What internet connection slatanic?
512kbps, I think the Exodus one took closer to 20mins rather than the 10 I stated but it's quite fast and relatively efficient. Should be getting a free upgrade soon to 1Mbps :D

I was thinking earlier, how cool it would be to see Possessed play live.

:o you know Possessed lyrics?

When i listen to Seven Churches all i hear is "raaaarrr baaahhhhhhhhhh soooooorrrrrrrrrr YOU WILL DIEEEEEEE" and its still an amazing song :thumb:

RCA 03-25-2005 11:42 AM

Swing of the Axe wasn't on Seven Churches, but I know what you mean.

Another one of things you only hear on that album too is "BURN IN HELL!" or "SIX SIX SIX!"

It's one of my favorite albums.
Another one of things you only hear on that album too is "BURN IN HELL!" or "SIX SIX SIX!"
  Yeah, you can always just make out the '666', to me it sounds like he's saying it in French e.g 'Seece Seece Seece'
It would be great to see Possessed live :thumb:

RavenousMetalist87 03-25-2005 12:56 PM

That'd really help me right now, because I just came back from the DMV, and **** man...the examiner was a douche, a really big douche. He said I made 20 errors, which I think is crap because I did everything my dad taught my sister, and at least tried to remember what the driving school taught me.

God do I hate Southern California...I need some thrash...that'll make me feel better.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD BUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTCHHHHHHEEEEEEERRRR! *Mike plays the intro riff*

hehe :) me happy again

LordDargon 03-25-2005 01:18 PM

On Possessed - The Exorcist, Jmet once pointed out to me that around 40 seconds it sounds like he says "and drink alot of beer".

That album owns so hard. People must have died when they heard it in 1985.

That song just makes me feel that Possessed are possessed - the opening riff with the tormented vocals just made me fit and order all of Possessed's material.

FatalEnergy 03-25-2005 04:00 PM

There is a live Possessed album out there, I don't have it though. I forgot the name of it too, but it's probably cool as hell.

NP: Destruction - Bullets From Hell

RCA 03-25-2005 04:25 PM

Yeah, I was thinking about buying it. I have two Possessed bootlegs though, so I already have a slight taste of one of their gigs.

FatalEnergy 03-25-2005 05:56 PM

I just got a Soothsayer demo from '86, it's good stuff, but the vocals are a little different than on the album Have A Good Time, they are more yelling and screaming, it's kinda of annoying, but....still it's solid old thrash :thumb:

NP: Destruction - The Damned

ThrashMaster27 03-25-2005 06:44 PM

Hey! an EP for a Titans title. Never seen that before. Thank holy **** Anthrax are coming with their Among The Living line up. Why don't people call it the Spreading the Disease line up! they were all on that aswell. Anyway, popularity I guess.

NP: Overkill - Time To Kill

Corporal Compendia 03-25-2005 08:33 PM

cause Among the Living is far superior, but with that said, it's still not very good. Anthrax are a bunch of hasbeens now... should have quit long ago. Especially with the amount of whining they do now.

ForiegnPenguin 03-25-2005 08:43 PM

I really like Fistful of Metal, but you are right.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-25-2005 08:57 PM

never saw what the huge deal about anthrax was also. Although if i can i will go see the ATL lineup gig.

sensitiveorgan00 03-25-2005 09:22 PM

You guys know anything about Anthrax - Live (in the Island Years) or some shi.t like that? I saw a live Anthrax cd at K-FVCKING MART, holy shi.t my balls, that was like recorded in the early 90's. It was only 6 bucks too, with a good amount of songs from Among the Living etc, and just wondering if you guys heard of it. ANy good?

Apocalyptic Raids 03-25-2005 09:25 PM

havent heard of it.

but then again i wouldn't be able to name you more that 4 anthrax albums anyway:lol:

ForiegnPenguin 03-25-2005 09:47 PM

Well if its 6 dollars I would say go for it.

RavenousMetalist87 03-25-2005 09:55 PM
Well if its 6 dollars I would say go for it.
Definitely. I got Among The Living for $9.99. Best deals are the ones kept secret.

I'm possibly going to get the Chaos DVD from Sepultura sometime, but I'm sort of hesitating. However, with it being 14 bucks, I can't pass it up. 1 compaltion of some good stuff (well, mainly the first 2) is not bad.

You should get it, the Under Siege part is excellent and the Chaos part of the dvd has some excellent videos, one of them being 'Inner Self' live '89. The Roots part though is not too great.

NP: Slayer - Fight Till Death

ThrashMaster27 03-26-2005 04:32 AM

Get the Sep DVD man, it's only $14! The Live gig in Barcelona is top notch.

DimebagDarrell 03-26-2005 06:56 AM

yeh the sepultura dvd is great especially the under siege bit the 2nd one is'nt too bad either with the live bits from donny.

I have grown deeply sickened by the idiocy and ignorance rampant on these forums.

This thread is the last remaining stronghold for extreme metalheads on MX. Keep it that way.
can you guys tell me what is retro thrash and give some examples?
I think you may be reffering to old school(80's) or first wave thrash, in that case try early Slayer, Exodus, Megadeth, Anthrax, Dark Angel, Destruction maybe even some Venom. Basically just look for bands who were formed in the early 80's :thumb:

NP: Dark Angel - Psychosexuality

EDIT: Dargon, don't leave :) I remember when I created a new account because I wasn't being taken seriously and you convinced me to stay as Slatanic :thumb:

RCA 03-26-2005 09:49 AM
can you guys tell me what is retro thrash and give some examples?
Retro thrash = Could be 80's thrash, or newer bands whose music is 80's thrash styled.

Bands include Heathen, Hirax, Sodom (80's thrash), or Violator, Sauron, and Andralls (Retro styled thrash).
