If it turns out to be a Disgustipated.... chairs WILL be thrown.

Altough that's still an awesome song.

Huber 05-25-2005 07:09 PM

I'd definetly make Disgustipated my ringtone if I could.

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-25-2005 07:14 PM
This is necessary! Life feeds on life.
yeah kage, it was funny for like the first 3 times, but after 10 minutes, it was nothing more than nonsensical Goth Primus rantings.

...which i guess is still funny, but not for 15 minutes!

 I enjoyed the weird percussion sounds and how it got more intense each time. It was so weird that it was one of the songs that got me interested to check Tool out further. Still, I can't say it's one of the highlights from Undertow or anything.

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-25-2005 07:19 PM

I'll still join you in throwing chairs if the new song is anything like that.

Huber 05-25-2005 07:20 PM
I'll still join you in throwing chairs if the new song is anything like that.
I'll throw chairs to, but just because you don't have to have an excuse for throwing chairs, it's just that fun.

Kage 05-25-2005 07:21 PM

Although I don't think I've ever actually thrown one.

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-25-2005 07:22 PM
These are the cries of the carrots
I was so right when I called that song Goth Primus

Darkness 05-25-2005 07:23 PM

Some of the stuff in that song is kinda cool, but god it is annoying.

Kage 05-25-2005 07:24 PM

He really says carrots? I didn't know that.

I've never thrown a chair, but that doesn't go to say there aren't any holes in my walls.

Huber 05-25-2005 07:26 PM

There's a hole in my door, which believe me is the lamest place to have a hole. The world thinks it's funny to yell through it and scare the crap out of me.

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-25-2005 07:27 PM

Plus, it kind of defeats the purpose of having a door.

Kage 05-25-2005 07:28 PM

 There are several places on my wall where the poster is not just there by coincidence.

Magicaltroll 05-25-2005 07:49 PM

I threw a chair once... It was intense.

I was like 7 though. I was on Riddlin (sp?) and it made me REALLY pissed off all the time. So thats why I did it.

Heh, I've been trying to get a good recording of Intermission for mine
Heh, I've been trying to get a good recording of Intermission for mine
See, now THAT makes sense.... It's a simple organ or synth tune.

Otherside 05-25-2005 08:39 PM
It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch.
You looked up at your sky then.
That made blue be your color. You had your knife there with you too.
When you stood up there was goo all over your clothes.
Your hands were sticky.
You wiped them on your grass, so now your color was green.
Oh Lord, why did everything always have to keep changing like this.
You were already getting nervous again.
Your head hurt and it rang when you stood up.
Your head was almost empty.
It always hurt you when you woke up like this.
You crawled up out of your ditch onto your gravel road and began to walk,
waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you.
You can see the car parked far down the road and you walked toward it.
"If God is our Father," you thought, "then Satan must be our cousin."
Why didn't anyone else understand these important things?
You got to your car and tried all the doors.
They were locked. It was a red car and it was new.
There was an expensive leather camera case laying on the seat.
Out across your field, you could see two tiny people walking by your woods.
You began to walk towards them.
Now red was your color and, of course,
those little people out there were yours too.
That part is so eerie... I love freaking out friends with it when they come over. Well, that, Faaip De Oiad and Mantra.

Huber 05-25-2005 08:48 PM
 There are several places on my wall where the poster is not just there by coincidence.
Holy crap, I can't believe I never thought of that. I need a poster!

Lateralias 05-25-2005 11:58 PM
Yeah, that whole rumor started with his drum-tech. He does however, have a demon catching artifact thing behind his kit.
That would be a gong LOL! Ahh I'm kidding, well... he does have a huge gong behind him when he plays live, but I've seen the "demon catcher" in picture somewhere before... Danny is an interesting guy, and from what I hear a nice one also :)

Chu 05-26-2005 12:12 AM

Sorry, I'm not big on Tool, although I do enjoy their music, so I'm wondering if they're doing anything about a new album yet? Or still lazy :p

corporalclegg 05-26-2005 01:41 AM

I believe Danny Carey said they are currently in the studio and writing many songs with Lateralus-esque tempo, but with an Aenema crunch to it. But it could be just lies. All lies.

Well, that sounds decent in my opinion.

clearvision 05-26-2005 03:09 AM

Sliptallica/kage...I remember earlier on in the thread someone posted a list of topics that were emant to be intertwined with the new album...I haven't got time to search however :(

Heck, they could incorporate some Undertow-era heaviness to this album... hopefully better quality than Undertow of course :p

Werny 05-26-2005 06:15 AM

Didn't Danny say to read up on Solomon or something?

Adam Jones is GOD 05-26-2005 06:52 AM
Haha, an 18 minute ringtone!

If it's anything like the odyssey that is Third Eye, I will be very happy. It seems to me Tool's longest songs tend to be their best (Third Eye, Lateralus, Reflection, Eulogy), because they can just let the song go wherever it needs to.
"Dude, why isnt he picking up his phone? Its been ringing for at least 10 minutes now"

/me still listening to ringtone

That Eulogy lighter seems cool too

Adam Jones is GOD 05-26-2005 08:07 AM

Oh yes please :)

Checking DVD release dates for the UK, depressing :(

Darkness 05-26-2005 08:54 PM

I'm currently listening to those Kyuss tracks... not something I'd normally listen to, but it doesn't suck at all.

Huber 05-26-2005 08:57 PM

So I'm at my drum lessons today, and I pass by my teacher's car while we go to get something out of it, and I see a stack of practice pads with geometrical symbols drawn on them. I knew my teacher liked Tool, but didn't know that much!

Darkness 05-26-2005 09:04 PM

Heh, thats cool man.

On another note, my friend now allows me to listen to 1 Tool track a week. (I begged him) And now, I'm listening to The Grudge... and god is it good.

Moses 05-26-2005 09:04 PM

You know, I've heard so much music from Tool that was complicated and out of form, I'd like to see a simple, soft, ABAB form type song.

Magicaltroll 05-26-2005 09:17 PM

Here's a little gay pun my spanish teacher shared with me.

Seven days without Tool makes one weak.

lol pun

Instead of Tool, he said softball. Yes, HE said SOFTBALL. What a fag.

Anyways, I've thrown a lawnchair one time. I was pissed because I was mowing my lawn, and the mower just freaked out and started smoking, so I took the plastic lawnchair, hurled at a peach tree and the 2 back legs just kind of shattered. T'was wicked.

Ho-Why the hell would you want that???

Check out Opiate if you want more simplistic stuff. I'm sure you have, but you can use it for your simple Tool listens. :p

Kage 05-26-2005 10:13 PM

Haha, that's actually not a bad pun. Granted, the softball number isn't quite the same.

Mowing the lawn with a faulty mower is one of the worst things in the world. It just adds insult to injury.

Check out his freaking top tracks!

Moses 05-26-2005 10:18 PM

****.

Kage 05-26-2005 10:19 PM

Jesus...he must have a playlist going while he's not on the computer or something...no one spends that much time on the computer, I hope.

I don't listen to Tool much on the computer, because I don't ahve any of their full albums on the computer, and I find that I enjoy them much more when I listen to a full album as opposed to a few single songs.

Huber 05-26-2005 11:02 PM

That's nuts....
