RCA 12-28-2004 04:09 PM

Cryptic Slaughter and the Cro-Mags shouuuuld've been ther first to pop into your head!

JMetallica 12-28-2004 06:44 PM

I have a light bluish seamy kind of pattern on the back of my denim.

I have a Pleasure to Kill patch that was *supposed* to go onto my leather jacket, but.... i dont know if i want to wreck the leather >_<. Man... the dilema. Oh yeah, and full biker style too... lots of zips and ****.

Does anyone have any other metal accessories? I have a big ol silver crucifix, which was bought for an entirely different reason to metal, but hey, it doesnt look out of place. I just need some chain thingys for my boots so they look ultra awesome.

Oh, and yeah... does anyone know where (if?) you can buy old reeboks? You know the huge chunky floppy ones that everyone used to have in the 80s.. the ones that look totally ultra awesomeness?

Corporal Compendia 12-28-2004 06:46 PM

It's a rare occasion for me to wear it, but I have a denim vest with a Hellhammer backpatch, and then Razor, Slaughter, Sacrifice, and other assortments of small patches on it.

Argh... Am i the only one that thinks the singer from Suicidal Tendancies has the *most* annoying voice ever?

Oh, and everyone can download "Age of Quarrel' by cro-mags from http://www.cromags.com/ ... Get it, its pretty **** good for crossover.

Mike Muir...he speaks like he's black aswell, it's hilarious. They take the piss out of him on the Pantera DVD, it's quite amusing.

Well, I did put together this jacket I found at The Gap since I wanted to wreck something prepish and turn it into a metal disaster XD

I think I succeeded. If I can get my cam to snap a few images of it, I'll show you guys. It's not a thrash jacket, more of a metal/hard rock jacket.

I want to get a leather vest if I can and put a lot of thrash patches on it...that is if i can get ahold of them.

metal-militia 12-28-2004 08:47 PM

am I the only one that doesn't have a denim jacket with metal patches on the back?

*runs out and gets leathers and denim and looks metal as ****!*

Yes ST's vocalist pisses me off, but I still think they're pretty good overall

yea, both Cryptic Slaughter and Cro-Mags are great...i simply fergot about CS...but i dint mention Cro-Mags because i have never been too fond of their crossover stuff since i liekd their hardcore stuff better...thus i usually overlook their crossover stuff...sometimes by accident and not too often but occasionally on purpose...still a great band... :thumb:

no, i have a Battalion of Saints back patch on my denim...hah...it aint a metal patch...they're a hardcore punk bands from the 80s.... :thumb:

heh...but i dont mind Mike's vocals...i still love the bands...so fuck it...

FatalEnergy 12-28-2004 11:54 PM

well....my cousin likes a lot of this new crap thats out now-a-days, and he forced me to listen to Shadows Fall....and I heard very little of them before this, mabye a video or two on Headbangers ball.....and I was like "bleh, these guy are wannabe thrash". Well, my cousin made me listen to thier "older" material.......even though stuff that came out in 2000 is not old at all and there was a song call Crushing Belial and thought to myself "wow.......this is actually a thrashy tune......if you got rid of the death vocals aand a little bit of the hardcoreness it could be real thrash"...........bands need to stop beating around the bush

yeah....I have and wear those old 80's styled Reeboks....they still make them somewhat. I buy mine at Sears of all places :thumb:

SLATANIC-666 12-29-2004 03:50 AM

Going back to \m/ clothing etc. I don't really have that much, I have like a shitload of thrash t-shirts made into vests, but then again, who in this thread hasn't got a lot of thrash t-shirts. I got quite a few pairs of torn and faded jeans. I don't wear boots though, I should really start to but I'm just too lazy to go buy some :p
However, I was contemplating getting me a leather jacket with my xmas money, all I did was search leather jackets on google and this awesome site/shop came up with some nice looking leathers on there, didn't seem too pricey either, In fact I might get 2 and totaly blight one with patches etc.

Oh, and Jmet wasn't it you who posted that link to all those Metal Church mp3s a while ago?

JMetallica 12-29-2004 04:23 AM

It was.... but i think the dude who put the songs up took them down because russians were downloading them. Or some such.

Hmm, speaking about needing to buy a leather jacket... a while ago i bought a one because is was a) CHEAP! and b) Awesome condition. Only trouble is, its too freakin big. A size 44. I bought it for $100 AU... so yeah... If youre on the larger side of normal and think you'd like to buy mine (for less than retail ;) ).... give me a shout as i have been looking to sell for a while.

I was just looking over the first 20 pages or so and was just wondering whatever happened to a few of the early members especially Deftoned? I doubt you know but I'm just curious and have nothing better to do.

I haven't been on here for months. The general state of the forums here is fücking atrocious. Apart from this thread, R&M has lowered itself to "Met vs 'Deth' and lots of *OFFICIAL* threads. This threads come along nicely, I've read the last 30 pages or so. I can't beleive something I was involved in has garnered so much support, and it's always good to see fresh faces. *wipes tear from eye* When I get DSL I believe I'll be posting in here alot more. This new 'rep' system is interesting, I'd can only beleive what type of rep I'd have if it was back here in the day hehe. Well, this thread alone is worth 5 stars eh? :thumb:
The hardest decision ever is Peace Sells vs. Rust in Peace.

Peace sells has pretty much every song is great.

But Rust has much better songs (holy wars), and also some ****ty songs (lucretia).

Overall I'd have to go with neither one.
Ohhh no...

Rust in Peace wins this..Peace sells is good, best song on it i think is My Last Words.... but with rust every song is class!

And i can totally empathise with you. This is pretty much the only thread i post in nowdays, unless the odd topic jumps out at me on the first page.

Oh well. God speed getting broad band. Once you have it, youll never look back. :D

Yes, and Yes. It struck me as interesting also when i first heard of the two angels. Even more interesting, both them are great! The ultra violence Death angels best album. When you get the cash, purchase it. But only when you have bought Darkness Descends as DFA kick larger amounts of arse.

Deftoned just let me know he made a post here. I worship at the altar or thrash. Speaking of Met vs Deth, I don't think any Metallica album is as **** listenable as Rust in Peace (Peace Sells and The System Has Failed are close behind). Metallica bore me a bit *hides*. I like their best songs, but can rarely stomach a whole album because whatever you listen to, it's always the beginning of the end.

I've got about 40 or so posts in here, so thought I'd stake my claim. Biggest thread ever.

SLATANIC-666 12-29-2004 06:15 AM

How big is a 44 Jmet? Any idea what is is equivalent to in European sizes? I would imagine by the sounds of it that it's too big for me, but if I can work out the size business then we'll talk :thumb:

Oh and with regard to that Metal Church link, can you remember if Enemy of God was on there? Because when I last looked it was there, and I helped myself to it :naughty:
But only when you have bought Darkness Descends...
I listened to it a few months ago, mainly because of this thread and I must say it's intense, but after giving it a dozen or so plays went back to Reign in Blood.

It's good for a bit of a change in pace if that makes sense at all.

I've been listening to a lot of Anthrax lately, the new Dark Tranquility and Soilwork records and finally listened to the Shadows Fall album. And some Agnostic Front.

Is Act III by Death Angel any good? I saw it cheap recently but didn't buy it.

Yes Slatanic, the Enemy of God stuff was on there too.

I wouldn't worry about having to hide, that's what opinion is all about, the only people who would flame your ass for saying that are 'tallica fanboys who believe Metallica are the only good metal band around.
My personal opinion of Metallica is that they made 3 maybe 4 decent albums, sometimes touching the edges of thrash then they decided to take the money.

a8o 12-29-2004 06:27 AM

I'm figuring out what my best of Metallica would be. Probably in the order of 10 or 12 songs.
