The Four Seasons' The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette is weird. So far I like some things about it.

Yes, that he was.

Mr Observations 09-16-2005 11:17 AM

dEUS - Pocket Revolution
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
Ozric Tentacles - Strangitude
fIREHOSE - Fromohio
Flotation Toy Warning - Bluffer's Guide to the Flight Deck
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

That's pretty much what i've been listening to this week. I'm on a severe Talking Heads kick right now.

asymm 09-16-2005 12:32 PM

American Music Club - Mercury
Sonic Youth - Evol

I've been listening to:-

Jaga Jazzist - The Stix
Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts OF The Great Highway
Read House Painters - Ocean Beach

Beach Express 09-16-2005 02:12 PM

I've been listening to some 60's pop lately. Mainly The Beach Boys.

OrbDragon 09-16-2005 02:35 PM

I'm digging "They Might Be Giants" very much...which album is their best?

Happymeal 09-16-2005 02:56 PM

Oliver Nelson
Electric Wizard
Monster Magnet
High on Fire
Iron & Wine and Calexico

"Burn That Broken Bed" is one of the top songs of the year methinks.

Zappa 09-16-2005 03:39 PM
I'm digging "They Might Be Giants" very much...which album is their best?
I can recommend the album Apollo 18, though it is the only album of theirs I have heard.

The NPC 09-16-2005 05:55 PM
If you really need one, probably Lincoln, but proceed with caution.

XTC - Skylarking
The Loft = Once Round the Fair
Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come
That album reminds me of La Jolla.

YDload 09-16-2005 06:00 PM

And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead- Source Tags and Codes (5/5)

A perfect album if I've ever heard one. "After the Laughter" is one of the few interludes I enjoy listening to, because of the way it links the last two songs together.

YDload 09-16-2005 06:14 PM
That album rules so hard. I can't even put it into words.
Here's an interesting quote from RYM:

This is one of those albums that when it's great it's really great, and when it's bad.. it's really bad.

Someone's in trouble
The good far outweighs the bad.
Kind of like Disintegration.

Everyone knows I feel like that?

Does everyone know that I totally hate that album?
Does everyone know that I totally hate that album?
You totally hate every album.

Zappa 09-16-2005 06:51 PM

True.

Dexter Gordon - Go!

I'm still getting into jazz and so far I've listened to the famous stuff (Miles Davis, John Coltrane), the wierd stuff (Eirc Dolphy), and the bigger band stuff (Mingus, Dizzie Gillespie) but this is my favorite. This is really what I was looking for when I started listening to jazz. I like it a lot.

Zappa 09-16-2005 09:02 PM

Go! is a great album. "Cheese Cake" is so charming.

Gnarmageddon 09-16-2005 09:56 PM

I've been listening to basically nothing but Coheed And Cambria for the last week or so. They're such a good band.
Does everyone know that I totally hate that album?
Well, I suppose it was meant to be. A Nacho/Zappa disagreement? Well I never!

Brewer14 09-16-2005 10:17 PM

I bought Sublimes self-titled album, and I've been listening to it a lot ever since.

Jimmy Eat World - Clarity

This album is pretty much perfect. I don't get why JEW get slapped with the "emo" tag and Death Cab For Cutie don't.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 09-17-2005 12:52 AM

Ambulance LTD - Self Titled. Oh, and Blackalicious.

Zmev 09-17-2005 01:35 AM

The Replacements - Tim
The Replacements - Let it Be

Bukowski 09-17-2005 05:19 AM

Flux of Pink Indians - Strive to Survive Causing Least Suffering Possible
Eluvium - Talk Amongst the Trees
The Editors - The Back Room

Talk Amongst the Trees is one of the best electronic albums i've heard - it's sublime.

Tomahawk 09-17-2005 07:30 AM

I've been listening to some Dinosaur Jr. I never really gave You're Living All Over Me a chance, it's pretty good stuff.

Also some Billy Bragg, Fleetwood Mac, and Down.

I often hear people call Death Cab emo.

It's complete bullshit in both cases, but still.
