I just cant get the bit with the keyboard and guitar solos, it is just to fast for my fingers.
Yeah, that's what I can't play either.

NP again AJIG

clearvision 04-21-2005 01:12 PM

it is infact 3 voices :p Awake is just too long, I+W gets kinda heavy with take the time. The glass prison was a stand out track on six degrees, I just couldnt get into it...I may have to look in ToT or Change of seasons sometime i spose.

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-21-2005 01:13 PM

Change of Seasons is great, IMO. I don't like much of their other stuff though.

Dammit, again that happens to me this week. I though Opeth - Bleak was one voice with impressive range at first too.

Yeah, during the breakdown part, the vocals switch off between James (singer), Mike (drummer) and John (guitarist).

The vocals at the very beginning were Mike too; at least the deeper sounding stuff.

clearvision 04-21-2005 01:18 PM

:p

/didn't know bleak was more than one voice

With DT you will know it's not james when the vox start sounding like a man :p . I only really listen to DT for Rudess (the keyboard player) He is like my idol, i love the way he intorudec the keyboard/piano into some metal...his solo album is actually amazing. The rest of the band are cool and that, but they very rarely make me  .

yeah, I was pointed that out.

Edit due to brain self destruct :upset:

Huber 04-21-2005 02:35 PM

I rarely listen to DT, I just haven't caught on to them yet. I love the Pull Me Under song though.

ShadowMan 04-21-2005 02:36 PM

Hmm, I thought I clicked on the Tool forum...

*thread

Yeah you did, 250 oddd pages of tool-talk. But with no new info out and most points already discussed multiple times conversation often drifts.

Deal with it beatch.

Moses 04-21-2005 03:20 PM

Listening to the Glass Prison right now, I'm in bliss.

Darkness 04-21-2005 04:16 PM

I heard that song a long *** time ago, and remember not really liking the vocals but I'm ganna give it another try.

I play piano but I don't idolize Jordan Rudess. If someone that doesn't play classical heard him I could really understand. From my standpoint, hes definately good but nothing to drool over.

I'm really liking As I Am ATM. It reminds me of earlier Metallica or Megadeth for some reason.

Oh and when Kage comes back, I looked into about all that D Dorian stuff in Tool and you were right. They use it quite often, more on Aenima, though.

Darkness 04-21-2005 04:37 PM

Guys go to tool band... new front page with a new logo!!

Moses 04-21-2005 04:39 PM
Guys go to tool band... new front page with a new logo!!
I didn't see it.

Darkness 04-21-2005 04:40 PM

Try again its there.

Moses 04-21-2005 04:41 PM

Hmmm...... Whatever I'll do it later.

Darkness 04-21-2005 04:43 PM

Yeah it takes so long to go to tool band.

misunderstood 04-21-2005 04:45 PM

Hmm..it might be the browser. I couldn't get the new page on Firefox..but I tried opening it on Explorer and it's there....I thought there'd be an update though..oh well.

Moses 04-21-2005 04:47 PM

Thats probably it. I'm using Firefox.

Darkness 04-21-2005 05:01 PM

Mabye hes just typing the update...

I can see it now...

"TOOLS NEW CD AND LATERALUS DVD IN STORES...TOMORROW!!!"

misunderstood 04-21-2005 05:08 PM

^Heh, wouldn't that be great. Knowing Blair though, he's probably just teasing us. Making us think there's going to be some great important update...and he's probably not going to post anything for a couple of days. :upset:

Adam Jones is GOD 04-21-2005 05:09 PM

I've bookmarked past the title pages for ages.

Although toolband sucks, its still hte first place for any news

Rothmans 04-21-2005 05:10 PM
Although toolband sucks, its still hte first place for any news
True but all the Blair bashing like what is the guy gonna do Tool rarle have any updates and he posts about there influences and tool related more than anything. He does get a hard time but it is a bit ridiculous.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-21-2005 05:12 PM

Yeah, ild rather he posts continous crap to at least let us know its being updated, than to be left dead for ages, like kabir's.

Plus he does give out the odd cool thing in an update.

Rothmans 04-21-2005 05:14 PM

He does I loved that story about faaip de ooaid I can and havnt listend to that song in the same way

and kabir's site is good but he abandon's it for a very long while but when tool are back it will be up and lively.

Is anyone a part of Toolarmy?

And if you are what is so special aobut it?

Adam Jones is GOD 04-21-2005 05:16 PM

Toolarmy was (and probably still is, but it seems very dead) the tool fan club, if yu will. They allowed you to get advanced reservations on tickets to shows near your area, and a lot of other tool related goodies.

However, being in England, this wasnt really beneficial to me, and their security licens eis out of date, indicating little or no activity these days

misunderstood 04-21-2005 05:20 PM

Yeah, Toolarmy is rather pricey too. I think the best time to join, if you are planning on doing so, is once the band is active only because you'll have the chance to get advanced tickets..and they'll probably have new merchandise. Anyway, I like Blair's updates too...especially his newletters. There's always something weird/funny/odd about them...kinda cool.

Rothmans 04-21-2005 05:23 PM

Wait it out and it will be back up (hopefully)
I live in Ireland so it sucks just as much if not more and it is kinda hard to see them even if they were in england but this time if they dont come to Ireland I can go see them in England this time round
