Again, your opinion.

Listen to him, his opinion sort of counts.

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 11:30 PM

Well it can't be that great if it sort of counts.
What's wrong with Haste The Day? I realize they may not be the greatest metalcore band out there, but they got me into metalcore, so I have to be loyal to the band that got me started with this kind of stuff.

And HTD actually got me into the genre that I love. So I'm loyal to them. As well as the fact that I still really like them.
No you don't. :p Also, are you sure you'd still be loyal and listen to them much if you didn't like them anymore?

illpressureurhinges1 12-13-2007 02:50 PM
Ok people. Get it through your heads! I am loyal to Haste The Day not only because they got me into metalcore, BUT ALSO because I just like the music that they make. That's why I defend them even though people talk crap about them.
Just read this and shut up about it.

Haha dude, calm down, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with you listening to them, just asked a question.

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 03:14 PM

I like Haste the Day.
They didn't bring much originality to the table, but I always remember them as one of the bands that got me into music.
It was a blast seeing them live, but without Jimmy Ryan, I wasn't really reliving my childhood. Stephen Keach did improve alot though.

BTW, I heard from a lot of people that Dillinger Escape Plan's new CD is trash.
What do you guys think?
I personally love Calculating Infinity and most songs of Miss Machine were quite good ('Phone Home' was terrible).
Irony is a Dead Scene was insane too.

Pete 12-13-2007 03:42 PM

its been a steady decline for DEP. i love calculating infinity and under the running board and irony is a dead scene, but its just gone downhill from there

sure, a few songs off ire works are good, but over all its not good enough

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 03:44 PM

You didn't like Miss Machine?
I loved that CD.
There were quite a few noticeable flaws, but what CD doesn't have those?

CI > Irony > the rest.

I don't care much for Ire Works, though it's not a BAD album, it's far from what they do best and it's just not a sound I like for them.

i am the robots 12-13-2007 03:52 PM

Yeah Yeah Eyah Spazzy Chug Chug Woo Woo

Bad Screams!!!!

Dillinger Escape Plan Is Sick Bro!!!!

"irony is a dead scene" for one

nah, "miss machine" is alright, way better than "ire works", but not as good as they were with their original vocalist

Pete 12-13-2007 03:57 PM

seriously, you need to lay off this tired sh!t whenever someone mentions dep or btbam - yes, we get that you are superior to their assumed techiness, but that doesnt mean there arent aspects of their music that are enjoyable

What was that guy's name again? I reckon he's way better than Greg.

Tyler 12-13-2007 04:01 PM

Dmitri was a terrible vocalist, his vocals just meshed better because they werent louder than the instruments.

Pete 12-13-2007 04:02 PM

idk, i think he sounded better to their music

and their music was better back then, too

Monticello 12-13-2007 04:03 PM

I just prefer his tone.
I don't really care anyway.

Tyler 12-13-2007 04:03 PM

he did sound better but he still sucked as a vocalist.

greg is technically better but he sings from the nose and is way too loud and just doesnt fit.

Pete 12-13-2007 04:04 PM

yeah well i still have that mentality in music that sounding good makes you good

weird, innit

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 04:10 PM

Irony is a Dead Scene is indeed sick, but I found some flaws in it.
For one, it should have been a full length.
Two, the cover wasn't that good.

I actually like Greg better.
The singing can get quite stupid but he has a lot more range than Dimitri.

Don't diss Btbam. They're my favorite band of all time.

BTBAM's self-titled is incredible, I agree.

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 04:10 PM

And so is The Silent Circus, Alaska, and Colors.

How the **** are those flaws with the album?

Pete 12-13-2007 04:11 PM
BTBAM's self-titled is incredible, I agree.
i havent listened a lot to that one :upset:

i wasnt serious though, you can diss anyone all you want

i am the robots 12-13-2007 04:11 PM

okay cool. listen to btbam's first cd more often, seriously, it's right up your ally, what with melodic guitars!

Tyler 12-13-2007 04:12 PM

BTBAM's full length is great because of the fact that they wrote songs not songy chunks assembled into tracks

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 04:12 PM

Short length can be a flaw especially within the male species (coughthatwasterrible).

The cover wasn't that good.
That's a flaw.

i am the robots 12-13-2007 04:12 PM

Yeah, it has a really cool flow to it.

Tyler 12-13-2007 04:13 PM

No those aren't flaws. Saying an EP should be a full length just highlights how good the EP was. The cover was fine, but if it wasnt then it'd be a flaw with the packaging, not the album.

I mean you like BBABH so you're obviously shallow but sorry packaging doesn't hold any bounds with the album.

Pete 12-13-2007 04:13 PM

i like melodic guitars

you should check out virluent blessing, because i think you like 'experimental' death metal as much as i do
