The concept of marriage seems good to me, yet it is crumbling as time goes on. Over 50% of marriages fail now. I would really really really have to be sure about a girl before I would ever marry her.

I wouldn't mind getting married at some point if the the woman I'd be seeing at that point would feel that it's something important, but to me it's nothing more than a huge waste of money on a given day and a ring around your finger.

the reason why the concept of marriage is failure is because having sex with one person the rest of your life is flawed. Your marginal utility goes down overtime, physical attraction is lost in the process, it is impossible to only be attracted to one girl

basically you get bored and want to move on, it just depends on the emotional connectivity you have with the person, personality types, how much you need each other, etc

Actually there are numerous reasons why marriage is failing, and its not really marriage's fault.

the concept as a whole is flawed, thanks to mainstream media's constant happy ending love tales.people, especially women, have unrealistic expectations
