Heh, all I gotta say is that I have my beliefs, and others have theirs, and I won't dispute theirs so long as they don't dispute mine, people gotta just let others be.

We ended up not reading Nietzsche in class, though it was on the syllabus. I plan on reading it over the summer though because that was rather a disappointment. Bevond Good and Evil I think it is...I've been interested in reading something of his anyways...and my friends and I are such dorks we might create a philosophy club over the summer to have debates and read literature heh.

You crazy kids and your essays
I think I'm gonna see the guide tonight. I'm scared :(

Indifference, then. I don't mind, so long as you don't try to pass it off as tolerance :)

Nietzsche is great to read, because he never really claimed to be writing philosophy. It just seems to flow better.

I think I'm going to be ending up doing Nietzsche and Sartre next year.

Just don't see it expecting a dramatisation of the books (like I did), and you could well enjoy it, even if some parts fall a bit flat. If nothing else, you get to tell me what you thought of the film/Zooey Deschanel afterwards.

Anyway. I just read a pretty cool (and short) article on atheism, whilst making myself a cup of tea.
Who did you vote for? Around where I live it makes no difference who you vote for, since we're in one of the safest Conservative seats in the country, but my Mum's voting Lib Dem anyway.
Liberal Democrat.

Screw the secrecy of the ballot!

What with being around Newcastle though, I'm not sure how much difference it'd make to Labour's hold.. I'm not sure if I've sent it off in time anyway.
I love reading Nietzche...he's just such a fascinating guy, even though his ideas were so badly misappropriated by the Nazis during World War II.
Yeah, that was all his stupid sister's fault.. Good luck seeing the Guide, and enjoy The Arcade Fire. I wish I could say more on that point, but I still haven't heard anything by them (except lots of praise from Alt/Indie quarters).
Finally got the packs ehh? Were they worth it?

I'm quite a fan of Dean Koonce's books. Really good writing style, and his stories are good too.
Did you hear the recording? ;)

Then you tell me. ;)

Well, it wasn't free per se. It didn't cost me anything though.

And I made a penny on returning that CD. A good day indeed.

superpeer 05-03-2005 01:20 PM

You spelled " 'twas " wrong, Ice Princess.

I haven't had any vocab in English since...whoa...I can't remember. Probably seventh grade.

I don't think I did. If I did, it should be changed. It was in Dutch anyway. :)

Ah, foreign language ++.

It's nice to know that my Geometry teacher is depriving me of a week's worth of education, that bastard. Not that I'm really complaining, it's not like I ever do anything in their except piss him off, so I'm glad I get one period off.

I said "period".

GurS 05-03-2005 01:40 PM

not much, as said, we may have found a new singer for my band. He's a pretty good singer, he's an absolutley incredible guitarist (whilst he also plays metal, he plays jazz and funk too, so we're going to use that to add an extra dimension to our music), he's v. popular (bringing in a ton of new fans) and pretty good looking (notgay) (which will attract a female following). And he's a raving Marxist

not a bad find, all in all

Shred Danson 05-03-2005 01:42 PM

That's cool. I talked to my drummer in my band that I formed in Kentucky over the summer and they said they'd take me back when I move, so yeah. I'm glad I didn't have to start over...

Question for Jelle, out of curiosity: In Dutch schools is English taught the way American schools teach Spanish or Italian?

Shred Danson 05-03-2005 01:46 PM

Where in the hell in our country do they teach Italian?

My high school offered it. Lots of colleges and universities do as well.

EDIT: beaten by a lot of people

I'm listen to Bal-Sagoth right now and it is so good.

So anyway, I'm sitting here in class watching Cool Runnings....

The End.

GurS 05-03-2005 01:53 PM

nice

TV programme I've recently gotten into: Trailer Park Boys

Illmatic 05-03-2005 02:02 PM

I've heard a lot of good things about Trailer Park Boys.

Oh, and another reason why I have a hard time following soccer (football to the Euros): snotty Europeans who bash the US National Team whenever they can.
