Let's all vote for ALEXI "Wildchild" LAIHO!!!
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=416343
I couldn't do that. LaBrie had to get my vote there. |
I couldn't do that. LaBrie had to get my vote there.
Laihos vocals arnt really that good |
there exists singer who are better than laiho, but among laBrien (i hate him - without him, DT will be far better) and all the other guys up there (Cornell...pls... Laiho is better)... i think alexi has talent and his singing fits very well into his kind of music.
|
Ihsahn>Alexi
Alexi's vocals get softer and cleaner every album, have you noticed? |
I couldn't do that. LaBrie had to get my vote there.
I hate Josh.
I voted Alexi, but as much as the people in those threads hate to hear it, it's because I like his voice. I probably should've went with Ihsahn though. |
Ihsahn>Alexi
and what do you want to say with this statement? its great that he is developing his style... it would be boring if all albums will sound the same
me too, pls repcak@gmx.at
That his vocals get more watered down and less agressive every cd. |
They are hardly less aggressive. His voice sucks now, but his scream still has plenty of force. I prefer his old scream anyway.

His scream has force when he uses it but he doesnt use it as often any more. And wtf is with the pointless cussing on the new cd? There are parts that are totally random like the shout "fuck you bitch" and "shit falls down motherfucker" in Living Dead Beat. I'm not gonna mention In Your Face... we all know the lyrics to that one. |

He's always done that, it just never showed through because his voice was harder to understand back in the day. In Your Face is the obvious exception though. |

Meh, it sticks out too much on AYDY for my liking... :-/ The keys on In Your Face and the chorus of Living Dead Beat are the only things I really like on the new cd, sadly. :( |

The keys on In Your Face and the chorus of Living Dead Beat are the only things I really like on the new cd, sadly. :(
That's too bad. I love the riffing and everything. The only thing I don't like are the vocals, but I've gotten used to them. It's definitely a huge change of pace for the band, but I think they pulled it off, I'm sorry to hear others don't think so. |
i love aydy - tis an awesome album i think
a change of style but undoubtedly great and the vocals have improved no end |
Yeah, stop bashing the album, his voice and In Your Face...cunts.

Sorry, didn't know I had to lie about my opinion to please you guys in here. Christ, Ima listen to hatebreeder. |

Christ, Ima listen to hatebreeder.
heh heh his opinion is his - dont knock him for it guys, evene if its wrong:lol: |
Stop bashing the guy, I like AYDY but in terms of musicality it is like a 5 compared to the 8 or 9 I'd give Hatebreeder/FTR. If someone doesn't like it I find that very easy to understand, just cause a lot of us like it doens't mean its exceptionally good. Britney Spears has millions of fans and we can easily say she has no talent.
|
for me AYDY is a masterpiece... the improved soo much... the only reason why ppl don't like it is because everyone was expectin an second Hatebreeder.. hey, Alexi laiho give a **** of what you want... he is an artist and he has the rigt to develop his style... he has to do it, becaus if he won't he (maybe) will get a lack of inspiration.
i would give AYDY 9 of 10 |
Yeah, i'm hoping that they will be getting more technical, and from the looks of AYDY?, they will.

i would give AYDY 9 of 10
Alexi changed because he wanted it to be more rhythmic in other words he wanted to step down his level off technicality, it can be argued why he chose to do this, he's changing to a more acceptable format in my eyes. Just because it's COB doesnt mean it's good and I think the amount of fanboyism I've seen over this album beats Dimmu and CoF. At least Dimmu have better production and symphonics and have more complex and interesting structures. Sure they sold out, and because they did their music is irrelevant, people just hate what they did and their image. Half the people who like AYDY are the metalcore people who like all the NWOAHM crap, so it's no wonder that they say CoB have improved because the new CoB style suits them better because it is easier to relate to. They say that moving from classical-inspried music (yes CoB have Mozart and other composers melodies in some of their earlier songs) to NWOAHM style music is an improvement. AYDY gets 5/10 from me. Without Jannes good key lines it would be a 3. |
hm, i don't know any Cob fans around me, and i am the only one who listens to metal in my circle of friends. i will see at the concert if its true that most of CoB fans now, are nu-metaler ...

The overall feel of the album is quite slow and seems to drone on and on with no direction. I wish I had not wasted my money on it to be honest. Oh well, they only play a few songs off the album live right, because I am seeing them tonight. |
Hey IHeartSP, could you possibly email me the CD Key for Guitar Pro?

It does have an appeal to fans of Lamb of God and Trivium... at least in the area where I live. EDIT: Not real metalcore like Converge but the new stuff from America. |
Ok I sent out the YSI link for Trashed, Lost in Helsinki to rekap and apocalyptic raids anyone else want?
EDIT: also to repak and Apoc i dident put a subject in there, sorry kind forgot.... |

I dunno what those riffs sound like to pinpoint them to a genre, but they don't sound like those type of bands. I also find it funny that there is a big "FBI ANTI-PIRACY WARNING" on the back of the jewel case. |

Have you noticed those warnings are on all new relatively large label CDs? Megadeth even has copyproof CDs. :amaze: |

The new Age of Silence EP has copy right protection on it as well. There will always be a way around these things though. And yea, I also found the parental advisory sticker to be amusing as well since I some how found the cd in a Fred Myers of all places. |
How do you pronounce Janne's name anyway?

My Favorite one at the moment is "Are you dead yet?"

off of the CD or the CD itself? |
Fred Meyer's?
I used to go there when I lived in Oregon, ages ago.
Ya heh. I was waiting to get into the Vader and Decapitated show, so I went and looked around in the electronics to waste some time and it was only 10 bucks, so I thought what the hell. I needed to break some money to get some change any way. |
How do you pronounce Janne's name anyway?
I say "Janny". His full name also reminds me of the porn star, Jenna Jameson. |
I think it's "Yane", or "Yan". I'm pretty sure the Norwegian "J" sound is the English "Y" sound. Don't quote me though.
