YSI it please? Mistergroovy1023@gmail.com
Relics is a compilation, Jude. A lot of it is B-Sides and singles, but there are tracks from their early albums also. So if you have The Early Singles, PATGOD, SOS, and More, you already have relics. Arnold Layne (Single) Interstellar Overdrive (PATGOD) See Emily Play (Single) Remember A Day (Saucerful Of Secrets) Paint Box (Single) Julia Dream (Single) Careful With That Axe, Eugene (Single) Cirrus Minor (More) The Nile Song (More) Biding My Time (Single) Bike (PATGOD) |
Relics is more of a compilation. You see, the Nile Song was originally on More, and is covered quite well by Voivod, also.
Yeah because Bike, and See Emily Play are on Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. I had a tape a long time ago called Works. It is also a compilation. It had One Of These Days, Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict, Arnold Layne, etc. It's so worn out, you can't see the titles to the songs anymore, it's just a blank tape. I can't remember where I got it. |

See Emily Play isn't on PATGOD. This "Works" sounds like a bootleg, heh. Still Ummagumma and Meddle would be an interesting combination. |
Awhile back, someone (can't remember who) sent out the audio to LAP. Would anyone happen to have the audio from the acoustic David Gilmour DVD in mp3 format? I would give lots of e-sex for that.
I have it :) I'll compress it and send it out tonight. It's basically the whole thing except the last Comfortably Numb track, which for some reason, wouldn't rip from the DVD. |

I think my Dad bought it for me on my 13th birthday. Yes, See Emily Play is on Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. Click below, go to Songlists and Lyrics and scroll all the way down at the bottom. :) http://www.pinkfloyd-co.net/disco/piper/piper_album.html Edit: Pink Floyd was my life a while ago. If it wasn't for them, I'd be listening to garbage. |
No, See Emily Play was a single released before Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. If it appears on PATGOD, it must be a re-release with bonus tracks.

That's strange, because I'm looking at my album right now and it's the last song on it. 1967. Oh well it's all good...get Works somehow. It's a cool compilation. |
The orignal PATGOD LP is different from the Cd they sell now. My dad has it on vinyl.
|
My version of PATGOD doesn't have See Emily Play.
I have seen him in a few interview's the way he goes about saying stuff and all he seem's to be a total nob.
I dont think he ever liked Syd. The way he was talking aobut him and all in teh VH1 legend's thing and all.
He seems like a pretty nice guy seeing as what he writes in Inside Out, and funny at times. There's a place where he sais something about how hard the decision was of what to do with Syd and he sais something like: 'Syd was our guitarist and our singer, our frontman, but above all... he was our friend.' So I don't think he didn't like Syd. The picture of Syd at Abbey Road during the recording of Wish You Were Here is depressing. He actually looked pretty good during the time he was in the band but on that picture he's fat and ugly and has this weird look in his eyes... As for Relics, I see that all the times on Ebay, so I don't think it's that rare. Probably reissues tho, I'll buy one when I see a cheap one. :) |

I didn't think it was on PATGOD. I thought that it was just a single. |

Sounds like its a great album. Ill try to look for it and download some songs from it. |
I have it :)

See Emily Play was just a single. :) So I wish Syd would let someone from like BBC have an interview with him. It's hard to imagine that he is that mentally disturbed that he has to completely cut off any and all existence of his time with Pink Floyd. He was such an amazing song writer! |

I was also wondering this. I have a couple other music dvd's I wouldn't mind ripping. |
I'm listening to Saucerful of Secrets right now....such a great album.
And I think Relics is the only Pink Floyd album that I don't own on either CD, vinyl, casette tape, or mp3. I haven't seen it anywhere. |

oh huzzah, some 80p each .aac files at 96kb/s that can only be burnt to 2 CDs before they spontaneously combust |
I did a quick recording of me playing the Echoes solo into the funky part. I'll put it up in a minute.

Pretty Good. That song is trippen' :)
*What are the kids supposed to be, wearing those odd masks in the wall during another brick in the wall part 2? * |
I belive it's like.. They all have the same masks, implying no one could be who they wanted.. There was no diversity in schools, no self expression.
I just listened to "Wearing The Inside Out" (song) .. Wow is that an AMAZING song. |

I played through The Wall again today; you know, you can pick it apart bit by bit, break it down, criticize every little detail and song about that album, but in the end, it is a damn good album.
|
The Wall is pretty awesome. I love the extended solo on ABITW pt. 2 from Is There Anybody Out There?
|
I wish I could update my art gallery, everything in it is about a year old now.

I don't know, I'd have to ask my friend, he was the one who gave me the CD. |
Which album is that on?
It's not. It's a solo track by Rick Wright. But, David Gilmour performs it with Rick Wright on his acoustic DVD. |
I love Rick's solo work so much. It's somewhat scary. :)

I don't like it; its too theatrical, too over the top, and the musicianship bores me. |

How's about sending some out? I remember you sent out a couple tracks awhile ago (Mediterannean C, or something like that) but I lost a lot of my music awhile ago. If you can't, it's no big deal. But, if you can, that'd be pretty sweet. |

I love that album. I love the whole ABITW thing: Part 1 Happiest Days of our lives Part 2 Part 3 Outside the Wall The whole album is great, it's my favourite PF album |

Explain yourself in further detail. |

The Division Bell |

The musicianship of Comfortably Numb bores you? That I can't understand... |
.
The musicianship of Comfortably Numb bores you? That I can't understand...
Different people have different opinions. I personally love The Wall, but yeah, I can see where he's coming from. |
.
The musicianship of Comfortably Numb bores you? That I can't understand...
frankly, yes, even though its one of the better songs on there. It lacks any of the originality, the weirdness, the "progressive" nature of the earlier work which was what made it special. Ok, so the solo is fairly well written, but even that i find a tad repetitive compared to something like "any colour you like", "time", or "Echoes" (Solo 3, jam) I just don't think the album was that special and i don't think if anyone else had written it it would've gotten anywhere. |
Not to argue, but the Time solo is alittle repetive.. (It's fucking awsome, but it's just like.. 4th fret on the D string and different bends for the first part.)
