I work at the laptop service center at my University now. It's crazy what some people do to their computers.

This girl had to have her LCD replaced because she was painting the back of it. Some paint leaked in and fried something.

Not to mention all the spills. Orange juice in the keyboard, for instance. We replace a lot of keyboards.

Well, in his defense, it is recessed about an inch or so in the comp, at the very bottom, and he was standing up. But yweah, still pretty stupid.

ok but still, he should have known that the earplug plug is always (well at least on all the comps that i have seen) near the cd rom drive.

I've got a Dell, and the headphone hack is right next to the two front USB ports.

So I did my own setup for the first time.

I'm proud of myself. I managed to eliminate all fret-buzz, and the action is nice and low.

Saitoku 01-14-2005 10:07 PM

Night, Joe.

Yeah, I was really nervous about messing with the truss rod, but it wasn't so bad. The guy that set it up at the shop had it really tight.

iv never messed with the truss rod, iv never needed to .

I put a set of new strings on and it just threw everything out of whack. I only had to give it about half a turn to fix it, though. After that I adjusted the action and it was fine.

was it a different guage? i found when i change guages on my fretless i didn't have to do anything with my truss rod

Saitoku 01-14-2005 10:26 PM

I think they were slightly lighter guage, which is why the neck started buzzing. (not enough tension.)
