Az_Holl 03-27-2007 08:12 AM

youve only been here a month, why didnt you jsut start with the name you wanted?

Akira 03-27-2007 08:12 AM

Yeah, mods usually won't do a name change unless you are a veteran with a lot of posts.

Jimbobntnr 03-27-2007 08:17 AM

did you win a comp Akira?

Akira 03-27-2007 08:34 AM

No, Justin's just cool.

I didn't even ask. What happened was I asked if I would get banned if I said I like Good Charlotte, and instead of banning me he gave me a huge GC avatar. He decided that was mean and gave me my regular avatar back big instead.

mxtabs.net is coming back.

Akira 03-27-2007 12:08 PM

Anyone have a couple hundred grand they want to give me?

kilian 03-27-2007 12:20 PM

For?

:amaze:

Akira 03-27-2007 12:23 PM

To go to Berklee for college. Unless I get into jewel heists and narcotics trafficking right now, I will never be able to go.

One Groovin Clown 03-27-2007 12:23 PM

Prostitutes, drugs and liquor.

What else?

Edit: damn late.

Polyamarous 03-27-2007 12:27 PM

Does the term "student loan" mean anything to you?

I don't know if USA has them.
Does the term "student loan" mean anything to you?

Yeah, of course we do. But Berklee is like $40,000+ a year, for a career in music. I cannot justify spending $40,000 a year for college, unless I decide to be a doctor or lawyer or something.

kilian 03-27-2007 12:32 PM

Hmm.. True.

Here the music education programme is like 2000 a year or something :amaze: Why the HELL is Berklee so expensive? And I bet there are other music schools..

Polyamarous 03-27-2007 12:32 PM

There must surely be other music courses you can do at other colleges?

Akira 03-27-2007 12:34 PM
There must surely be other music courses you can do at other colleges?
Sure there are. Berklee would just be sweet.

Whether I end up doing music or something totally different, I will probably end up at the local in-state school. My dad works there, so I get half off tuition.

Polyamarous 03-27-2007 12:34 PM

wikipedia says Degree program tuition is approximately $23,450 for the fall through spring academic year (as of 2006).

kilian 03-27-2007 12:35 PM

Yeah I also want to study in England, but hell that's never going to happen

Polyamarous 03-27-2007 12:37 PM

I wouldn't bother, we have the 2nd to worst education system in Europe and the people are terrible.

Plus the netherlands is one of the best places to live in Europe, along with switzerland and stuff.

Akira 03-27-2007 12:38 PM
wikipedia says Degree program tuition is approximately $23,450 for the fall through spring academic year (as of 2006).
Hmm, the Berklee site gives numbers way higher. I think that that number is just tuition, things like housing really add up.

Polyamarous 03-27-2007 12:41 PM

Ah I didnt take into account living etc, that would sound about right then.

kilian 03-27-2007 12:42 PM

But to study there a year would be cool. And it was more like a 'for example' thing. The Netherlands are OK, but not superb.

By the way.. some french girl took some mushrooms and killed herself when she was with her class here. So now they want to make mushrooms illegal.. And we're talking about shrooms that aren't altered by human hand. The last ones were already illegal ;)

Akira 03-27-2007 12:42 PM

Either way, tuition is ridiculous. Even at state schools.

Jimbobntnr 03-27-2007 12:44 PM

Someone needs to kill themselves while paying taxes.

Polyamarous 03-27-2007 12:46 PM

It's the same here too, for university it's £12000 odd ($24000 ish) no chance on living with a loan lower than £20000.

Kili, how many more drugs are legal there?!
Someone from my college overdosed on pills not 2 weeks ago, puts things into perspective!

Err. So normal tasty mushrooms that you find in omeletts?

Akira 03-27-2007 12:48 PM
Someone needs to kill themselves while paying taxes.
Haha, amen to that.

I am actually somewhat lucky. The IU school of music is rated as one of the top in the country. Unfortunately, its best departments are not ones that I would be interested in.

kilian 03-27-2007 12:49 PM
Someone needs to kill themselves while paying taxes.
Yup.

Fun fact though: the mother from a good friend of mine is in the government on the second highest position. She isn't a minister, but what we call: government secretary. So basically, she is in charge of almost all the money in her department. She happens to be on 'education'. My future job. And they are raising the salary! After waaay too many years of doing nothing -_-'

But she's also doing it pretty good with other side factors :p
