alright, I got it! Thank you both!

I can't wait to see the good original Anthrax, I lost total intrest in them when I started looking for more of thier albums, and Joey wasn't on any of them and they stopped playing thrash. I heard a rumor they might play Ozzfest, along with Iron Maiden,I'll probably go to that, but that means I have to sit around with all the dumbfucks who are waiting for Shadows Fall, and Dimmu Borgir and all that crap to come on. I did that last year when I was seeing Slayer and Priest, all the Slipknot fans were around, I thought I was going to puke by thier shitty taste in music. Slayer owned everyone though :thumb: , but they could of had a more aggressive setlist than they did.

NP: Destruction - Curse the Gods (I could listen to this for days)

Stevie 03-26-2005 10:11 AM

Man, have you ever been to a slipknot concert? I was at one with slayer playing. It had a load of kids going around in KwikFit outfits, and paper homemade Corey masks. (Sorry, getting off topic)

This thread won't be the same without Dargon :upset:

Well, all I have to say is that I wish him good luck on where he may be, but until then, I'll get that DVD since it's 14 bucks. Need to find a way to get out as I am still a bit bleh from that horrible test experience at the DMV yesterday x.x

I would've kicked that tub of lard's *** if I wanted to, but I decided to just let it go, and listen to some thrash...

Speaking of thrash, I have my Destruction DVD right here. I could watch that..yesh happy :)

FatalEnergy 03-26-2005 10:22 AM

How is the Destruction DVD, I don't have it yet. Dosen't it come with a live CD too?

NP: Destruction - United By Hatred

DimebagDarrell 03-26-2005 10:26 AM

isnt their meant to be the re-release of testaments seen between the lines video comingout on dvd? if it is true which i hope so any got a release date for it?

RCA 03-26-2005 10:27 AM

The Destruction DVD is great!

I especially like when they fuck up Bestial Invasion at the end of it. Schmier gets pissed.

There was supposed to be, and now that they're touring in Europe with the original lineup, you can bet that they'll use the DVD as a sort of promotion for the tour.

Although I don't care for Testament, I'd like to see that because the original version's sound and picture quality sucked. Hard.

RavenousMetalist87 03-26-2005 10:34 AM

NP: Destruction - United By Hatred
The DVD itself is awesome. Tons of goodies, great sound, great visuals, just ****ing awesoem :D

The Live CD (Alive Devastation) with the DVD is a bundle in Europe. I read some of the reviews from Century Media, people complained that here in the states that they got jipped because Century Media only sent them the DVD, and no CD.

If you can get an overseas version of the DVD and the CD in a bundle and not get jipped, then + will be raining from the sky.

It's really good though for the DVD itself. One of the best I have owned. Like RCA said, the Bestial Invasion **** up is hilarious XD.

RetiredAt21 03-26-2005 11:37 AM

I think my friend has the DVD, I wanna borrow it. And never give it back.

FatalEnergy 03-26-2005 11:52 AM

I just ordered the DVD......AND!!!! I just ordered a fucking old school Bullet belt, and I will own some ass with it

There's a riff in there somewhere that totally fucking owns, its near the end I think.

I got the new Overkill album today, havent listened to it yet though but I'm quite excited :D

Post what you think of it after you listen. All of you already know my opinion of it.

I am about to go insane, I'm about the only REAL metal head in this whole city, eveyone else likes that pussy Alternative, rap, emo, hardcore crap. It's really starting to annoy me.

oh well, it's nice to know that I have more balls than everyone else

NP: Assassin - AGD

DisposableHeroes 03-26-2005 02:43 PM

Nuclear Assault - Handle With Care came today, i already think its leaps and bounds better than Game Over. Gotta love Lilker's bass sound

RCA 03-26-2005 03:32 PM

Yeah, Handle With Care was a good album.

NP: Metallica - Dyers Eve (I don't care what you all say, this song OWNS.)

I wonder how I'd feel if I were the only real thrash and old school death metal lover in area. I will at very rare times see people wearing Metallica, Iron Maiden, or Slayer shirts, but most of the time it's nothing special. Where I used to go with my ex g/f is not a special place I used to love to chill at. Not because of here, it's just that a lot of "wankstas" dominate it, and when I show up, it's like I'm a freak of nature. However, I stare back at them and I think they turn around hoping I don't say **** XD

I seriously went into a Tower Records with just my leather vest, a Foamy The Squirrel shirt(as retarted it may sound, Foamy is awesome. Ask me if you want more)., and some jeans with boots. I think I left everyone wondering :

Oh well, I'm just trying to kill time. I've finished one of my games, TV sucks, the radio isn't playing any good classic rock x.x and I'm just here with 3 DVDs and an IPod Mini.

metallica is one of the greatest thrash bands of all time, along with megadeth

DisposableHeroes 03-26-2005 03:53 PM

Well if you were being strict i guess you could say Kill 'Em All is their only pure thrash record

yeah,and maybe master of puppets

Scuba_Steve 03-26-2005 04:34 PM

Just wondering, but is Pantera considered thrash?

I always thought they were, but I'm sure

Griffin_Page 03-26-2005 06:42 PM

No, Pantera aren't "thrash". They have some thrash-influenced songs tho.

Argghhh im obsessed with Kreator and Megadeth right now.. like always.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2005 07:00 PM

Griffin is right.

I am also obsessed with Megadeth right now. :D

And if you look past the EXTREMELY bad production, ...And Justice For All was quite good.

NP: Destruction - Curse The Gods (This songs making its rounds)

Curse The (high pitch scream) Goddddds!

ForiegnPenguin 03-26-2005 07:35 PM

I've always liked Ride the Lightning best out of the first albums although RCA is right about AJFA.

ThrashMaster27 03-26-2005 07:52 PM
And if you look past the EXTREMELY bad production, ...And Justice For All was quite good.
I didn't think the production was that bad really. Wasn't like it was Black Metal "kvlt, tr00, crappy, recorded in a cupboard" production. it is a good album though.

RCA 03-26-2005 07:55 PM
I didn't think the production was that bad really. Wasn't like it was Black Metal "kvlt, tr00, crappy, recorded in a cupboard" production. it is a good album though.
The absence of bass, at times, is unbearable. The guitar was mixed a bit low too. As I said though, if you look past this you'll find a solid thrash album.

ThrashMaster27 03-26-2005 07:58 PM

Not to sound like I hate Bassists or anything, cause I dont, but I only notice the Bass when it's really prominent. Like in bands such as Iron Maiden, Overkill, The first Flotsam & Jetsam album etc....other than that, lack of Bass doesn't bother me.

RCA 03-26-2005 08:00 PM

Ah, maybe I have an ear for bass then.

ThrashMaster27 03-26-2005 08:04 PM

Perhaps! I always think about Bands like Slayer without a Bassist and wonder if it would actually make a difference. Also! I've been listening to Carcass recently...they so easily could have been a Thrash band.

FatalEnergy 03-26-2005 08:23 PM

I'm a bassist myself, so I look for the bass constantly, and I can usually hear one when no one else does, but still even on AJFA, I can't hear it

Actually if you listen to Hell Awaits, the bass is very easily heard. I can even hear it on Reign In Blood. There are lots of thrash albums where the bass is easily heard, you might just not have an ear for it, usually the bass is there and makes the sound a lot more full on thrash albums, but it's hard to distinguish. Put it this way....if the bass wasn't there, you would notice a difference

NP: Judas Priest - Jawbreaker

ThrashMaster27 03-26-2005 08:34 PM

Yeah, true enough. That's why I always wondered. When I was younger I never noticed the bass loss on ...And Justice For All. Like you say, being a Bassist would give me a sharper ear for it. Sadly I'm a Guitarist and a very very crap Drummer.

RetiredAt21 03-26-2005 08:35 PM

I like bands that actually have good bass lines in their music. Not just the bassist playing root notes and such, it adds much more depth is they play actual bass lines.

ForiegnPenguin 03-26-2005 08:41 PM

I'm really liking Years of Decay. I didn't listen to it as much as my other three(Feel the Fire/**** You, Taking Over, Horrorscope) when I first had it. I love the dark atmosphere and the long gloomey songs.

RavenousMetalist87 03-26-2005 08:43 PM

EVIL!!!!!!!!111111111

*clean guitar*

NEVER DIES!

That is a kickass song :)

FatalEnergy 03-26-2005 10:53 PM

Yeah, Playing with Spiders/Skullkruser is truly a menacing song.

Wasn't Evil Never Dies suppossed to be called Overkill III? At the very end of the song you can hear the riff from the first Overkill in it

Apocalyptic Raids 03-27-2005 01:54 AM
