30-2006 11:31 AM

In all that I've heard of both bands (a lot of 'deth, very little bodom), I'd definitely agree that laiho's soloing is much better, but dave's songwriting blows alexi's away.

Ventriloquist 01-30-2006 12:59 PM
You like Risk? You're the first person I know of that likes that album.
btw insomnia is a great song I think and I know a lot of people who like it :P

clairvoyant 01-30-2006 01:35 PM

Wow. Marty Friedman audition.

I must get that DVD.

Jev 01-30-2006 02:21 PM

Everyone must get it. Unless they're stupid.

Bazarov 01-30-2006 03:13 PM
btw insomnia is a great song I think and I know a lot of people who like it :P
There is nothing wrong. I personally don't like any song on the CD.

NeverOpethDeth 01-31-2006 09:37 PM

Alexi is a kickass guitarist and songwriter i think I just wish hed change his vocal style for some of the songs its cool but kinda not my thing always and write lyrics better he can write good ones but often it seems like the lyrics arent like..as thought of. but megadeth specially dave own the other big three thrashers

Father 02-01-2006 04:48 AM

hey guys ... I was hoping you guys could help...i need a link about that megadeth/ireland incident which had something to do with the IRA..I tried searching the thread but i found no results...Thanx.

Neoteric 02-01-2006 09:04 AM

I don't own Risk but I've heard all the songs on it and I quite like it.

Dude I wish I knew what you are talking about. It sounds cool

Jev 02-01-2006 12:06 PM

Sounds like a riot. Or maybe it has something to do with something Dave said and the crowd thought he supported the IRA.

Britton 02-01-2006 12:08 PM
Sounds like a riot. Or maybe it has something to do with something Dave said and the crowd thought he supported the IRA.
Yea maybe....either way

I googled it but I can't find anything

Cardboard Headgear 02-01-2006 12:51 PM

I remember it being something to the effect of him saying some rather offense stuff about Irish people and/or the IRA under the pretense that he's Irish and can get away with it. Crowd saw things differently however. If you've been to a Megadeth show and Dave hasn't said something offense, you haven't been to a Megadeth show!

Jev 02-01-2006 01:04 PM

He didn't even speak at Download.
I heard about that when I was watching VH1's 100 Most Metal Moments. Too bad most of it was hair metal related...
Yes.. that's one of the reasons I didn't really like metal mania that much. There was way too much hair metal.

Jev 02-02-2006 01:49 AM
LoL

Did you see him at Download?
Yep. They played on Indie day and disgracefully had Garbage, Feeder and some other crappy band higher on the bill than them. They only had 50 minutes so Dave came out 5 minutes early and left 5 minutes late. He explained at the end that he didn't want to speak so he could play more songs.

Ventriloquist 02-02-2006 01:58 AM

Are they going to make a tour this year ? Like GiganTour ? I missed the Rockistanbul fest. so couldn't see them last year :(:(

Jev 02-02-2006 01:59 AM

Yes, there should be another Gigantour this year.

Ventriloquist 02-02-2006 02:01 AM

wohoo great

Jev 02-02-2006 04:00 AM

I hope it comes to England, as I have said many times.

Yep, me too, Dream Theater too would be amazing.

Jev 02-02-2006 04:39 AM

I can imagine nothing better than Dream Theater followed by megadeth.
